D E A R A D A M,
I still remember that day. The day fate revealed its plans.
Being a nurse isn't easy Adam. You laugh it off every time but I know you know. That Monday morning all I had to do was administer medicine and change patients' dressing. Its a bother but its giving out, its patience.
I left work later on and decided to go a nearby park. I got a phone call that shook me in pain. Mom was in the emergency ward. The caller sounded anxious. I cant explain to you how I felt at that time in this small letter. I rushed there.
I reach the hospital and there she is. Innocently lying there between the machines. I take a deep breathe and talk to the doctor. "She needs a heart transplant, ASAP. I told you this 6 months ago. Her medications have failed." Is all he says.
$1.4 million was the total cost. I listed her for transplant just incase I could afford the bill and I had been striving in these 6 months to find my mom the best medication. What was worse was my mom didn't have a health insurance.
I left the hospital and sat in a nearby garden.
Tears warmly fell from my eyes as I sat in confusion until I saw darkness. I think I fainted.
S A R A
"We plan yet destiny brings forth the unplanned."
