Tw: Abuse(some physical and yelling), anxiety

Virgil brushed Bear's fur as he sat on the floor. Patton had to go back to work- again- and Virgil found it quiet calming. Plus he heard at some point that petting a dog helps with depression and anxiety. He softly smiled as his hands worked the brush and petted Bear. It was helping his mental state, which still sucked. It was fine until he saw something that made his heart stop. Images flashed through his mind of a family. There was screaming, violence and pain. Virgil began to shake as the images continued. Bear sensed Virgil's distress so she sat up and licked Virgil's face. Virgil shook his head and gained a determined expression. He stood up and Bear let out a whimper.

Virgil leaned down and scratched behind her ear. "I just gotta go help someone, I'm okay." She got the message and walked over to the couch to lay down on it. Virgil let his wings faze through his clothes and left through the back door. Quickly he took off and his mind told him where the family was.

He landed on their front lawn and he began to glow. He floated over to the front window and fazed through it. It felt weird to go through the wall and it felt wrong to enter a house he wasn't invited into but it was his job as an angel. Immediately he saw the mom crying on the couch as the father shouted at her. The two very young children-most likely twins- watched from the top of the broken down steps with tears in their eyes and fear evident on their faces. No one seemed to see Virgil.

Hesitantly Virgil reached out and grabbed the husband's shoulder. He didn't seem to notice Virgil still. Virgil felt his anxiety rising from not knowing what to do and the yelling. But he would not give up on this family. Virgil flew up to the children and when he was right in front of them they seemed to register him as their eyes widened. "It's okay, I'm here to help you," Virgil said as warm and calm as he could. They seemed hesitant to trust his reached out hand but after staring at his wings for a few seconds they gave him their trust.

Virgil picked them up and carried them to the room with an open door that had one small bed that he assumed that they shared. Virgil laid them down and pulled the covers around them. Virgil hummed and thought how to help them more. Virgil focused on making his hands glow then he gently placed them on the children's heads. He felt all of their fear and anxiety enter him through the connection of his finger tips. He didn't know what he was doing but he could see they were getting calmer but he was beginning to shake and his heart rate was going up. They soon felt calm enough to drift off to sleep and Virgil guessed that he had taken their fear.

Virgil took a few deep breaths to calm himself down as much as he could. Virgil walked down the stairs and from the top he could see that in the living room the man had his hand wrapped tightly around the woman's neck, who was trying desperately to get free. Virgil's anxiety turned to anger and he quickly flew down the steps. "Let her go," Virgil's said sternly. The man did not seem to hear but the wife now saw him. She looked at the angel with pleading eyes while her vision went dark. All of Virgil's anger turned into a white light around him and his eyes were taken over by the light. Virgil gripped the man's shoulder and he finally noticed the angel. "You will never hurt her again," Virgil's voice echoed.

Virgil pulled him away and the man let go of his wife. Virgil threw him to the floor and when he hit there was an explosion of light. Virgil watched as in slow motion the world around him changed. Bottles of alcohol around him disappeared, every hole and scratch in the house repaired itself, the bruises on the mother's neck disappeared and she was no longer on the floor, the two children were now awake and downstairs and the husband looked different. The light faded and with it so did Virgil's energy. He seemed to become invisible as the family no longer payed him any attention. The family was now smiling and laughing as they talked.

It was almost as if there had never been any abuse or anything negative. Virgil stumbled backwards and fell down. He held his head in one of his hands and he couldn't help but notice just how exhausted he felt. Virgil took a few seconds to recover and then he forced himself to flap his wings until he took off. Virgil went as fast as he could in his tired state, eager to get home and rest. Virgil got home and the first thing he did was collapse onto the couch right next to Bear. Her immediate response was to get up and curl up again on Virgil's chest.

It didn't take long for Virgil to fall asleep and wake back up in heaven. Virgil yawned and sat up. He had to admit he missed going to sleep and not having to do anything for hours while now he kept going to Heaven.

Today Virgil decided that he was just going to lay in the soft bed instead of leaving and doing some angel thing. Virgil wrapped the fluffy blanket around himself and sighed in content, the only thing that could make it better would be if Patton was here to cuddle.

Sadly Virgil's peace didn't last for long. There was a knock at the door before a handful of the gods spilled into the room. "How did you do that?" Thomas was quick to question.

Virgil sat up and awkwardly messed with the edges of the blanket. "I don't really know. I was just mad at that guy and it kinda just took over and I didn't even comprehend what I was doing then it happened. What did I even do by the way?"

"You changed the timeline of earth," Joan answered.

"That is an extremely powerful thing to do," Valerie told him.

"How do you feel?" Thomas asked.

"Tired," Virgil answered and there was not much else to say.

Joan  hummed and then they seemed to think of something. "Virgil I know you and Patton have been healing Hon- Deceit. Can you try doing that for us now?"

Virgil nodded and got out of the nice warm bed. "Yeah of course." The groups of gods and the angel headed to the room that held Thomas's son. They got there and Virgil let his hand glow and he placed it on Deceit's cheek. Thomas watched, biting his lip with anxiety until his boyfriend slipped his hand into his. The scales on Deceit's face, and the others all over his body in spots which weren't revealed, faded away to smooth skin.

"Are you even more tired now?' Thomas asked.

Virgil shook his head. "Still the same as before."

"How fucking powerful are you?" the Deity of Knowledge exclaimed.
