33~ Coming Out Help ~33
Tw: Fear of not being accepted(But it's not bad)
Virgil was drawing on his drawing tablet and his music filled his ears through his headphones. He was happy and calm right now. His drawing was turning out fine even if he kept messing up in the beginning. But Patton had taught him to keep trying so that's what he was going to do and it was working in his favor.
Suddenly an image of a teen pacing their room flashed through his eyes. They looked scared and to be deep in thought.
Virgil, starting to get used to this, saved his drawing although he was disappointed that he had to stop now but his duty as an angel was far more important. His wings spread out behind him as he stood up. Bear, who was at his feet, looked up to him. Virgil leaned down for a second to scratch behind her ear. "Guard the house while I'm gone," Virgil told her although she did not understand and even if she could Bear could never hurt anything. She was like the puppy version of Patton even if Patton did already act like a dog sometimes. Like when the first day of their sophomore year in high school and they hadn't been able to see each other over summer that much and when Patton saw him the boy got so excited that he couldn't stand still.
Virgil left through the back door and took off into the sky. He soon knew where the child was and headed over there quickly.
He began to glow and he knocked on the window. The child turned to him and their eyes widened. They walked over and swung open the window and Virgil entered. "W-who are you?" the child questioned.
"I'm an angel," Virgil answered and pointed to the wings behind him.
"Why are you here?"
"I'm not really sure." Virgil shrugged. "But I saw you looking scared so I thought I might help you. So what's up?"
"I- um," the child hesitated for a few seconds. "Since you're an angel you must know if God is accepting of queer people, right? Is he?"
Virgil nodded and smiled lightly, "Yes he is. In fact God is gay himself." The corners of the child's lips turned every so slightly up. "So why do you ask?"
The child looked down. "I uhm," they took a few seconds before whispering. "I'm trans, mtf, and I'm also a lesbian. I'm trying to figure out how to come out to my parents and I'm worried because they're religious and I don't know if they're one of those people that use their religion to justify homophobia and transphobia."
"I'd sit them down and say that you have something serious and important to tell them. Explain to them that you're a girl and answer any questions that they have. Have a friend's house ready to go to if things turn out bad and if that does happen just know that sometimes it takes some time for some people. If they truly love you they'll come around eventually," Virgil explained to her.
She nodded and took a deep breath then sighed. "I'm still so anxious about telling them."
"That's alright. Take your time. There isn't a set time for you to come out."
"I know. But I want to come out. I'm ready. Just scared."
"I'll be with you the entire time when you do," Virgil promised.
She took another deep breath, "Okay. Then I'm going to do it right now." She opened her door before she could have any second thoughts and quickly walked down the stairs. Virgil watched from the top as she began to say something to the two adults on the couch. She sat down across from them. She looked down as she spoke and then hesitantly looked up to see their expressions. She was only met with a hug from the two of them. Virgil couldn't see but they said something back but he could see how the girl grinned and hugged her parents back. She opened her eyes and looked up to Virgil. She mouthed out a thank-you to the angel and Virgil returned it with a two-finger salute before walking away and heading back home as he glowed.
Virgil pet Bear as he entered back into the house. She was happily wagging her tail and trying to jump up onto Virgil, acting as if he had been gone for hours. Virgil sat down on the ground in front of her and she immediately stepped into his lap. Virgil smiled and proceeded to scratch her behind her ears. "Good girl," Virgil told her and she only wagged her tail faster. Virgil sighed happily. He was glad that the girl he had helped was accepted and she could continue to live happily with her parents.
Bear rolled onto her back, leaving her belly exposed for rubs, which Virgil happily gave her- using both hands so you know it was a good belly rub.
Eventually he had to get back to work and so he sadly stopped petting Bear and went back to drawing.
