It had been about two days since Danny was taken to this new foster home and this was his first day of school. Up until now Danny had mostly stayed in his room, Mary and John had gotten him school supplies. They drove him and the others in a van, Danny, Lucas, and Isabella were all going to the same school but the twins were still in middle school.

So the three got dropped off first and Danny immediately noticed something, it's a fucking rich kid school. He wondered why they were wearing the same uniform and he had his answer, honestly it should have been obvious. Isabella and Lucas waved goodbye to John and Mary but Danny just walked toward the school.

At least he would only be here for a day, whatever they were transporting was supposed to get there that same night. Danny was so absorbed in his thoughts that he ran into something and fell, now he was getting pissed. He looked at what he ran into and found out that it was actually someone, well shit.

The guy he ran into looked at him, "Sorry about that."

Danny wanted to be mad but for some reason he just couldn't be anymore, he shrugged, "I wasn't paying attention."

The guy smiled nervously, "I wasn't paying attention either." He handed Danny the schedule and the teen took it, "I'm Richard by the way."

"Danny."

Richard glanced at the schedule Danny was now holding, "I'm guessing your new?"

Danny glared at him a little, "Got a problem with that?"

Richard put up his hands in surrender, "I was just going to offer to show you around."

Danny glanced at where Isabella and Lucas had been, they had disappeared so Danny quietly sighed, "Sure."

Richard helped Danny up and took him to the office first, Danny got his books and dropped them off at his locker. Richard then showed him around the school, surprisingly enough they found that they had the same classes. Fortunately they had enough time to also get to their first class before the bell rang which was good for them.

Classes were boring and Danny's mind wandered, that is, until he noticed that some of the other kids were messing with Richard. It was subtle enough that the teacher didn't see but Danny did and it pissed him off, unfortunately he couldn't do anything about it right now. When lunch finally came around he got his lunch and sat at the only empty table and ate as he thought.

This was the third day, he would find out what they were taking to that building soon and he would be out of here. He was taken out of his thoughts when someone sat down next to him and he saw Richard who smiled at him. Danny raised an eyebrow, "What are you doing?"

Richard shrugged, "Eating lunch with you."

"Why?"

Richard looked slightly confused but before he could ask any more questions four more people sat across from the two. It was Isabella and Lucas along with two people he didn't know, Isabella smiled at him, "Hi Danny."

The girl next to her with blonde hair spoke, "Wait, this is Danny, you're new brother?"

Danny looked mildly irritated, "Let's not go that far."

A girl with orange hair leaned closer to Lucas, "You weren't kidding when you said he could be rude."

Danny looked at her, "I heard that."

The girl looked away seeming slightly ashamed and Isabella tried to break the tension, "Um, this is Artemis." She indicated the blond girl next to her, "And that's Lucas's friend Barbara." She pointed to the girl with orange hair.

Danny didn't look impressed, "Good for them."

Artemis glared at him, "What is your problem?"

While she spoke she stood up and grabbed the front of Danny's shirt, the sudden movement was not good for his still healing bullet wounds. He just grabbed her wrist and made her let go, Lucas gasped, "Oh my god."

Danny let Artemis go and Richard's eyes widened, "You're bleeding."

Danny pretended to look shocked, "Oh my god I'm human, who would have thought?"

Artemis spoke, "Why are you bleeding?"

He glared at her, "Why do you think, I got shot."

Isabella looked slightly frantic, "Shot, when did you get shot?"

Danny looked at her, "How do you think the police caught me in the first place, some guy tried to kidnap me and he shot me twice before the police got there. Now if you'll excuse me I have to go stop the bleeding because the stitches are probably torn now."

Danny then left and went to the bathroom, thank god he was cautious so he had extra bandages and another shirt in his bag. It took about ten minutes to take care of the wounds and change, by the time he was done lunch was almost over. Meanwhile, Richard felt a bit worried about Danny after hearing he got shot a few days ago.

He'd run into Danny that morning, literally, so that must have been painful, he didn't want to think about what would have happened if Danny had actually been kidnapped. Barbara looked at Lucas, "Did you know Danny got shot?"

Lucas quickly shook his head, "No, I don't think my parents knew either."

Isabella spoke, "They would have told us if they did, Emma and Liam could have hurt him when they hugged him so they would have warned them."

Artemis was silent, she felt bad for not only snapping at him despite not even knowing him but also causing the wounds to open up in the first place. The bell eventually rang to signal the end of lunch and they hadn't seen Danny, if Danny wasn't in class by the time it started he was going to look for him.

Richard got to class and found that Danny was already there looking less then happy, Richard couldn't blame him. Richard sat next to him, "Hey, are you okay?"

"I'm fine so drop it."

Richard quietly sighed but didn't say anything else about it, Danny waited for class to start and when it did he was bored. The day felt like it was dragging on, the worst part was that he actually kind of liked Richard. In the other schools he had been enrolled in everyone was too scared to talk to him, or thought they were better then him.

Richard was the first person that had even tried in a long time, Isabella and Lucas probably only did it because he had to live with them. It wouldn't matter though, during the night he would find out what he needed to know and disappear. That's why he was happy when the end of the day came, no more school and no more thinking about people he barely knew.

Or so he thought, Isabella and Lucas had caught up to him after school saying they had to walk home. Richard had already told Danny he was heading home so he found it slightly odd when he saw Richard standing just inside the gate. There were a few other people and he figured out what was going on pretty quickly, he was beyond pissed now.

Lucas and Isabella ran ahead of him and Danny was trying to force himself to stay calm, it wasn't working. Barbara and Artemis were already there but they couldn't do much from the looks of it, Isabella and Lucas couldn't even get past their friends. Things weren't looking good, about five guys were bullying Richard and the only people willing to do something about it couldn't.

The leader of the group laughed at the teen, "The gypsy needs his little friends to come and save him."

One of the kids pushed Lucas, Isabella went to help him while Barbara and Artemis kept trying to get to Richard. The leader looked pleased with himself, "You're just a circus freak no one wants."

Danny felt himself snap, he pushed his way through the crowd and grabbed the guy by his shirt, "Give me a reason, give me one fucking reason."

One of the guy's friends pushed Danny away and the leader punched him, Richard was shocked, Artemis and Barbara froze, and Isabella and Lucas looked terrified. Danny just smirked, "You just fucked up."

One or two of the guys friends actually backed up a little, one tried to attack Danny, the teen twisted his arm behind his back and forced him to the ground. Everyone but the leader backed up, Danny let the one he took down go because he didn't want him getting in the way. The leader tried to punch Danny but he easily side stepped it, he grabbed the back of his collar and tossed him on the ground.

He placed his foot on the guy's chest, not to hurt him, or even hold him down, he did it to further his point. Danny glared at him, "If you ever mess with them again I will know and I won't be so nice next time."

He then walked over to Richard and helped him up before looking at the crowd that had gathered, "Leave." They didn't have to be told twice, after they were gone Danny started walking back to the foster home, Isabella and Lucas quickly caught up.
