Words of Power
A phrase leaves my lips
Silence hanging in the air
My words start to turn heads
But I pretend to not care
As their eyes shifted to my gaze
Some were startled at first
Captivated by my abrasive tongue
Shocked by my audacious outburst
I speak words with meaning
Not with malicious intentions
To get my own point across
Not to play with others for attention
My actions may shock others
But being blunt is something that I do
I talk with a purpose, not for expense
Then expect the same purpose from you
My body stands as tall as a temple
A temple made of fragile glass
Always ready to be shattered
Whenever deep thoughts come to pass
I use my words wisely
Not to shout or to boast
Sometimes I wish to speak wildly
Shoving all filters down my throat
I turn to walk away from their lingering eyes
To leave and mind my business
Things were finally said and done
Without any further witness
