If only you were French then maybe you'd be edible
But you're alive on the inside, always inaudible
You're the only one who makes me feel something

And you're always there even in my good times
You're like a part of me,
A part that doesn't want to miss a thing, both good and bad

And I must say
You're pretty good at your job
Whatever that may be

And you know, you're also a pal

Cause you teach me, the hard way
You teach me to value my simple moments

You teach me to value the moments when I'm happy
The moments when I'm in good health
The moments when I have a roof over my head or a meal on my table
The moments when I'm with the people I care about

The way you're there when my loved ones are gone
The way you're there when I'm alone
The way you're by my side when I fall down

And sometimes even when I'm with the one's I love
You show your face to remind me that nothing lasts forever
And I feel you
I must give you a round of applause: who knew that you'd be the one to teach me about masks?

The one to make me wiser
The one to make me better

You're a real role model
You're such a mentor, you're a good friend
I don't blame them if they think I love you

But I know the truth
I don't like you
You might sound like the best teacher

I don't want you constantly reminding me of how small you can make me
And yet to lose you, I still feel you
