Experiment 6- No Reaction

Hello everyone! 

I hope your week went well and you read some good stories, or wrote some! 

This week is something different, something out of the ordinary. Having 'no reaction' to unpleasant things happening around us.

I've put the video in early because it's important to watch. Did you know reportedly 85% of us have low self esteem? Life deals blows. Bad things happen and especially as we are kids and even younger adults. We can internalize this hurt, which then just like cancer, eats us away. So, what do we do? Liberation!! 

Can we break free from this damage? This week's experiment will put this to the test! And I personally think it is so important. All the thinking positive and trying to change matters not if we have self loathing. And life will not cease to be stressful.

How do we do this? Is it simply 'be a robot' and 'put up a wall'? No! Of course not! When you see a stressful situation happening, you simply pause. Pause and don't give it your attention. Don't react how you normally would (ie, yell, tense up, argue, make hand gestures, let anger spill over or fear). Instead. .do the opposite. The exact opposite. Smile, breathe deeply in then out, keep your voice low, don't react. The situation around you will diffuse. It might continue but your reaction diffuses it, for you

Personally, I've been applying this and I've noticed I haven't perpetuated stressful situations, which has been amazing for me. Also, it's actually diffused certain people's reaction's because they see I'm not reacting. For a practical example, I have been non reactive to some of my sons behaviors. He noticed immediately, smart kid he is. And then his reaction was lower, and that has made everything different! For the immediate better. 

So please, do try this experiment with me this week! Let's see what we can change for ourselves. Come back next week to share your findings, and I will do the same.
