Akame woke up to find herself in a totally different environment. She was in an alleyway as she looked around where she was. Taking a step forward she flinched and groaned as her right foot hurt. She knelt down to subdue the pain. While fighting back the pain she noticed something.

Her murasame wasn't with her.

She looked around frantically for her weapon but it was nowhere to be seen. She moved out of the alleyway. Her eyes met another scene. There were roads bustling with cars and people walking back and forth.

It was all too new to her. She managed to get up as she limped using the wall beside her as support.

"Where.....am I?"

Akame tried walking despite the pain she felt on her foot. It seems she must've fallen somewhere but her mind was too hazy to remember except that bright flash of light that occurred earlier during her duel with Esdeath. Speaking of Esdeath the thought of her whereabouts also came to mind as she moved around.

Akame walked around fascinated by her new environment. It looked way more astounding than some of the beautiful sceneries in her world. While walking she checked around if perhaps she might find her imperial arms. While walking among crowds people couldn't help but take a quick glance at her as they passes by.

"She a cosplay model?"

"Have no idea"

"Her outfit looks cute though"

Ignoring the random bypasses she walked along the sidewalk as she continued looking around the place. After a long walk she ended up along a river side as she roamed.

"This country is definitely big,how did I even get here," she thought as she was getting a bit tired. Confused and having no idea where to go or do at all she sat beside the river looking at her reflection.

She seemed to be deep in thought as both pleasant and tragic memories came to mind which wasn't helping her. Tired she decides to lie down to take a quick rest.

"Hopefully someone might help me in this strange world" she thought.

The sound of someone diving into water was heard as it brought Akame's attention. She could see someone from the distance dragging someone out of the water. She walks close to get a good look at the person.

It was a boy with white hair and bright yellow eyes. He was dragging a man with brown hair out of the river.

Being a good person Akame dives too as she helps too. They finally bring the man too land.

The boy pants after using the little energy he had reserved the whole day to save this strange man that jumped into the river.

The man seems to wake up as he rolls his eyes in his wake as sits upright.

"Are you alright? You were drowning," the boy responds.

"I made it?"

The brown haired man asked in disbelief.

"Damn!"

"Damn?" The boy replied quite shocked by the man's reaction.

Akame was dumbfounded too.

The man slowly gets up."Are you the one who interrupted my submersion?"

"I was only trying to help."he said. Wait! Submersion?!"

" I was committing suicide."

"Suicide?!"

"Yes, I was trying to kill myself, but you just had to interfere ,didn't you?"
the man said annoyed.

"Is he scolding me for saving him?"The white haired boy thought.

"Still my objection was trying to commit a clean suicide without being a burden to anyone. Yet I did trouble you so that fault lies with me at this point." The man explained." I should apologise in some way."

The white haired boy stomach growls in starvation.

"Are you hungry boy?"

"Well I haven't eaten in several days"

Groooooowwl!

The two look ahead as they realised that was from Akame. She was also starving as well.

"You're hungry too huh?"the white haired boy said as she nodded.

Another growl was heard from the man's stomach."how odd, I'm also hungry."

"Then?" The boy said.

"By the way, the river seems to have taken my wallet away," he said taking out his empty pockets.

"Eeeh?? You've got to be kidding...."

"There you are you blockhead!!"

The three turn to the other side of the river. Standing there was another man who happened to know the one with brown hair.

He waved his hand up." Nice work kunikida!"

"Nice work? And just who caused all this work, you suicidal maniac?!"
the man growled."I've had enough of you disrupting my schedule!"

"Oh right," the brown haired man interrupted." I have a great idea, he's a colleague of mine from my work, let's have him treat you two to a meal"

"Are you even listening to me??!!" The man in glasses shouted startling the white haired boy. Akame wasn't afraid.

"What are your names?"

"Huh?..Nakajima..Atsushi."

The man looked at the black haired girl as she responds as well.

"I'm Akame." She bowed.

"Well come along Atsushi and Akame,
what would you two like to eat?"

Akame quickly answered." Can I have some meat?"

"Meat huh..hmm alright. And you?

"Um well if its not too much trouble,"

"Oh there's no need to hold back!"

"...I'd like to eat tea on rice..." he answered.

The man chuckles as he starts to laugh." So a boy on the brink of starvation wants to eat tea on rice?"

The man with glasses just watches him tapping his foot.

"Very well, let's have kunikida-kun treat you two to thirty bowls of that!"

"Don't get all generous with my money,Dazai!"

The two look at the man just being called that as they realized.

"Dazai?"

"Yeah that's my name. I'm Dazai.

Dazai Osamu

At a small restaurant......

"You're unbelievable, who goes 'that's a nice river' and jumps into it in the middle of a job?!"

Atsushi was busily gobbling as much tea on rice he could eat to satisfy his starvation.

"Thanks to you look! Look how off-schedule we are now!"

"You sure like your schedules, kunikida-kun."

Kunikida slams a note book on the table."this isn't a schedule! This is an ideal! My guide in life! And nowhere in this book is it written that my work partner is a suicidal maniac!"

Atsushi too caught up eating with his mouth full mumbled something.

"Shut up, nowhere on my expenses page wil you find it written that I would buy tons of bowl of tea on rice for a snot-nosed brat!" Kunikida complained.

The three stare in awe at Akame as they've seen she's already done eating a huge chunk of meat.

Kunikida continued" neither would it also be on my expense page to buy and feed a deceivingly slim girl with a huge appetite with freshly fried meat!"

"Nomm hm"

"Like I said, it's a job!"

"Nom nom nom" Atsushi muttered with food full in his mouth.

"Our job today? It involves the military."

Akame looks in surprise at this as Dazai does too.

"Wait how are you two communicating actually? Dazai asked.

"Ahhh I'm so full. I don't want to see another bowl of this for at least ten years."Atsushi said fully satisfied.

Kunikida gained a tick mark." Why you, how dare you be so shameless after eating on my dime?"

"You're a real lifesaver. After leaving the orphanage and coming to Yokohama, I've had nothing to eat and nowhere to sleep. I though I'd die of starvation."

"You're from the orphanage?"

Akame looked at Atsushi as she realized it.

"Putting it one way yes. But they kicked me out."Atsushi said.

"That's some non-profit there." Dazai commented." And you young lady?"

" I'm not...really from around here,"Akame looked down"..I'm kinda lost."

"I see." He said.

"Hey Dazai, we're not some philanthropists going around helping brats down on their luck, okay?"

Kunikida raises his ideal book.

"Let's get back to the job at hand.

"That reminds me, you said earlier that your current job involves the military." Atsushi stated. "What is your line of work,exactly?"

"Oh we're just private investigators." Dazai simply answered.

"Private investigators...?"

"That's not to say we only handle lost pets and alleged extramarital affairs. Perhaps you've heard of the Armed detective Agency, an organization with individuals possessing supernatural powers?"

Atsushi looked surprised."I've heard of this Armed Detective Agency in rumours..said to be an agency specializing in objectives that cannot be entrusted to the likes of the police or the military a twilight armed force positioned between the world of night and day."

Akame looks surprised hearing all that." Supernatural powers? Could it be having abilities like Esdeath's imperial arms?" She thought to herself.

"I'm told many from the agency posses Supernatural powers..
but does that apply to these two?"

"Oouu! Check out that nice beam up there!"Dazai said with beaming eyes.

"Don't analyze whether you can hang yourself in a random restaurant we just stumbled into!" Kunikida said checking his book.

"Don't get me wrong, we're talking about the hanging health method,"

"What's that about?"

"What,you don't know?! It's so good for shoulder cramps!"

"What?! Such a thing exist?"

"Hey write it all down!"

Akame and Atsushi knew something was up as they looked with a 'bruh'
expression.

Kunikida starts to write it down.
"Hanging....health...method."

"I'm messing with you😅"

Pen snaps into two.

Kunikida gets angry as he strangles Dazai.

"My partner gets washed up in a river two brats one on deaths door who stuffs himself with no shame and the other I'm not sure where she's from does same, my schedule for today was just perfect! but I have to start over from square one!"

Akame and Atsushi continue to watch as Kunikida hilariously tries to strangle him.

"So about your job today.." Atsushi began.

"I'll ensure that the job will be completed on schedule, if nothing else!"

Atsushi looks as he strangles him as he now faces him.

"yeah??!!"

"Ah! Sorry I shouldn't have asked!" He said nervously, r-right of course your jobs are classified!"

"Today's job doesn't really require secrecy." He said as he stopped trying to strangle his partner."we're looking for a certain tiger on behalf of the military."

"A tiger?"

'Could it be like a danger beast?' The black haired assassin thought.

"A man-eater who's recently appeared in these parts. Well not that we know for sure if it's devoured anyone. But it's ransacked warehouses and eaten farm produce and the like." Dazai said.

Atsushi looks alarmed.

"It's been spotted around here lately."

Bowls tumble down as Atsushi was now on the floor in shock of hearing this news.

Akame looks surprised too wondering why he's worried like that.
"Are you alright?"

"What's wrong Atsushi-kun?"Dazai looked concern.

"I....I....I'll be leaving now." He said crawling away." G-Goodbye."

"Wait brat!" Kunikida grabbed the back of his collar as Atsushi tried to run away but it was futile.

"You know something,don't you?"

Atsushi quits struggling as he warns.

"No one can take it on!"

"You know the man eating tiger?"

"It's after me. It almost killed me!if it's been seen around here I have to run now!"

Kunikida drops him as he pins him to the ground.

"Hey brat! You'll either pay for the food with your arm or by telling us everything."

"Now,now kunikida-kun whenever you try to ask questions, it turns into an interrogation, the CEO's been talking to you about this."

Kunikida sighs and lets go of him.

"Atsushi, what else do you know about this tiger?"

"My orphanage was trashed by that tiger it ravaged everything, our chicken coops and even our warehouse, no one died sure, but the orphanage was already on a shoestring budget. I got kicked out so that they had one less mouth to feed.

*flashback*

'get out you good-for-nothing!'

"The world would be a better place if you'd just die in a ditch somewhere!'

"Why me? I didn't do anything?"

"We don't need useless louts!

"You'll never find a place where you belong!

"Just go! I hope you rot in hell!"

*flashback end*

Akame was sad upon hearing what he's been through.

"Well that's tragic."Dazai said.

"So boy, what's this talk about the tiger almost killing you?"

Atsushi proceeds to explain about the encounters he had with the tiger.

"When was the last time you saw the tiger?" Dazai pressed on.

"I think I saw it around Tsurumi about four days ago.

"It's true that it's antics have been focused here for the past two weeks. In addition it was sighted around Tsurumi four days ago." Kunikida reported.

"Atsushi-kun are you free?"

Eh?! 'I have a bad feeling about this..' he thought

"You being the man eating tiger's target presents an excellent opportunity."

"Huh"

Dazai smiled."help us find the tiger."

"No way!" He retorted.

"Kunikida , please go back to the agency and give this to the president."
Dazai gave him a note he just wrote.

"Hey don't tell me you plan to catch the tiger all alone with the two of you?"We should first confirm whether his information is accurate."

"It's fine."

"I'm not doing this! This means you're going to use me as bait, right? Who in their right mind would agree to that-

Dazai had a funny smile."there's a reward."

"What? Reward?"

{Atsushi is currently penniless.}

"A reward?..nah you're not gonna tempt me with that!"

He was totally not convinced.

"B-but just for reference, how much would the reward be..?" He said looking over his shoulder in a funny way.

"About this much" Dazai showed him the amount on a calculator."

Atsushi went wide eyed.

"Well it's settled then." Dazai said.

"May I come with you and help?"Akame asked.

Kunikida responded," I'm sorry young lady but it's dangerous. We don't want any further casualties."

"It's the least I can do to at least repay you for the food you gave me." She said.

"Alright you can tag along."Dazai said.

"Huh?!"Kunikida looked at Dazai," You don't see anything wrong with endangering a civilians life!"

Dazai,"Don't worry she'll be under my care."

At a warehouse......

Atsushi was sitting on a large crate.

Dazai was reading a book while sitting on a crate also. Akame was seated next to him, curious of the book.

"Dazai what are you reading?"Atsushi asked.

He replied."a good book."

Atsushi takes a look at the book seeing the title; A complete guide to suicide

"Isn't it bad to read in the dark?"

"I have good vision so no need to worry,besides I've already read this book."

"Then why you reading it then?"

Dazai simply replied.

"A good book is always good,no matter how many times you've read it."

Atsushi asked in concern"Are you sure the tiger will show up?"

"Yes" he answered."I may not look like much but I am an operative of the armed detective agency.

"You're really confident, they called me a good-for-nothing at the orphanage as far back as I can remember and now I don't even know where I'll sleep tonight or whether I'll be able to earn my keep tomorrow.

Flashbacks start playing in his mind.

"No one'd care if someone like me were to die in a ditch somewhere."

"Yeah, I may be better off eaten by a tiger..."

Atsushi sits down with his head resting on his knees.

Akame felt sorry for him. She planned on later having a talk with him.

"Well then, I think it'll be soon."

*crash*

"What?!"Atsushi falls over startled by the noise.

I heard something back there!"Atsushi panicked.

"Yeah," Dazai replied not really alarmed as he read his book.

"Was that the tiger?!"

"No that was just the wind."Dazai continued reading his book. It probably knocked something down.

"It's the man- eater!" Atsushi warned."it's come to eat me!"

Dazai slammed his book shut."calm down Atsushi-kun. Tiger's don't show from places like that."

"How do you know for sure?!" The white haired orphan questioned.

"Something wasn't right to begin with. Just because their finances went south,why would an orphanage banish a child? It's not some farming village from some bygone era. Banishing one or two mouths to feed would hardly put a dent in their deficit. It'd make more sense to downsize by transferring half the kids to a different orphanage."Dazai explained as he jumped down from the crate.

Akame somehow understood his logic but there were some things she still didn't quite get.

Atsushi was puzzled.

"What do you mean Dazai-san? "

"You came to this city two weeks ago
The tiger also appeared in this city two weeks ago.

Atsushi stared at the full moon.

You were in the Tsurumi area four days ago.
The tiger was also sighted there four days ago.

Remember what kunikida said? The armed detective agency consist of individuals with supernatural powers. Though not a well known fact there are few individuals who posses supernatural abilities in this world

Atsushi started screaming and groaning as he appeared to be turning to something. Akame was alarmed when she saw this.

Some use their powers to achieve great success, while others fall into ruin of being unable to control their powers

Atsushi started transforming further as he later on turned into a huge white tiger.

"Dazai continued," I'm guessing the orphanage staff knew who the tiger was,but declined to enlighten you. You were the only one who remained ignorant as you also have supernatural powers. The ability to transform into a wild beast in the moonlight."

The white Tiger growled as it stared at Dazai.

"Akame, I'd advise you go to the corner over there quickly to hide."Dazai warned.

Akame nodded as she hide from the beast while watching the browned haired detective.

The tiger ran and leaped towards Dazai ready to pounce on him but with his hands in his pocket he jumped out of the way. He kept dodging the tiger's attacks as it almost raked it's sharp claws at him.

"Incredible you could easily snap a person's neck." He managed to say as he jumped out of the way.

Dazai skidded all the way to the end against a wall as he appeared to be in a dead end.

The tiger jumped up high ready to attack him once more.

"It wouldn't be bad to meet one's end
being eaten by a beast," Dazai loathed.

The white tiger beast ran towards him.

" but you can't kill me." He continued.

Dazai activates his ability.

{No Longer Human}

Dazai touches the tiger's face as it flashes.

"My ability allows me to render any other ability null through simple touch."

The tiger instantly turns back to Atsushi as he now rest on Dazai's chest uncousious.

"I have no such taste in men,"Dazai throws him off.

Akame watched in amazement of everything that just happened.

Kunikida soon comes after."Dazai!"

"Oh you're late kunikida." He said."I've captured the tiger."

"What, it's this boy?" He asked.

"He has the ability to transform into a tiger. Dazai answered as Akame approached the two.

"Jeez,what was with this note?" Kunikida asked showing it to Dazai.

Dazai read it aloud.'A tiger will appear in the warehouse in the fifteenth district. Secure the perimeter so it can't get away'

"It's an excellent concise note." He smiled.

"You left out the most important detail."Kunikida corrected."Next time explain in advance thanks to you I even had to bring on guys who weren't even on call. Take them out for drinks later."

The figures approached them as Akame watched. Atsushi was still lying on the ground.

"What, no casualties? How boring." A woman with a white long sleeved shirt and a black tie said." By the way who is this young girl?"

"Oh, this is Akame, she seems to be not from around here and is lost so we'll later help her find her way."Dazai said.

"You've come a long way,Dazai though you still have ways to go before you even come close to me."A guy with a brown coat and a hat said. His eyes seemed to be closed.

Dazai looked at Akame's reaction as he seems to know what she's thinking.
"You must be wondering who they are right? These are my other colleagues as well.

Dazai introduced her to them.

Yusano Akiko

"Hello"

Edogawa Ranpo

"Consider it an honour meeting the greatest detective."

Miyazawa kenji

"Hi" the boy gave a bright smile as he bend down next to Atsushi." So what are we going to do with him? He didn't know he was doing it right?"

"Yeah you're right."Kunikida said."so what are we going to do Dazai? The ward's designated him as a major threat, also what about the girl too?"

Dazai smiled," I've already made a decision. " He said as he stared at Atsushi as he reflected on what he said earlier about him being good for nothing. He also looked at Akame.

"We'll make them one of us."

"Oh nice!"Kenji exclaimed.

"Are you serious?"Yusano asked.

"Dazai you're an idiot."Ranpo insulted.

"Huh? What gives you the right to decide that?" Kunikida fumed.

"Wake up boy!"Dazai announced.

Eventually Atsushi wakes up as everyone watches him.

Atsushi, do you remember nothing at all from when you transformed?" asked Dazai.

"What are you talking about?"

Akame also noticed as she pointed."um"

"Oh your right hand is still there."he also pointed.

Atsushi raises said hand as he sees he now has the hand of a tiger as he strangely moves it around before freaking out.

"Eeeehhhh?!! What is this? What the hell! get it off!"he freaked out shaking his tiger hand off.

"Nakajima Atsushi!" Dazai called.

"You along with Akame will become one of us. From this day forth you two will be members of the Armed Detective Agency.

"Huh?"
