"What do you want to do in the future?" Patton asked.

"Like how far, long term goals or short term?"

Patton shrugged, "Both I guess."

Virgil hummed, "I want to get married. I also want to improve my art more but at the same time take better care of my mental health. One day I'd like to adopt a child."

"Do you care about how many children we would adopt and would you care about their gender?"

"I could probably only handle one kid, and I don't care at all about gender. If you want more kids we could adopt another dog."

Patton hummed, "How soon would be too soon to get married for you?"

Virgil thought about it, "I don't know. It's May, we started dating in January I think. So that's about four months."

"But we have known each other since freshman year in high school," Patton pointed out.

"Yeah- wait holy shit how long have we known each other?" Virgil questioned.

"We were like fourteen or fifteen when we met," Patton began to work out.

"And I'm twenty-eight now, you're twenty-nine," Virgil murmured.

"That would make it about fourteen years."

"Wow, I've known you for half of my life."

"I plan on knowing you for the rest of my life," Patton said with a kiss to Virgil's temple.

Virgil smiled at him, "As do I." Virgil lightly kissed Patton, "So what are your goals for the future?"

"Marry you, raise a child together, and make sure you're safe and comfortable," Patton answered.

"All of those are based around me, there has to be something else you want to do with your life."

Patton shook his head, "You are my life. With you I'll always be happy."

Virgil smiled at Patton, "Sap."

"You love it."

"I do, but not as much as I love you."
