Dear Barista
Dear Barista,
Whenever I walk into Starbucks looking forward to my cup of warm tea and a cinnamon raisin bagel, I look for your head of silver hair. You have always stood out to me, but not just because of your hair or your height (although it works to your advantage to be taller than the rest of the baristas). You capture my attention with your personality. You're always full of energy - eyes glistening with a matching bright smile - and your confidence seeps to every corner of the small, cramped café. You make standing in line a little more bearable, and I love watching you dance from one machine to the other while making drinks off of the secret menu (such as my favorite Cold Buster). When you make a tired-looking co-worker smile or you make the effort to spell a customer's name correctly, I can tell you have a knack for making a person's day.
I don't think I'd ever be able to tell you this to your face, but did I ever tell you that you almost always remind me of Troye Sivan song? I can never tell you why.
Today I see you dyed part of your hair purple, leaving your signature silver still to be known. I wanted to ask you why, but I can't - I don't even know your name.
BARISTA = tall, silvery purple hair, clear and blue attentive eyes, a glowing smile, a wonderful personality = aka YOU.
Now I know that I don't really know what your life is like, but I thought I'd just drop you this note to let you know that people do notice all the positive things you do - keep it up.
Sincerely,
Your adoring customer - K ❤
P.S.
Drink a few more peppermint hot chocolates this holiday season. I know they're your favorite and you definitely deserve it.
:)
Inspired by my local Starbucks barista.
