"(Name), why aren't you playing with the other kids?" Rose asked the little girl, with a slight frown.

It was the first day of school for the (Hair color) haired little girl named (Name). She was a shy little girl who lived with strict but loving parents and grew up only having a few friends. Since it was the first day, she hardly knew anyone, nobody knew anybody actually but almost all of her classmates were quick on making new acquaintances. But not her. When someone approached and tried being friends with her, she merely scooted away which resulted in her classmates giving up on trying to befriend her.

It was currently play time and everybody was outside either having fun playing with their new found friends or just talking to each other, enjoying the nice weather. Everybody but (Name) that is.

"... I- I..." (Name) hesitated. "I don't have a-anybody to play with....."

"(Name), honey," Rose crouched down to her height and placed a hand on her shoulder. "That's because you keep on pushing them away... Would you like to tell me why?"

"Well..." (Name) started, looking directly at her little (Favorite color) shoes. "I... I'm shy..."

With a smile, Rose pulled her in a caring hug and patted her head. "I thought so, but... would you like to have friends?"

The (Hair color) haired girl gave her teacher a quick nod, still looking at the ground, when a boy with light-colored hair and red eyes approached them.

"Hi!" He greeted (Name) with a huge grin. With a little push from her teacher, (Name) replied, "H-hello..."

"I'm zee awesome Gilbert! Gilbert Beilschmidt!" Gilbert said. "And you are?"

"(Name) (Last Name)..." (Name) started smiling a little bit, her hands behind her in a cute sort of way.

Their teacher was smiling at the sight in front of her and smiled wider when Gilbert said, "Let's play, (Name)!"

~~~~~~~~~~ Age 8 ~~~~~~~~~~

"(Name)!" (Name)'s best friend, Gilbert, called out.

"Hey Gil!" (Name) replied with a smile, waving at the light-haired Prussian who was running towards her.

"I-I have news!" Gilbert announced once he had reached her, still panting from previously running.

"What is it?" The (Nationality) asked, curiosity evident in her voice.

"I just found out! I'm gonna be a großer bruder ((big brother))!!" He replied, his usually wide grin wider than ever. With a gasp and a little squeal, (Name) tackled Gilbert into a tight hug which made the said Prussian's usually pale face turn cherry red. Still blushing, Gilbert hugged her back.

"Congratulations Gil! I'm sure you're gonna be an awesome older brother!"

"Ja, zat's true!" Replied Gilbert, a little sad when (Name) broke the hug but didn't show it.

"What shall we do to celebrate?" (Name) asked, already thinking of fun things to do to celebrate the fact that her best friend was going to have a brother.

"I have an idea!" He said, hands clasped. "Let's play tag."

With that said, Gilbert tapped his best friend on the shoulder and started running. "Und you're it!"

~~~~~~~~~~ Age 14 ~~~~~~~~~~~~

"See you tomorrow Maria!" (Name) smiled and waved at her new Filipino friend, Maria.

"Bye, (Name)!" Maria waved back, returning the smile. "Ingat ((Careful))!"

Smiling, (Name) turned and sat down on a bench just beside the school gate, waiting for her mom to pick her up from school. It was the end of another long, tiring but fun day at Hetalia World Academy where handpicked people from countries all over the world attend and learn about subjects you can find at any normal school, but also about the different histories, legends, traditions and so many other things of different countries.

(Name) was one of the very few (Nationality)s who was lucky enough to be recognized for her talents, intelligence, kindness, leadership qualities and for her love of her country. There is a rule that states that the maximum number of students from one country is ten. Meaning, only ten people of a certain nationality can be allowed to study at Hetalia World Academy.

When the (Nationality) found out about this, she was ecstatic. There's no denying of the fact that she was very happy but, she certainly wouldn't have accepted the offer if her best friend, Gilbert, wasn't going too. So, when the Prussian told her that he was also given the chance to go to the same school, she instantly accepted the offer.

At first she was afraid about not making new friends much like when she was 6, though she did meet Gilbert, but kept on reminding herself that Gil was with her, and that certainly made her feel a whole lot better.

A few days after the start of school, she met a Filipina named Maria Clara Dela Cruz who was now her best friend. Next to Gilbert that is.

"(Name)." A familiar voice called out to her. Turning her head, she expected to see the smiling face of Gilbert but instead, she saw Gilbert wearing a scowl on his pale face.

Immediately standing up after seeing this, (Name) asked with a worried expression, the second that Gilbert was right in front of her, "What's wrong?"

"Vat do you think is vrong?" He said, still scowling.

"G-Gil? I don't... I don't understand wha--"

 "You've been neglecting me, (Name)..." Gilbert said with a slightly trembling voice.

With that said, (Name)'s eyes widened in shock and vigorously shook her head. 

"No!" She practically screamed. "I haven't been neglecting you, Gil! Why would I? You're my best friend."

"You don't seem to think zat vay vhenever you're with Maria," stated Gilbert, his thick German accent kicking in. Getting a closer look at him, (Name) finally noticed the unshed tears in the usually cheerful German's eyes. 

(Name) the understood. Gilbert felt that she didn't want to hang out with him anymore now that she's got a new friend. Gilbert, the person who stuck with her no matter what happened. The very first and only person who tried so hard to talk to her when she was just a shy little girl. Her best friend that she secretly had a crush on. The person who probably hates her now.

'But it's not like that...' (Name) tried to say, but nothing came out. Her lips were trembling, her whole body was shaking. The thought of Gilbert hating her was too much for her.

Looking quite disappointed and sad, Gilbert turned to leave. Eyes wide, (Name) quickly stretched her arms got a hold of Gilbert. Burying her face against his back, not allowing him to leave. It was Gilbert's turn to be shocked now.

"(N-name)?" He stuttered, face red. He tried to turn around so he could face her but her grip on him was unbelievably tight for someone as small as her.

"I'm sorry..." She sniffled, her voice a little muffled against Gilbert's back.

Now panicking, Gilbert hurriedly said, "N-nein! You didn't do anything vrong!"

"Yes I did!" (Name)'s grip on him tightened. "I've been spending so much time with Maria that I hardly have any time left for you..."

"(Name)..." Gilbert's voice was as quiet as Matthew's. "You-"

"But I didn't forget about you!" (Name) continued as if she didn't hear anything that Gilbert just said. "I can never forget about you, Gil..."

"(Name)..." Gilbert called out again, his face heating up like before.

"You're my best friend..." (Name) mumbled.

Now that hurt. 

Taking hold of both of her arms that were still wrapped around his torso, Gilbert spun around and enveloped (Name) in a tight hug.

"I'm sorry..." He said as he buried his face in her soft (Hair Color) hair.

And nothing more was said after that as (Name) wrapped her arms around Gilbert once again.

'Even though you only see me as a friend I'll alvays love you, (Name)...'  

Nothing more was said until, "Hey, (Name)?" Gilbert continued when he heard (Name)'s muffled "Yes?"

"Let's go und play Paint War." Gilbert said with a grin, looking down at (Name).

"Way to ruin the mood Gil..."

~~~~~~~~~~ Age 16 ~~~~~~~~~~

(Name) was walking around Hetalia World Academy with one of her best friends, Maria, and a new Belarusian girl they just met named Natalia. She was kind of weird and creepy so that's why almost no one approached her on her first day here. Well, no one other than (Name) and Maria that is. And because of that, Natalia was able to make few but new friends.

"(Name)!" The (Nationality) snapped out of her thoughts.

"O-oh," she stuttered. "You were saying, Maria?"

"I was saying," Maria said. "Kuya ((Big brother)) Emilio keeps on bugging me about my hair. Should I cut it?"

"No," Natalia said. 

"I agree with Natalia." (Name) nodded.

"Why were you spacing out again anyway?" Maria raised her eyebrows. "Thinking of a certain Germa-- I mean Prussian again, huh?"

"Wha-what?! NO!" (Name) blushes. Well, she really wasn't thinking of Gilbert this time.

"Right.." Maria and Natalia said in unison. 

"Since it's lunch break and we don't have classes in the afternoon cause the teachers are holding a meeting, shall we just walk around?" Maria suggested.

The three girls just walked around the school campus while talking until they reached the school lawn. They were about to sit down when they heard someone calling for a certain (Hair color) haired girl.

"Hallo." Gilbert greeted them with his usual toothy grin.

"Hi," Maria and Natalia both greeted Gilbert with a knowing look at their friend.

"Hey you." (Name) returned the smile.

"So," Gilbert started. "I vas vondering if you girls vould like to play soccer with us?" 

"And by "us" you mean..?" Maria raised her eyebrow.

"Me, Emilio und Nikolai." Gilbert replied with the same grin.

Not a second after Gilbert said that, Maria and Natalia's eyes widened. 

"We're in!" Maria practically screamed while Natalia nodded.

"They're going down..." Natalia mumbled.

"Great!" Grabbing (Name)'s arm, Gilbert dragged her , while Natalia and Maria followed, towards the other two boys who were playing with a soccer ball. "Guys! I found opponents!"

"Bunso ((Youngest))!" Emilio grinned at Maria. "We're going against each other!"

"KUYA ((Big brother))!" Maria blushes from embarrassment. "Huwag mo akong tawaging bunso sa publiko, Kuya! ((Don't call me youngest in public, big brother))!"

"Alright, alright." Emilio said with a laugh and ruffled Maria's hair.

"You're going down." Natalia and Nikolai Arlovskaya both said in unison, glaring daggers at each other.

"They're both so competitive..." (Name) mumbled and sweat dropped.

"Come on, (Name)!" Gilbert laughed that weird laugh of his. "Let's play!"

"Umm... you guys can play. I'll just watch." (Name) said, smiling at the light haired Prussian.

"Aw come on, (Name)!" Maria said, grabbing (Name)'s arm.

"I von't play unless (Name) plays!" Gilbert stubbornly said and crossed his arms.

"Wha--? Guys..." The (Nationality) sighed and finally agreed to play. "You're acting like babies..."

~~~~~ Time skip after the game ~~~~~

The game ended and the boys won but knowing Maria and Natalia, they didn't like losing. Especially to their brothers. Because of that, the six of them had a rematch and they all eventually got tired which resulted to them agreeing that it was a tie and they'll settle the score the next time.

"(Name)!" Gilbert called out as (Name), Natalia and Maria were about to go. "Can I talk to you for a moment?"

"Yeah, sure." (Name) now stood in front of the "Awesome" Prussian. Maria and Natalia left first claiming that they were both hungry and agreed to meet up with (Name) at the dining hall once they've finished talking.

"So... um..." Gilbert started fidgeting. A light blush dusting his usually pale face. "Can you... meet me under zee Sakura Trees at sun set? It's Friday so ve're allowed to be out of our dorms until night time.."

"Hmm?" (Name) thought for a while if she had anything important to do. None. Well, if she did have something to do she would've canceled it. "Okay! But... why?"

"You'll find out later!" Gilbert grinned, no longer nervous. They bid each other farewell but before they went their separate ways, Gilbert added, "Oh! And vear something nice!"

After eating, the three girls went to the library and was now seated on the farthest corner of the room. Once they were seated and they were sure that the librarian was out of ear shot, (Name) told them that Gilbert wanted to see her at sunset and that she should wear something nice.

"It's a date, then?" Natalia asked with a slight smirk. This caused (Name) to violently shake her head and Maria to vigorously nod her head.

"I think he's gonna confess," Maria concluded and silently squeal.

"I kind of agree with her," Natalia nodded, a barely noticeable smile was forming on her lips.

Before the (Hair color) haired girl could even respond, Maria continued. "Think about it! You've been best friends since you were 6, he has never had a girlfriend before, he acts like your boyfriend, he wants to see you later at sun down and told you to wear something nice!"

"And he obviously likes you so..." Natalia added.

"He does not like me Nat..." (Name) mumbled, a light blush forming on her face.

"Oh yes he does," Maria said, wiggling her eyebrows and suddenly stood up with Natalia. "Now come on! You have to look nice! Let's find you a nice dress!"

(Name) doesn't usually wear dresses but today was an exception. Maria and Natalia almost dragged her back to their dorms and emptied her whole closet to look for something nice to wear. Turning to look at the mirror, (Name) saw her reflection only it was a little different looking as to what she looked like everyday.

She wore a short (Favorite color) dress with a sweetheart neckline. Maria and Natalia pressured her into wearing high heels but she wasn't really comfortable wearing them so instead, she wore a black wedge closed toe shoes with a black ankle strap.

"I am so going to take these off if I feel uncomfortable..." (Name) mumbled once again as Natalia was brushing her soft (Hair color) hair and put it in a nice tight but slightly messy bun.

"Oh shush!" Maria playfully said. "Now stop talking, I'm gonna do your make up." 

"Do I really need to wear make up?" (Name) groaned.

"Yes, now stop talking!"

The two girls finished preparing (Name) for her "date" fifteen minutes before she had to meet Gilbert. Taking a last look at herself in the mirror, she couldn't deny that she did look nice.

"Well, it's not everyday that I get to look like this so might as well make the most of it, huh?" (Name) thought.

"Go, (Name)!" Maria cheered as she shoved a (Second Favorite Color) purse at her containing her phone, hair brush and wallet.

"You don't want to be late." Natalia smiled ,which was rare even if they were really close, at her friend.

The two girls escorted her out of the dorms and walked her until they were really close to the Sakura Trees.

"Well, we have to go now (Name)!" Maria said. "Good luck!"

With that said, the two walked away and disappeared out of sight. She continued walking and turned right. She was expecting to see Gilbert sitting under one of the Sakura Trees and she was right. He was wearing a plain white button up shirt, black jeans, black shoes and a black button up jacket.

(Name) silently giggled at his choice of color and apparently, her giggle wasn't silent enough cause Gilbert heard her. This made him stand up and approach her.

"H-hey, (Name)!" He greeted her and started blushing like crazy. "Y-You look beautiful..."

"T-thank you.." (Name) started blushing as well. "You don't look so bad yourself."

Gilbert chuckled.

"Shall ve have a little valk?" He suggested.

"Why not?" (Name) replied, now smiling.

"But.... before that.. I have to tell you something." Gilbert said, a blush covering his pale face once again. He takes a deep breath, takes hold of both of your hands and looks directly into your clear (Eye Color) eyes.

"I like you, (Name), okay?" He started. "I really do... Ever since we were young. It even hurt me vhen you said zhat I vas your best friend because I vas afraid zhat you vill only see me as a friend und nothing more. I can't hide my feelings for you anymore, (Name). You make me smile even vhen I think it's impossible. My heart beats faster vhenever you're around. I really like you, (Name). Heck! Like is an understatement... I guess vhat I'm trying to say is... (Name), ich liebe dich ((I love you)). So much.."

By now, tears were rolling down (Name)'s face. It was a good thing that she didn't let Maria place too much eyeliner on her or else it would've totaly ruined this moment.

Gilbert let go of both of her arms and placed one hand on her cheeks while the other was brushing her tears away. "I-It's okay if you don't love me back..."

Her eyes widened in shock and she vigorously shook her head and hugged the stunned Prussian. He quickly hugged her back, his left hand soothingly rubbing her back while the other was patting her head.

"Gil?" She sniffled. "I-I love you, too..."

Gilbert quickly hugged (Name) tighter, buried his face on the crook of her neck and was now rocking her back and forth. "You don't know how happy I am right now..." He mumbled against her neck.

"I think I do..." She replied with a little smile. By now, the sun has already set but none of cared.

Gilbert straightened himself up, placed his hands on (Name)'s waist and placed his forehead against hers. Leaning in, he placed a kiss on her lips which she gladly returned.

"So..." He was the first to break the silence. "Are you like, my awesome girlfriend now?"

Giggling at his choice of words, (Name) nodded and placed her head on his chest.

Placing a small kiss on her head, the light haired Prussian said, "Shall ve have that valk now?"

And so, they walked among the Sakura trees enjoying each others company. Gilbert made (Name) wear his jacket sensing that she was feeling cold.

After a while, they both got a little bit tired and decided to call it a night. 

"I'll see you tomorrow, ja?" Gilbert said, still holding (Name)'s hand. They were now infront of her rather large dormitory that she shared with Maria and Natalia.

"Okay," (Name) replied with a smile as she looked up at the pale man standing in front of her that was now he boyfriend.

"Good night, liebe." Gilbert said and placed a kiss on her forehead, nose, cheeks and, finally, her lips.

After wishing him a good night as well, (Name) opened the door and went inside as Gil walked back to his own dormitory that he shared with Matthias and Alfred.

(Name) was very happy to know that her two best friends were now sound asleep and as she was about to take a shower, she remembered that she still had Gil's jacket.

'I'll just have to return it to him tomorrow then... or maybe not.' She thought and chuckled.

After her long and hot shower, she laid down on her bed and started thingking about her new boyfriend. As she was about to enter Lalaland, her phone vibrated. Groaning, she checked it just in case it was important only to see that it was a text from the one she was just thinking of.

"Good night again, liebe! ;)
Ich liebe dich. Don't forget that. :*
Oh! And let's play CoD tomorrow! :D
                            ~Your hot, sexy and awesome boyfriend, Gilbert.

Everything was perfect.
