A lady was working on her PC sitting in a small yet classy cabin when a knock on the door disturbed her. She turned around with a beautiful smile and greeted the person who walked in.

Lady: Yes Farhana, how is it going?

Farhana: *smiling* It's done Nandini ma'am, and I would really appreciate it if you could look at it and give me feedback.

Nandini: *returning the smile* Sure Farhana, just give me a minute let me finish this. Why don't you do one thing actually, go sit in your cubicle, I will be there as I need to talk to others too.

Farhana nodded and left. Nandini turned to her PC and made the necessary amendments to the work she was doing before saving it. She picked up her notepad, pen, phone and a gift bag moving towards the cubicle.

As she walked past the cubicles, every eye turned to her passing her a smile with a look of admiration in their eyes and she too generously returned the favour. She grabbed a chair and sat next to Farhana who switched on the presentation. Nandini looked through it making notes in her notepad. One thing everyone knows about Nandini is that she is very focused on her work. She is a chill boss but when it comes to working, she expects nothing but hard work, honesty and determination.

After going through the presentation, Nandini gave Farhana many suggestions which she made a list of. She was going through the changes in the presentation when her phone pinged. She glanced at it to see a notification reminding her of a meeting. She hit her forehead as she completely forgot about it.

Farhana: What happened ma'am?

Nandini: Oh I just forgot I have a meeting with the boss in 10 mins. Never mind, finish this presentation with these changes I have given you and make the changes accordingly for the rest of the part. And do make notes on which part you change so it makes it easier to check for me the next time. Thanks, Farhana! *moving to another cubicle* Hi Ruchika! *giving her bag* This is for you! Congratulations on the house.

Ruchika: Thank you so much ma'am but this was not needed.

Nandini: *smiling and hugging her* I am sorry, I would have attended the house warming but I am just really tired today, maybe next time. But don't worry, everything will go smoothly, you can leave early, your leave is granted.

Ruchika: Thank you ma'am!

Smiling one last time, Nandini picked up her phone, notepad and pen leaving for the conference room. It was a departmental meeting with the CEO and as she was marketing department head, she had to attend it.

Nandini: Hi Samarth, Hi Vridhi!

She greeted her colleague and her best friend. They wished her back. They all moved in and were waiting for their boss.

Nandini: So Sam, How is it going with your crush?

Samarth: *smiling brightly* It's not going anywhere, I want to talk to her but I am scared what if she thinks I am a freak.

Vridhi: Well approaching her does not make you look freak. Because if that was the case all the people in the world would be freaks. You just have to talk, you don't have to propose marriage.

Nandini: I agree with her, go for it, dude!

Suhana: Exactly, do it before she finds someone else. Hi guys!

Nandini: Hi Suhana!

Soon their boss entered and everyone straighten themselves. He sat and the meeting commenced.

Vridhi chased Nandini before she goes up to her cabin after the meeting.

Vridhi: Hey Nanz! What are you doing tonight? Anyways today is Saturday and we finish early.

Nandini: Nothing much Vru. Just gonna stay home, cook, clean and then maybe watch a movie.

Vridhi: Why don't you join us? I and Arya have decided to go for a movie and then dinner, so join us, it'll be fun.

Nandini: *chuckling* And be the third wheel? No thanks!

Vridhi: Come on Nanz, you know you are not a third wheel. You are our bestie. Chal na!

Nandini:*dramatically bowing* I am honoured to be invited but really yaar, I am very tired so just want to relax at home. We can go out tomorrow maybe?

Vridhi: *sighing* Okay! But kal pakka na?

Nandini: Yes hun! Now go and enjoy your romantic date night.

Vridhi: *blushing* It's not a date!

Nandini: Ya Ya!

Nandini picked up her stuff and left the office at 2. She reached home by 3 due to weekend traffic and plopped herself on the sofa as soon as she entered.

She took out her phone from her purse and checked her messages. She saw a message received from her special someone and immediately a smile formed on her lips. She opened it only to frown.

Message: Hey baby! Bad news, I can't come tonight, I will see you tomorrow morning, there are delays. And before you start worrying, chill! Everything is fine! Love you! Bye! 😘

She sighed and went to the home bar section where she forgot her charger this morning and attached her phone to it.

Right next to the bar was the dining room. She picked up an orange from the middle of the table and moved into the kitchen.

She went to the fridge and checked what she had which wasn't much so she picked up the car keys and left to get some groceries. It was 6 by the time she came home again and left her phone on charging again. She then went to the bedroom, picked a comfy pair of PJs and left to the washroom to take a warm shower as it was December and a bit cold.

After feeling fresh, she went back to the living room and taking her phone and charger, she video called someone, moving to the kitchen. She settled her phone against the wall on charging on the platform and took out pasta from the pantry.

Nandini: Hello Mumma! Kaise ho aap?

Priya: I am fine baby! How are you?

Nandini: *rubbing her hand on her face* I am so tired today Mumma, don't know why?

Priya: *sigh* Why? Did you not sleep well last night?

Nandini: *keeping pasta to boil* You know na Mumma, Maan is not here and I as always feel worried. Its been two and half years of marriage but I am still not used to this. Every time he goes, I feel worried and he has assured me thousand times but I just can't take this fear out.

Priya: But you said he is coming today?

Nandini: *chopping veggies* Haan he was supposed to, but the flight got delayed. Waise how are dad and Aru?

Priya: Your dad is in the room as he just came and Aru went out with friends. Waise Saturday night hai, why didn't you go out?

Nandini: I said na mumma, I am tired waise bhi Maan ke bina mood nahi hai.

Ram: Priya, I am very hungry.

Priya: *smiling* Abhi lagati hu khana, you talk with Nandu!

Ram: *excitedly* Princess! How are you beta?

Nandini: *stirring the pasta sauce* I am super fine dadda! Aap kaise ho?

Ram: Now that I am talking with you, I am also super fresh!

Both father-daughter giggled. They talked for a while and Nandini also cooked her dinner in the meantime. Ram and Priya sat at the dining table and looking at the food Nandini moaned.

Nandini: Mumma, the food looks so delicious! I miss aapke hath ka khana.

Priya: Then come here na, when will you? It's been three months since you came to Delhi.

Ram: Exactly, we miss you so much!

Nandini: Ha, I miss you three a lot too but what to do, I have such a tight schedule.

Ram: Why don't you do this, you have the Christmas week off so you and Manik come here and go after celebrating the new year?

Nandini: Idea bura nahi hai, let me talk with Maan and see how his schedule is or if he already has a plan. If not, we will come.

Ram: *bouncing in excitement* I am already excited.

Priya: Ram bas kijiye, it's not confirmed yet.

Ram: Le..

Priya: What le?

Nandini: *giggling* Rehne do Mumma, you can't stop dadda now. And don't start an argument now. You both eat even my dinner is ready so I will eat as well. Bye! Love you both!

Priya: We love you too!

Ram: Bye princess!

After talking with her parents, she felt a bit fresh. She dished out her pasta in a bowl and covered it with the lid. She then cleaned the kitchen as she knew that after eating, she will feel lazy and it was anyway just past 7. She then sat on the couch to have dinner and put on a movie. After fidgeting with her dinner for a while, she finally finished it and washed her bowl, she turned off the tv only to continue it sitting in her bedroom, wrapped in a comforter with an ice cream tub. The movie finished by 10 and as she was damn tired, she called it an early night.
