NICO'S POV

"Oh, hey Caleb," Nico said awkwardly. Oh no.

"Why was the mailbox glowing?" he asked, tilting his head calmly.

"Caleb, I think you're still half asleep. The mailbox didn't glow," Nico lied.

"I'm not an idiot Nico. Why. Did. It. Glow???" Caleb snarled. Nico shrunk back.

"Come with me," Nico sighed. Nico led the younger boy back to the house and crept upstairs. Then they went into his room and Nico locked the door.

"What's going on?" Caleb asked angrily.

Instead of replying, Nico rummaged through his belongings until he found a flashlight and a drachma. He got out a spray bottle and made mist and shone the flashlight onto the spray.

"O Iris, goddess of the rainbow, accept my offering. Show me Chiron at Camp Half-Blood."

An image of the centaur appeared on the screen. Much to Nico's surprise, he wasn't sleeping.

"Chiron! It's Nico!" Nico said. Chiron turned around.

"Nico! What are you doing?" he asked.

"Caleb found me mailing a letter to Perce," he mumbled. Chiron groaned.

"Okay. Well, we need to keep him safe. For all we know, he could be the son of Zeus and have monsters run wild through your house. Could I speak to him alone Nico?" Chiron asked. Nico nodded and moved away.

Nico became lost in thought, his head full of bright green seas and black skies and warm smiles.

Oh Percy...

"Hey... Hey Nico! Chiron wants you to speak to him!"

Nico nodded and walked over to the IM, hitting his head to clear it of Percy's entrancing eyes.

"Nico, this is very important, so listen carefully." Nico nodded and leaned in a bit, waiting to hear more.

"Caleb has a very powerful aura and you must protect him at all costs. Even if it means sacrificing yourself," Chiron said, his ancient eyes glowing with a concerned fire.

"Okay. What's so special about him?" Nico asked.

"Have him leave first. He mustn't know his parent yet," Chiron said quietly.

"Hey Caleb. Go on back to bed. I'll talk with Chiron alone," Nico said to his foster brother. Caleb nodded, pausing to look back briefly, then left and closed the door behind him.

"Okay now who is his godly parent?" Nico urged.

"Poseidon. Caleb is Percy's half-brother."
