The weekend came and went, Danny barely left his temporary room and didn't talk a whole lot, it seemed like something else was on his mind. Of course he wouldn't tell anyone about it and they all felt like they were treading on thin ice as it was. Now it was Monday and they had school, but more then that it was the start of Danny's second week.

Since they now knew that he'd never gone to a school for more then a few days since he was twelve, they took it as a win. Danny, however, didn't seem to be in a celebratory mood, granted he seemed to be in a better mood then normal but still. He barely said a word and would stare at something blankly unless something took him out of his own head.

By the time the end of the day rolled around Isabella, Lucas, Richard, Artemis, and Barbara were all worried. After school ended Richard found Danny at his locker, he was a bit nervous but spoke anyway, "Hey, is something wrong?"

Danny paused and he thought about how much he should tell Richard, the less he knew the better. He spoke slowly, "It's complicated."

Richard did his best to smile, "Then you can tell me about it when it's less complicated."

Danny almost felt bad because if everything went like it was supposed to he wouldn't be going back to the foster home. He definitely wouldn't be coming back here, the two walked out of the school together and found the others outside. Artemis said she was going to start walking home, Barbara's dad was there to pick her up, and Richard's ride was waiting for him.

He almost felt like he should say something as he watched them walk away, this would be the last time he saw them. But he didn't, he let them walk away without saying anything, it was better this way, it's not like they would miss him when he was gone anyway. Isabella and Lucas said that they should go home too and it annoyed him, he didn't have a home.

They walked back to the foster home and Danny went to the room he'd been staying in so he could think. He'd memorized the entire building's layout, all the shift changes, all the patrol routes, even the positions of the cameras. The shipment was being delivered tonight, he needed to get in and find out what they were hiding before getting back out.

He had one shot at this, he couldn't mess it up, not when he was so close to finally being able to leave. For a brief second he thought that he didn't want to leave, he got rid of the idea, he refused to get held back by people that were just going to hurt him. So he got ready to head out, he wouldn't need much, once he left he wasn't planning on coming back.

He waited until it was night and everyone was asleep before leaving through the window, there was no turning back now. He made his way to the facility, he didn't have to wait long for the truck to arrive, it drove into the facility and the shipment was taken off the truck. He started heading in, he transformed and got to the large fence around the building.

It was electrified but that wasn't a problem for him, he climbed over and landed on the ground without anyone seeing him. He hid while he waited for two guards to pass before quickly running to one of the side doors, the camera turned away and he got inside. Now he needed to find the shipment, he was sure it was going to the lab which was on the second floor on the opposite side of the building.

He ducked into a room and two guards went outside to guard the door he'd just come in through. He made his way down the hall and hid below a camera so it wouldn't see him, when it turned away he made a break for it. He was almost to the stairs, he hid in a dark corner while two more guards passed and reached the stairs. He hid under them when a camera panned to where he was, when it looked away he jumped onto the railing to get to the second floor.

He didn't have enough time to just climb the stairs and this was the quickest way to get up without risking getting caught. Now to get to the lab, Danny made his way through the halls to the lab when he heard more guards coming, they were early. He looked around and tried the door of the nearest room, locked, he tried the second door as they were about to round the corner.

It was unlocked, he quickly ran inside and closed the door before locking it, he quietly sighed in relief. He then heard a strange tapping noise and he looked behind him, there was a strange containment chamber behind a glass wall. The door into the other half of the room was open and he walked through it, where did the tapping come from?

He looked at the containment chamber, it wasn't that big, part of it looked like reinforced glass. From the looks of it that was also the part that opened, he was very confused now, what did they need this for? Something then hit the glass, there was something in there, he saw what it was but had no idea what it could be, was it alive?

It hit the glass again and it cracked, it definitely wanted out of that thing and he didn't think it would be good if it got out. He was about to turn to run out of the room when it broke the glass, alarms started going off and the thing jumped on him. He fell to the floor and quickly sat up, it was gone, he had no idea what just happened but he needed to go.

He quickly got up and made a break for the door, he left the room and heard running footsteps, shit. Several guards ran into the hallway and Danny turned to run the other way but guards showed up on that end too. This was bad, very bad, they aimed their guns at him and Danny heard a voice in his head, 'Duck.'

His eyes widened, "What?"

'Duck!'

Danny dove to the floor just as they started shooting, but the weird thing was that he hadn't moved his body. It was like something else moved it, he could worry about that later, right now he had to worry about getting out of this place alive. He slid past the guards and jumped down the stairs, he had to get out, the door he came in through was blocked.

His best bet was the loading dock, he went right and ran toward where the loading dock was, but there were more guards. He heard a strange growl in his head and his body moved on it's own, he took down the guards, or whatever was controlling him did. He got his body back and he finally reached the loading dock, unfortunately several guards were waiting for him.

He growled to himself and the voice spoke, 'I can help you fight them.'

"How?"

Danny then saw something covering his body, that definitely wasn't normal, it completely took over and attacked the guards. It was fast but didn't seem to be too strong, 'Hey, if you're going to use my body to fight let me fight too.'

"How?"

'When I tell you to give me control.' He could feel it get slightly irritated but it didn't argue, it ran at the guards, 'Now.'

It gave him control and Danny kicked the guard in the chest, he grabbed another guard's shirt and threw him at some of the others. He felt it's surprise, 'You are stronger then you look.'

"No shit, now we need to get out of here before more of these guys show up."

Danny looked around and all of the guards were down, 'Let me bite off their heads and pile their bodies up in the corner.'

"What, why?"

'To make a statement.'

"We're not making that statement."

Danny ran out of the loading dock and toward the fence, it was confused, 'We?'

"Yeah, we, we're kind of stuck together for right now so it's we."

It was quiet and Danny quickly climbed the fence, he landed on the ground and the guards were already after them. 'Let me take over, I will get us out of here.'

Danny nodded and it took over, he had to admit that it was weird not having control over his own body but this wasn't the worst thing that had ever happened to him. Of course he could have teleported but he'd rather not risk someone seeing him, that could cause problems. They reached town quicker then Danny thought they would and he took over before hiding in an alley.

He transformed and looked around to make sure no one saw him before moving onto the sidewalk and walking. The voice spoke, 'You are not human.'

"Nope, not entirely, not anymore."

'Your name is Danny, right?'

"Yeah, how'd you know my name?"

'I looked in your head, you are called Phantom in your other form.'

"Yup, so what's your name?"

'Toxin, I am a Symbiote.'

"Symbiote, don't you mean parasite?"

'Parasite?!'

Danny winced, "Stop shouting, and what were you doing in that building anyway?"

'I am not sure, they brought me there not long before you showed up.'

Danny stopped, "You were the shipment." Danny rubbed his eyes as he thought, "Okay, we need to get somewhere safe, they'll be after both of us now."

'But where can we go?'

A place immediately popped into Danny's head and he felt like throwing something, "I know where we can go."

Danny started walking again and it didn't take too long before they reached the foster home, Danny snuck in through the window and stepped into his room.
