Chapter Sixteen: Joining the Fight Club (Ainslie)
Let's be honest here. If anyone had a chance of winning, it was me. I mean, look at these guys! That one's holding the sword wrong, that one has the wrong stance, and that one is eating as he fights! Yeah, I can take them.
I grin at James, nodding in affirmation.
James's grin widened, and he put his arm on my shoulders.
"There may be a catch," He added, nonchalantly.
I raised my eyebrow at that, and put my hand on my hips. "What exactly does that mean?"
"No armor, and...." He mumbled out the last part, and I squinted as I stared at him.
"Repeat that last part," I instructed him, very suspicious.
"Well... if you happen to die.. the rule is, don't say anything about it.. I mean, it is strongly advised not to kill but..." He trailed off, and I stared at him, shocked.
"Well, I don't think I want to anymo-" I started, before he rudely cut me off.
"And I already signed you up, and signing up is a promise you'll play, or they'll come get you..." James is an idiot.
"Great, let's go." As we walked, I saw a poster to my left. It said that we could back out at any point, after we've won a battle. Just got to beat a wimp, then leave. Great!
I glared at James as we walked, angry that he's such an idiot. We finally got to registration, and he signed me up. When he was done, I stood in front of two people I could choose to be my opponent. They laughed, thinking it was an easy battle. Oh, how wrong they are.
One of them was a big many with a shaved head, and visible muscles. Next to him was a tall girl, with a sneer on her face, who looked more ripped than the man.
Now, I had to make a decision. Do I go with the man, or the woman?
If you choose to fight the man, head over to chapter thirty-one.
If you choose to fight the woman, go on down to chapter thirty-seven.
