Henry 

We closed out the school year pretty good. Piper will be going to a different school next year since the kids at her current one kept harassing her. Surprisingly she'll be at Pizza Boy's school, they aren't dating yet and I don't want them to until Piper is 16 but I'm not cruel enough to actually enforce it. 

"Henry?" Piper's voice softly asks after knocking on my door. I sit up in bed. 

"Think of the devil," I mutter. 

"Come in." I call out. Piper comes in and closes the door behind her.

"Is Charlotte not back yet?" I ask her.

"No, she will be soon. Aren't you glad they moved the wedding?" Piper whispers.

"What's wrong Piper?" I ask her and she sighs. She sits on the edge of my bed and crosses her legs.

"Am I ugly?" She asks and I immediately shake my head.

"No, you're beautiful. Come on, you're my sister. Our parents may have failed in every other department but they do make some good looking kids." I say and Piper cracks a smile.

"I don't know, Jeremy hasn-"

"Pizza Boy you mean?" I interject and Piper groans. I know she wants to smile.

"Fine yes Pizza Boy, he hasn't asked me out." Piper finished off with a pout.

"Piper you're what, 12?" I ask her and she stick out her tongue.

"Soon to be 13." She says and I give her a blank look.

"Fine, maybe not so soon to be 13." She says and I roll my eyes.

"Give it time, from what I get he's what? 2 years older than you, maybe he just wants to wait til you're a good age so your big brother doesn't have to fuck him up for harassing his 12 year old sister." I say with a smile and this time she gives me the blank look. Then she smiles.

"Okay thanks Hen." Piper says and then she leaves. I just smile and lay back down. I love that she trusts me with stuff. Something feels off, I sit up and groan since my door is wide open. I throw my upper body against the bed and flop around in a fit of temporary anger.

"Piper! Close the door!" I yell out and seconds later the door closes.

"Crybaby!" She yells.

"Thanks!" I yell back. I just lay in bed and close my eyes. I have to start treatment tomorrow. I have no idea what it's going to be like or if it'll even help. I just groan again. Why can't I just sleep for 5 years? 

"What are you groaning about?" I hear my favorite voice speak. I immediately perk up and get out of bed. I squash Charlotte in a hug and slam my lips on hers. I pull away and carry her to bed. 

"Hen, you've gotta stop doing stuff like that." She breathes out once I sit down on the bed with her on my lap.

"Nope, never." I say and just smile.

"Don't you have work today?" She asks me and I just nod. 

"Get up and get ready then, is it possible I can get a job there?" She asks hopefully. I sigh.

"I'll ask Ray." I say and she smiles.

"Really?" She confirms and I nod.

"Yeah, I'll call immediately if he says something." I say and get up. I get out some clothes to wear to work.

"How come anytime before you get ready you glance at that watch in your drawer?" She asks me.

"Huh I never even noticed I did that. I'll tell you about it later. That watch stopped working a long time ago." I say to her and head into the bathroom. I close the door and start the shower.  I get inside after setting my stuff down on the toilet and undressing. 

Truth be told, the watch functions perfectly but it was my Kid Danger watch and there hasn't been any real "villain" crime since I was 13. The watch has become typical and so has my job at Junk 'N Stuff. Ray doesn't beep me on the watch because there are no more emergency calls, he gave me a regular job schedule and I follow it. He's pretty lenient considering that no one really comes into the store anyways. Occasionally Jasper does stop by to pick up a shift or two without his mom knowing though because him working there actually caused a huge argument between his parents. 

I wash myself and step out. I spot baby oil on the sink counter and I oil myself down. I smile knowing until Char lived with me I had no idea what baby oil was. I pat myself dry and wrap my towel around my waist. I walk to the bathroom door and open it, as soon as I step out I hear Charlotte squeal. I look over to our bed to see her covering her face.

"Charlotte what are you doing?" I ask her as I walk over to her.

"You better not be naked. You almost did that to me once, Henry I swear you better have clothes on." She threatens and I chuckle.

"I have a towel on, uncover your eyes silly." I lightly tease her and she smiles then uncovers her eyes.

"Sweet Jesus, go put clothes on before I jump you." She says and then wolf whistles. I pose and smolder. 

I stick out my tongue afterwards and she sprawls out on the bed and pretends to die. I laugh.

"Like what you see?" I ask cheekily.

"You just sent me to cloud 9." She murmurs and I laugh. 

"Okay sexy go get dressed." She says as she pops back up. She climbs off the bed and starts to push me to the bathroom.

"Yes ma'am." I say and then soldier march to the bathroom after she's already pushed me halfway to the bathroom. I close the door and I swear I hear her giggling. I definitely love our relationship. I dress myself and emerge from the bathroom once more. Char immediately starts clapping.

"Fabulous darling fabulous." She says in a prim voice and I just take a bow and do a little spin. I flip my hair and we both burst into a fit of laughter. 

"Ah man, it sucks that you have to leave. I always have so much fun when you're around. Text me when you get to work." Charlotte says. She walks up to me and kisses me. Before she fully pulls away, I wrap my arms around her waist and pepper kisses all over her cheeks, nose, chin, jawline and on her lips.

"I want goodbye kisses." I say with emphasis on the 'es'. She just smiles sweetly and places a kiss on my forehead, cheeks, nose and finally places one more on my lips. We both smile into the kiss and after pulling away we hug. Slowly we release each other and Charlotte gets into bed.

"You gonna take a nap?" I ask as I grab my phone and wallet.

"Yup, I'm tired as hell." She says and I walk to our bedroom door. 

"Okay, goodnight sweet cheeks." I say and she laughs then places a pillow over her face. I turn off the light and open the door. 

"I love you!" She calls out from under the pillow as soon as I'm in the doorway.

"I love you too!" I call and then close the door behind me. I walk into the living room and slip on my shoes by the door.

"Pipes! I'm going to work, come lock the door, I'll see ya later, love ya. Don't die and no pizza boy!" I shout to her and right before I close the door I hear her response,

"Ugh fine, later love you too dork!" I just smile and close the door behind me. I hear the door lock and I finally make my way down and out.

"Henry! When do we get to meet your girlfriend?" Ray asks plopping down next to me on the couch and smiling really wide.

"Yeah, I wanna meet Charloot." Schwoz says plopping down on the other side of me. I groan and just put my head back. Schwoz smacks my throat and I smack his head.

"Ow! What you do that for?" Schwoz yells and rubs his head.

"You smacked my throat. Now, I actually wanted to talk to you about Charlotte." I turn to Ray after scolding Schwoz.

"Yes yes go on." Ray rushes me.

"She wants to know if she can work here, we could use the extra paycheck." I say to Ray.

"Ugh now I gotta split my money 3 ways." Ray groans and Schwoz looks at him weirdly.

"What you mean?" Schwoz says and Ray's eyes widen. I facepalm.

"You don't pay Schwoz?" "Henry gets paid?" Schwoz and I say at the same time. Schwoz growls and tackles Ray. I'll let them fight for a bit, I want to see if I've still got my speed. I take off into a run and before I know it I'm in the back bathroom. I smile and zoom back to see Ray and Schwoz wrestling. I check my phone to see that the time is still the same. Then I get an idea. I throw my phone in the air race around the room and come back in time to catch it. I jog to the elevator door and throw my phone across the room. I run to the snack machine and catch my phone. I smile to myself, I'm quite satisfied. I've still got it. Hold on, didn't I lose it?

I broke up Schwoz and Ray and they both look at me astonished.

"Your speed? Whaaaat?" Ray says in a voice that clearly displays he's not surprised.

"Schwoz." I say threateningly and he throws his arms up.

"It was all Ray! He made me lie!" 

"Schwoz!"

"He can kill you not me!"

"Calm down, I'm not gonna kill anyone. Why'd you guys lie to me?" I ask.

"Your anger got out of control at one point and you wreaked havoc and I had to stop you, as Captain Man. I didn't want that to happen again so I erased that memory from everyone who saw and made you think it was a dream. Then I made your powers dormant long enough for you to think they were gone." Ray admits.

"Sure take credit for my work." Schwoz scowls.

"Now's not the time for this!" Ray yells and Schwoz hmphs. I just shake my head and laugh at them.

"It's cool, Charlotte can work here?" I ask and they both nod. 

"That's all I care about. I'm going home now and Ray, start paying Schwoz." I say and go into the elevator. Once I'm upstairs, I exit locking the door behind me and turning off the light. I unlock my phone and pull out my keys. I call Charlotte and she answers immediately.

"It's nearly 11, are you heading home?" She asks worriedly. I smile, I love how she worries over me.

"Sure am babe, I'll be there in 15 minutes. Did you cook or should I pick up something?" I ask her as I start to walk to my car.

"I made spaghetti and garlic bread. Your food is sitting wrapped up in the microwave." She answers.

"Oh you're so good to me. Thank you love." I say to her silently counting my blessings that she's mine.

"Henry, I feel like we're 25 but then I remember we're only 16 and that we were forced to grow up early. We're fending for ourselves at 16, why couldn't we be normal?" Charlotte says remorsefully. I hear the crack in her voice. She starts sniffling and my heart breaks.

"Charlotte, I don't know. Just know neither of us deserved any of the shit we went through. But hey, we still turned out pretty fine though. Sure we grew up quicker but we're both happy and that's all that matters right?" I say soothingly. I stop in front of my car and unlock the door. I get inside and wait for Charlotte to respond.

"Okay, thanks Hen. I'm sorry I started crying. I feel like a little bitch. I hope it's just my period coming." Charlotte breathes out and I smile knowing she's okay.

"I'll be home in a few, love you sweetcheeks." I coo.

"Love you too, see you. Drive safe" She says and then hangs up. Man, my life has done a complete 360. So much so that my favorite part of my day is coming home when it used to be going out.
