Soon after the girls left I went into my room to pack for the holidays back at home. Lily packed her luggage last night, as much as I'm always prepared I can't seem to pack my luggage beforehand. I hate packing luggage completely.

As I'm debating about which things to leave behind, I hear my phone ringing in the kitchen, and I run to answer it without checking the caller

"Hello!"

"Hey sweetheart, just calling to check when you girls will be arriving?"

Mo, Lily and I always go home together since we don't live far from each other. I hate traveling alone and having these two with me when traveling is a plus.

"Can't wait to see me? How shocking!"

My mum and I have a close relationship, we love teasing each other, her more than me.
I value our relationship more because she always make me feel comfortable enough to talk to her about anything.

"Yes my baby is finally coming home, I'm tired of living in a male dominated house. You know how your dad and brother get, I have to watch football all day as long as they are here."

"Don't I know how those two can get? Don't worry I will be there to rescue you."

After that we talk about driving safely and such. My mum is the overprotective one between my parents, and if it weren't for my dad I'm sure I would be in college somewhere in Florida. I appreciate her long phone calls, but they always make me miss home more.

Since I have no plans I decided to clean up our apartment so that we don't leave it a mess.

Why didn't you just go with your friends? I ask myself.

'Because I hate parties and wanted to pack for Florida' I say in a 'duh' tone.

Well enjoy being alone miss I hate parties.

Geez I sound like a mad woman talking to myself. I decide to text Lily and see how her day is going at Hayden's

Missing me already.

Get over yourself, just checking how things are over there

Everything is great, just wish you came with us.

I had to pack and, you know how I get with crowds.

Fine fine fine, but are you okay being alone though.

I'm fine, just miss my lovely bubbly friend.

I suddenly don't want to be alone, and decide to check if my brother Noah is busy. He is a lawyer here in New York, but we don't see each other much even though we stay in the same city. He is trying to build a name for himself, and tends to be a lot busier than usual.

I sometimes wonder how he manages his demanding career, and being in a serious relationship with his girlfriend of four years. Noah met Hailey while he was doing his masters at Harvard Law. They started off as friends, but their feelings were too strong to deny so they dated five months after they met.

I am brought out of my thoughts when I hear my brother's voice on the other side of the phone.

"Hey pumpkin."

"Not you too! It's bad enough that dad and Sammy still insists on that name."

"Haha"he laughs then continues. "Thought I should join the gang, I might call you that till you are old with grandkids."

"Wait, wait, wait! How did we skip boyfriend stage to grandkids?" I ask him jokingly.

"Enough about your non existent relationship, what do you want?"

"Are you guys home, I'm bored."

"I'm not home, but Hails is around. I will be there in a few hours."

"Okay I'm coming by, see you later."

We soon hung up, and I go to my room to change into something better than my yoga pants.

I wear dark black high waist jeans, and a white nice crop top together with converse, and take my demin jacket on my way out. I'm not a big fan of make up so I always keep it minimal. I use some eyeliner, then nude lipgloss.

The drive to Noah's place doesn't take long since there isn't traffic, I pay the taxi driver, and thank him before getting out. I knock lightly on their apartment door for some time with no response.
I should have checked with Hailey if she is home, instead of taking Noah's word. Just as I'm reaching for my cell phone in my bag, the door opens, and I see Hailey in her gown, and her hair still wet from the shower.

"Sorry to disturb you ma'am." I say smiling already making my way in. Hailey is my brother's first girlfriend that I get get along with, she is not a fake like his past flings, and they seem pretty happy.

"What did I do,for you to decide to honour me with your presence?" she asks sarcastically

I feel bad, because I haven't visit them for about a month now which is not common. Uni has been keeping me busy, and stressing the hell out of me.

"I'm sorry Hails, I was busy with exams, and you know how those get." I apologize.

"I'm kidding Vicky, it's good to see you. Let's go upstairs so that I can get dressed." She says with a laugh.

Hailey, and I have been quite close since I moved to New York threw years back. Back at home we didn't know Noah had a girlfriend for the first year they dated, up until he brought her home the following year for Christmas. We were all surprised when he brought her home, because he never officially introduced his past girls to us. That's how we knew he was serious about her.

"Are you staying for the night?" Hailey asked

"No, I don't think so." I answer her walking behind her.

"Why not? Why didn't you bring Lily, and Mo anyway?" She stop midway to face me.

"They went partying on the other side of town, they will be staying the night there." I explain following her upstairs.

"That's even more reason why you should sleep over, whose party is it?"

'Hayden's friend.' I totally forgot his name.

"Never heard of a Hayden, who is he?" Hailey asks with a cheery voice.

"Lily's boyfriend or fling." I say with a small laugh.

"Lily has a boyfriend? When did this happen?" Hailey must have gotten a whiplash with how fast she turned to look at me.

"They have been together for a couple of months, three to be precise. We all went to the same high school, and these two met again and now they are dating." I explain as we walk into the bedroom, and sit on Hailey's bed.

"Seems like I have missed out on a lot." she calls out from the bathroom.

Between us three Mo is not all about love or that, she's just in it for the fun. Her flings don't even last to more than a month. Lily she is all bubbly, and isn't scared of love like me. She is wanted by most guys on campus, because of her easy going bubbly character and popularity, but she hasn't been in a serious relationship for almost a year now. She isn't scared to speak her mind, she is carefree, sexy, smart and loving.

"Okay, it's decided, you are staying the night. We won't get to see you for sometime since your going home." Hailey calls out from the bathroom

"I don't have a say in this, do I?" I ask her groaning.

"I'm afraid you don't little lady." She says through laughs getting out of the bathroom.

After Hailey is dressed, we go downstairs to cook dinner. As we are busy cooking, Lily calls me. She optioned for yoga pants and cropped top, and put her semi wet hair in a ponytail.

I answer the phone to hear her bubbly voice, telling me how their lunch with Jamie, and Hayden went. They left early so that they could spend some time with the boys before going to the party. She tells me she will see me tomorrow, and to take care of myself.

"So what are you doing, still watching movies?" Lily's voice says through the receiver.

'No, I'm at Noah's place for dinner. I might even sleep over, then go home early morning so that we can leave.'

"I'm glad you are not on your own, now I don't have to feel bad. You said our flight is at 11AM right?"

'Yes, so please don't be late. We should leave for the airport around 9AM.'

"Alright babe, I have to go inside. Say hi to Hailey and Noah, love you."  She says with a high pitched voice so that I can hear her.

'I will let them know. Have fun and all, but don't do anything I wouldn't do' I laugh knowing what her answer will be.

"I am not a nun Victoria." she laughs.

"I love you, bye sweet" I say not knowing it might be the last time I get to tell her.
