Attack on Vocaloid
Just a one-shot crossover type thing between Vocaloid and Attack on Titan. What do you think? Like? Dislike? What other series should I cross over? Give me your ideas!
“Miku, look out!” Luka cried, as Miku turned to look straight into the open mouth of a titan. Luka expertly worked her manoeuvre gear and cannoned into her, pushing her out of harm’s way. As Miku landed on a nearby tree branch, Luka turned around and deftly moved herself round to the back of the titan’s head, effortlessly slicing through the back of its neck with her twin blades. She landed lightly on another branch, her long pink hair streaked with the titan’s steaming blood.
“You need to stop acting so recklessly,” she told Miku sternly. “I won’t always be there to save you.”
“I’m sorry,” Miku said lamely. Luka simply glared at her before turning to address the rest of the group, who were waiting on the nearby branches.
“This needs to be a lesson to all of you,” Luka said. “Our friend here may have gotten lucky, but we can’t afford to be careless. We’re deep in titan territory now, and remember, this isn’t a training exercise. This is the real thing. Be careful.”
Kaito caught Miku’s eye from a branch opposite her and whispered, “You ought to be more careful of the captain than the titans.” She smiled.
“Don’t worry, I can take them on,” Gumi said proudly, her green eyes twinkling. “They don’t stand a chance against me! I’ll kill them all!”
“Not if I kill them first,” Rin retorted, looking at Gumi with a challenging smile.
“Rin, you’ll upset the captain,” Len said hastily. “She’s right… we need to be careful. If you get a little too close to a titan, that’s it. You’re gone, and there’s nothing you can do about it.”
Rin laughed. “Stop worrying so much. They aren’t that scary.”
“Len’s right. You both need to see the reality of things,” Meiko said. “The most important thing is to stay alive.”
“Calm down, all of you,” Luka said. “Remember, all you need to do is kill a single titan each. We are only testing your skill, and whether or not you can join the Survey Corps partly depends on this practical test.”
“Got it!” the group chorused, and they moved onwards.

“Hey, Gakupo… do you think you can do it?”
“Do what?”
“Kill a titan.”
Gakupo stared at Kaito. “Have you forgotten? I’ve been wielding a sword before I could walk.”
Kaito nodded his head. “Yes, but what about moving around?”
“No problem.”
“Got the guts?”
“Of course.”
“…Okay.”
“…What about you?” Gakupo said after a moment.
“I think I’ll manage. But…”
“What?”
“I don’t know if the captain will notice.”
“What do you mean?”
“Well… nobody seems to notice me. I think she’s forgotten I’m even here.”
“…I know what you mean.”
The duo fell into silence, but both knew that each other were silently lamenting the fact they were left out of the loop. Absorbed in their thoughts, they didn’t hear the three titans coming up behind them.

Len’s breathing was fast and shallow as he struggled to keep up with the rest of the group. He almost fell at least three times, and it took all he had just to not fall to the floor. Every muscle in his body strained with the effort to survive.
Just in front of him, a figure stopped on a branch. Rin turned around to look at her brother. “Don’t force yourself,” she said gently. “You’re much better suited to doing more theoretical work, not jumping around in the trees.”
“Don’t worry about me,” Len said through gritted teeth. He flew past Rin and into the trees ahead. “We’re getting separated from the others. You go ahead.”
Rin was about to protest, but at that moment a piercing scream rang through the air. A second later, Len came speeding back through the trees, towards the source of the scream. “Wait!” Rin called as he rushed past her, and she followed him as he forgot all his tiredness and focused solely on the fact that a friend was in danger.

Gakupo couldn’t move. “Help!” Kaito screamed again, frantically twisting and turning in the grip of a titan. He coughed up blood as the titan’s grip tightened and his ribs started to crack. Two other titans were looking at Gakupo, unable to reach high enough to attack him.
“Kai… to…” Gakupo whispered. His body shook as his friend screamed yet again. “I… I…”
Kaito turned his head slowly. “Gakupo...” he pleaded, his voice hoarse from screaming. Another rib gave way to the crushing grip of the titan, and his screaming stopped as he lost consciousness.
“Kaito!” Gakupo yelled, and was about to move when suddenly the titan’s grip loosened. Kaito slipped out of its hand, falling towards the forest floor. Len had cut the titan’s neck, and as it fell, he moved towards the other two titans, easily killing another.
However, as he headed towards the other titan, Gakupo could tell Len was getting careless. His movements were becoming inefficient and slow. Gakupo finally managed to move again, jumping towards Len. “Move!” he screamed, but it was too late.
The third titan turned just before Len attacked its neck, and he was unable to stop himself from flying straight into its open mouth. “Len!” Gakupo yelled. Len turned his head and stared into Gakupo’s eyes with eyes filled with incomprehensible fear.
“Survive,” he said, just before the titan’s mouth closed and Gakupo was left feeling a sensation of pure horror.
Then the titan fell as another person came from behind it, slicing its neck and felling it to join the other titans. Rin landed on a branch and looked at Gakupo. “Where’s Len?” she asked.
Gakupo couldn’t bring himself to reply. He simply turned his gaze downwards, his long hair covering his face and hiding his tears.
An object on the forest floor caught his eye. A person with blue hair lay broken on the leaves, limbs twisted horribly. His white coat was dyed red with blood.
Kaito.
Something inside Gakupo snapped. Still staring at the lifeless body, he screamed.

“That was Gakupo!” Miku said to Luka, concerned. “Maybe he needs help!”
Luka simply kept on going onwards. “We wouldn’t make it in time,” she said. “Focus on your own goals.”
Miku stared. “But what if he’s in danger? We can’t abandon our comrade!”
“Yeah, we need to save him!” Gumi said angrily. “And Rin and Len have disappeared too – maybe they’re with him!”
“Kaito’s also gone,” Meiko said, worried. “Let’s go back.”
Luka stopped and landed. The others alighted around her, waiting for her answer.
“Like I said, you need to focus on your own goals,” she answered coldly. “It’s already mid-afternoon and we still haven’t arrived at the area with the most titans. We need to hurry.”
“But what about the others?” Miku cried.
Luka glared at her. “They’re probably dead.”
Silence fell. The three girls were in shock.
“How can you say such a thing?” Meiko whispered. “As long as there’s still hope, we’ve got to help them!”
“There’s no point!” Luka shouted. “If they fell behind, that’s their own fault, and if they die, it’s their own fault! Stop acting all heroic and trying to save them. You’ll just get yourselves killed if you go there, and that’ll only make the situation worse!”
“But… you saved me when I was in danger,” Miku protested. “Surely we have to save them too?”
Luka laughed bitterly. “That’s because you were still able to be saved. It was easy to save you, so I did. It wouldn’t look very good on my record if I just watched my subordinates die.”
“Isn’t that the same as what you’re doing now?” Gumi yelled. “They obviously need help, but we’re just standing here doing nothing!”
“This is a completely different situation,” Luka said. “Before, I knew exactly what was going on. There was only one titan, and only one person to be saved. But this time, I don’t know how many people are even still alive, and for all we know, they could be completely surrounded by titans and are as good as dead.”
“How can you be so heartless!” Meiko screamed. “Don’t you care about saving your friends?”
Luka looked at her menacingly. “Who said you’re my friends? I’m only protecting you because it’s my job. Frankly, I couldn’t care less if you all just dropped dead right now.”
Nobody spoke. Miku and Meiko had tears running down their faces, and Gumi was looking at the ground angrily. “Dammit… I thought… I thought we could believe in you…” she said.
“This is the reality of being in the Survey Corps,” Luka said emotionlessly. “If I had grieved every death I had seen, I would have died long ago. There’s no time for despair when there are titans coming at you from every direction. Cut off your feelings and move on.”
“You’re a monster,” Gumi said. “A cruel, heartless monster.”
“And you will be too,” Luka said. “In time, you will learn to shut off your emotions and focus solely on the job at hand. That is all that matters in the Survey Corps. Just get your job done.”
“I’m going back,” Miku said decisively. “You can’t stop me. I’m not going to let my friends die.”
Suddenly, a blade was pressing itself against Miku’s throat. Luka scowled at her. “Don’t you understand? There’s no point. They’re dead. Get over it. And if you don’t get over it, you’re useless as a member of the Survey Corps, and I’ll send you off to a place where you can finally join your precious friends.”
“Stop it!” Meiko screamed, but Luka raised her other hand and pressed her other blade on Meiko’s chest without turning to look at her.
“I hope you have some sense remaining in you,” Luka said to Gumi. Gumi was in shock, and couldn’t do anything except nod submissively.
“Now let’s go on,” Luka said. “We’ve wasted too much time.”
The trio followed their captain in silence as they travelled further and further away from the rest of their group. Not once did they look back.
