Danny was sitting alone at a table in the lunchroom when Richard, Artemis, Barbara, Lucas, and Isabella sat with him. Danny looked irritated, "Can a guy not eat lunch in peace?"

Isabella spoke, "Not unless you start telling us what's going on."

"Over my dead body."

Barbara spoke, "Well if you want us to leave you alone that's the price."

"Over my rotting corpse."

Lucas spoke, "Then you're stuck with us."

Danny looked like he might hit something but Artemis spoke before he did, "So, Richard told me about your hero conversation."

Danny looked at Richard, "I'm going to kill you, and no one will find the body."

Isabella spoke, "What hero conversation?"

Richard spoke, "It's kind of complicated but basically Danny is smarter then he looks."

Danny looked pissed now, "I hate all of you."

They all smiled just a little until they heard someone next to them, "Hey."

They all looked and saw the kids that had been bullying Richard outside the school on Monday. Danny immediately looked like he wanted to kill them but he tried to control his temper, "What?"

The leader of the group glared at him, "We still haven't paid you back for Monday."

Danny stood up looking very unimpressed, "And?"

Another member of the group spoke, "And we're going to get you back for what you did."

"Yeah, I figured, but you're really going to fight me in a lunchroom full of people?"

A third member looked shocked and angry, "What?"

Danny rolled his eyes, "I'll say this in a way you can understand, I don't give a shit. I've met people that were worse then you who did worse shit then you can, so if you're going to fight me then fucking do it."

The leader looked pissed now and he attacked Danny, he forced Danny to the ground and punched him in the face. Danny pushed him off and quickly got up, the leader tried to attack him again but Danny punched him in the face. One of the kids' friends got behind Danny and grabbed his arms, the leader punched him in the stomach and Danny kicked him in the chest.

He headbutted the kid holding him and when he let go he grabbed the front of his shirt and threw him to the floor. The third kid tried to punch Danny and he blocked it, the kid tried to kick him and it hit Danny's shoulder. Danny punched him in the stomach and then the face, the kid fell to the floor and Danny looked mad.

Then someone shouted, "What is going on?!"

They all looked and saw the principle standing in the door to the lunchroom, he saw the end result of the fight and he looked angry. "You're all in big trouble."

Artemis stood up, "Danny didn't start the fight, he was defending himself."

Another girl at a nearby table stood up as well, "It's true, they attacked Danny first."

The principal looked at the three on the ground, "In my office, now."

The three got up and followed him to his office, Richard looked at Danny and he felt like his heart stopped, "Danny, you're bleeding."

Danny looked and saw that he was indeed bleeding, all of the wounds he'd gotten over the last several days had opened up. The two bullet wounds on his stomach, his shoulder, and his hand were all bleeding and now he was pissed. Danny walked out of the lunchroom and they all tried to follow him, Danny went into the bathroom so the girls couldn't go in.

Richard and Lucas still followed him in and Danny locked himself in one of the stalls, Lucas spoke, "Danny, open the door."

Danny glared at the door, "Go away."

Richard looked concerned, "Danny-."

Danny cut him off, "Just go the fuck away!"

Richard froze for a second, just when he thought he might be getting through to Danny something made him angry. It was like every time something bad happened he pushed everyone away again and Richard didn't know what to do. Richard and Lucas waited for a few minutes before Lucas decided to go wait with the girls.

Richard stayed and he leaned against the wall across from the stall Danny was in, "Danny, will you just talk to me?"

"What's there to talk about?"

"That fight for one, and why you have so many injuries."

"That wasn't even a fight, that was me kicking the asses of some stuck up rich kids that don't know when to quit. As for my injuries that's none of your damn business, now go away before I get really pissed."

"No, I'm staying."

Richard could get that Danny didn't want to talk but he wasn't leaving, he was almost afraid of what would happen if he did. Danny glared at the door but he knew he wasn't going to get Richard to leave, he was too stubborn. Danny took off his jacket and shirt while cursing the fact that he'd have to get the blood out of his uniform now.

He unwrapped the old bandages from his wounds and took new ones out of his bag and wrapped up his wounds again. Then he grabbed a new shirt out of his bag and put it on before putting his tie back on, though it hurt his hand. He didn't have another jacket and since it had blood on it he couldn't wear it unless he wanted people to freak out about it.

He packed up his stuff and left the stall only to find that Richard was still there and that just made him angrier. He tried to just walk out of the bathroom but Richard grabbed his arm to stop him, "Danny, what's wrong?"

Danny glared at him, "What's wrong, are you fucking kidding me, a few days ago I was almost kidnapped and shot. Then I got taken to a house full of people that I don't even know, now I have to go to a school full of a bunch of privileged idiots. And to top all of that off no matter how many times I keep saying to leave me alone you all keep bothering me."

Richard stared at him for a second in shock, "Why won't you give anyone a chance?"

Danny just snatched his arm away and left the bathroom, he threw the door open and didn't give anyone a chance to talk. He walked past them and they soon realized he was going to walk out of the school so they ran to stop him. Isabella got to him first and she had to grab his bag to stop him, "Danny, where are you going?"

"Anywhere but here."

Danny made her let go of his bag and he left, they didn't know what to do but when Richard ran after him they all followed. Danny had already crossed the street and he climbed a fence to cut through the alley, that wasn't good. They didn't know where he was going so if they lost sight of him they might not find him again.

They ran to catch up but Lucas and Isabella couldn't climb the fence, they ran the long way and try as they might they couldn't keep up with Danny. The group decided to call their parents and tell them what was going on in case the school called and they'd try to find Danny. Meanwhile, Danny just walked through the streets, he didn't have any destination in mind so he just kept walking.

After about twenty minutes he looked around and he hated everything, he was in front of the foster home. But it wasn't like he had somewhere he wanted to go so he walked up to the door only to find that it was locked. He growled to himself, he didn't want to use his powers if he didn't have to so he checked under the mat.

He didn't find a key but he decided to check the door frame above the door, sure enough he found a key and he used it to unlock the door. Once he was inside he looked at the key, he thought about just tossing it somewhere but in the end he replaced it above the door. He locked the door again and went up to his temporary room, he threw his bag on the bed and took a few deep breaths.

While he did Lucas said they should check their house first, if they were lucky he might have gone there. They didn't have any better ideas so they went to the house, the door was still locked but they went inside anyway. Isabella led them to Danny's room and the door was closed, they were hoping that meant he was inside.

Danny felt like he'd finally calmed down a little and decided to change his shirt, he wasn't particularly fond of button ups. He took off his shirt and opened the dresser to get a different one, as he was looking Isabella opened the door. They all stood there in shock and Richard felt like he finally figured out why Danny was always so angry.

He had scars everywhere, well everywhere that they could see, but the ones that stuck out the most were the ones on his back. It looked like someone had carved wings into his back and the wings covered most of his back, that had to be painful. Isabella let go of the door handle and the door creaked a little, Danny looked at them and he was definitely pissed.

If looks could kill they'd be dead, Danny glared at them, "Get out!"

They did, Barbara immediately closed the door and none of them spoke for a moment, Artemis broke the silence, "You guys saw that right?"

Richard spoke, "How did he get those scars?"

Isabella looked like she might cry, "Don't, I don't want to think about it."

Lucas spoke, "But we have to, who would do that to someone?"

That's what they were scared to think about, who did that to Danny, and what else did they do?
