Experiment 3-Meditation

"Everywhere I go, I still have time to meditate. People think meditating is sitting there, nobody bothering you, but you can even talk and still meditate." - Jet Li

Hello friends!

I'm hoping you are having a wonderful time trying out positive thinking/imagining and or talking to your rice jars. A sentence I never thought I'd say haha! This week is about meditation. If you are already saying 'oh no. I don't have time for that!' please, don't dismiss it yet! There are a huge variety of settings you can meditate in. Meditation by definition is simply engaging in mental exercise for the purpose of reaching a heightened level of awareness. In layman's terms, it's focusing your thoughts.

Where do we do this at? Some swear by meditating in a quiet place, alone and uninterrupted. Others do it while driving (yes, driving). And some find a few minutes in parts of their days to stop and practice a short meditation. In short, where you decide to do this at doesn't matter. It's individualized and could change daily depending on your schedule.

How do you meditate? Empty your mind of your 'now worries', and racing thoughts. Take some deep breaths and focus on the moment. Where you're at, the sounds around you (cue playing a meditation track or soft instrumental or nature music if you can or desire) and let your mind just be. The mind will quiet pretty rapidly, and you'll feel yourself begin to relax. Don't force it, you're still you! It's a gradual awareness of being in the present moment.

What is the benefit of doing this? The biggest and most substantial benefit is LESS STRESS. We can all use that! Stress affects our nervous systems and our ability to fight off diseases and infections. It also rapidly ages us. I know, I've been in a perpetual state of stress for years, and I have benefited tremendously the past weeks that I started meditating randomly throughout the day. I can attest it works!

So, if you are willing, let's try this week's experiment together! At least once a day. I've inserted a few good meditation tracks I found if you want to try this at night/before a nap. As well as during the day, either time is good! But you can do this without. It's simply a time you calm your brain down. Let's meet back up at the end of the week in the comments and share how it went and how it helped!

See you back here in one week! Happy experimenting! ❤️❤️🥼😶🗣️🧘🏻‍♀️

Welcome back! Results one week later contained below. Don't keep reading if you have just started the experiment.

First off I have to say this week's experiment was amazing for me personally! I found it easier to do after the first few times, and enjoyable. Quieting my mind can be very difficult but I was able to and I found that peaceful feeling lasted after the 'mini session'.

How did it go for you?

Did you have time to do this in solitude or did you try it with others around?

I didn't use music or videos every time because I did this in the car most days, but in the evening I did use aids. I plan to take at least a few minutes a day to mediate going forward. I hope you do too!
