Chapter 20
Arthit's POV
"Arthit! Arthit! Wakeup! Arthit!"
"Hmm..."
"Arthit! Wakeup! You need to go home."
"Hmm..."
I covered myself with the bed sheet, pulling it over my head. I'm still sleepy. Kong tried to uncover me, but I'm holding on to the bed sheet with all my strength. He then started to tickle me through the bed sheet. I laughed in fits of giggles with no way of retaliating.
I was twisting and thrashing from side to side laughing so hard. The bed sheet wrapped around me like an egg roll. I was actually trapped.
Kongpob climbed on top straddling me. He pulled the sheet from my head, and peppered kisses all over my face.
"Chup Get up. Chup You need to go home. Chup Before everyone wakes up. Chup"
I answered him with my eyes still closed. I'm not ready to see daylight yet. Why can't the nights be longer? I do all three of my favorite things at night.
I sighed heavily, and reluctantly opened my eyes to my boyfriend blinding me with his signature smile. I would have returned him the favor if it wasn't so damn early.
"Fine. What time is it?"
"It's almost 6."
"Ugh. No wonder why I'm still sleepy. Can't we just snuggle a bit longer? Hmmm....na..na.."
I pouted, but Kong just shook his head and kissed my pout.
"You need to go now before Grammy wakes."
I reluctantly got up. I looked down at myself, and then at Kong in his boxer briefs. Yep, too bad. No time.
I sat on the edge of the bed while Kong got me ready. He picked up my t-shirt that was abandoned last night, and put it on me. Then he did the same with my shorts. Standing in front of me, he ran his fingers through my hair trying to fix a few wayward strands.
I hugged him. I love his scent with or without his cologne. I love that we are about the same height. I can lay on his shoulder, and he can lay on mine without either one of us bending down. We fit together like pieces of a puzzle, perfectly connecting with no room for space.
"Hey, you need to go." Kong whispered beside my ear before kissing it.
"Five more minutes."
Holding him, I rocked us side to side.
"No, Arthit. Behave."
"Fine.
I think it's still way too early. Why would anyone want to get up this early for no reason? Kong is just being ridiculous. I quietly made it out of Kong's house.
"Good morning Arthit."
Damn it. I only made it halfway across the yard. I slowly turned around to see my Grammy sitting on the bench near the rose bushes.
"Good morning Grammy. Why are you up so early?"
"Old people can't sleep so much. I used to sleep like a log when I was your age. So, why are you up so early? How come you were at Kongpob's house?"
"Oh, I uh...uh have uh a quiz today. So,..uh we uh were cramming for the quiz. Kong was helping me study, and it got too late, so I fell asleep."
"He is such a wonderful boy. I'm glad you have such a smart and kind friend to help you with your studies. I blame my old age for not being able to visit more. You two are like peas in a pod. I have missed spending time with you two. Do you remember how you would used to eat your ice cream cone really fast, and then cry for his when you were done with yours? He always gave you the rest of his."
"Haha. I do remember that. He was just a sucker for my cuteness. Grammy, do you really like Kongpob?"
"Of course sweetie. He is almost as dear as my own grandbabies. He is such a wonderful child, I am really hoping that next time I'm here, he will get to meet Jane."
"Who is Jane?" I'm irritated with all these new random people popping up. I already have a whole school to deal with.
"She is Aom's sister. I mentioned her yesterday. It would be perfect if you two married two sisters. You two will be a real family, and always be friends. Aom is a very sweet girl. She keeps me company all the time. I just want my Arthit to have someone as nice as her. Grammy won't be around for too long. I just want to see my grandbabies find their other half."
I stood there making little divots in the ground. Listening to Grammy ramble on about how wonderful Kong and this Jane would be together. How we would have cute babies to raise together if we married the sisters. This week is going to be really long.
"Uh, Grammy I need to go freshen up and get ready for school."
"Oh, of course baby. Go ahead. I will go check to see if they need any help with breakfast."
I gave Grammy a kiss on the cheek before running in the house.
Belle: Arthit. Did you see Grammy outside?
Arthit: Uh, yes. She wakes up really early.
Belle: Yes, she does. A lot earlier than you can be. You should go get ready, and come down for breakfast.
Arthit: Okay.
I went to my room, and slumped on my bed. I wonder if Kong will come over for breakfast. I probably should tell him not to. I don't want him to have to hear Grammy spout the same spiel to him. But then I want him to come to my room to cuddle a little bit more before school. No no, it's better that he doesn't hear about this Jane.
So, I texted Kong to let him know to just meet me outside after breakfast.
However, when I headed downstairs, I heard Aunt Nomi's voice. I guess Kong didn't get my message. Oh damn it! I still have his phone.
I made my way to the dining room, and I saw Aom standing there, hovering over Kong's shoulder with her phone in her hand showing him something. Aunt Nomi has a worried look on her face sitting next to my mom. Krystal hasn't come down yet, and I don't see my dad. Grammy is all smiles talking to my mom and Aunt Nomi. I slowly approached them.
Arthit: Good morning.
"Good morning." They responded in unison.
Kong gave me a nervous smile. I wondered why is he here, and what are they looking at. So, I went to take my seat next to Kong.
Arthit: What are you guys looking at?
I peered over leaning into Kong. I take in a whiff of his musky scent, and stretched my neck to see what's on the phone. Seeing me stretch, Aom moved from Kong's other side to cut in between us, and show me pictures of a girl on her phone. I instinctively wanted to shove her away, but I controlled myself.
Aom: Grammy asked me to show some of my sister's pictures to Kongpob. She's pretty, right? Everyone says she's the pretty one.
Grammy: Aom, you are just as pretty. You and Arthit are so cute together. You two would never have a dull moment. I really should have asked Jane to come too. You young people would have so much fun together.
Aom: Grammy, it's not like that.
Aom takes her seat across from me, and smiles. I smiled back politely while I'm screaming internally.
Grammy: Jane is a little shy, but sweet nonetheless. The more I think about it, the more perfect she is for Kongpob.
Arthit: She's not Kongpob's type!
That came out louder than I intended.
Belle: Arthit! Mae, don't mind this silly child.
Grammy: Of course not. Arthit baby, Kongpob will still be your friend even when he gets a girlfriend. You will still be his friend if you get a girlfriend, right?
Grammy looked at me expectantly, and Kong put his hand on my leg under the table to calm me. I looked down at my plate.
Arthit: Yes.
Krystal: Good morning everyone! What's going on?
Aom: Good morning Krystal. I saved you a seat. We were just talking about Kongpob's type of girl. Grammy thinks my sister Jane is perfect for him, but Arthit says she's not.
Krystal stared at me with a frown, and then looked to Grammy.
Aom: So Kongpob, what type do you like?
Kongpob: Uh, I'm focusing on school right now, so I haven't given it much thought.
Krystal: I know what he likes. He likes short hair with dimples.
Kong choked on his orange juice. I patted Kong's back while glaring at Krystal. She just chuckled.
Aom: That's perfect. My sister has dimples, and she just got a haircut. I don't have a picture of her with her new haircut though.
I kicked Krystal under the table.
Krystal: Ouuuu.....
My mom coughed a few times.
Belle: Children, let's eat. It's almost time for school.
This is just day one, breakfast. I think I'm the one with high blood pressure.
