21~ Mother ~21

I was trying out putting tw right before they happen but it just doesn't feel right so I'm putting them at the tops of chapters again. Tw: Implied suicide attempt (from last chapter), mentions of death, one mention of murder

Once Patton and Virgil fell asleep they woke up again in heaven. "What in fu-" Virgil began to say until Patton made eye contact with him. "What in tarnation is going on in this good pup nation."

"Maybe we just come back here now when we sleep," Patton suggested.

Virgil shrugged, "Maybe, it's the only logical explanation."

They exited their room and walked throughout the hallways. They were found by Tayln who had been told once again to take them to Thomas's throne room. "How did you know what that kid was about to do?" Thomas asked as soon as they entered the room.

Virgil shrugged, "I just kinda saw vision."

Joan, who was sitting in Thomas's throne instead of Thomas, furrowed their eyebrows, "But that's a guardian angel ability, you two are too powerful to be guardian angels." Virgil just shrugged again, he was was still confused on this whole angel thing.

"You two confuse me," Thomas admitted.

There was nothing to say after that and the gods wanted time to think alone so Virgil and Patton were sent out. The two walked around heaven and admired the sights. However even angels get tired sometimes so they headed back to their bed in the House of Gods. On the way Patton felt a strong pull. He followed it to a large door. "Is it rude to enter without permission?" Patton asked Virgil.

Now Virgil was feeling the strong pull too, "I think it's some angel thing." The pull was so strong he couldn't stop himself. "We should at least check it out." Without a second thought Virgil opened the large doors. There was someone wearing black and yellow laying on the bed. "Hello?" Virgil hesitantly called out. The person didn't respond and Virgil hesitantly walked closer. When he was close enough he could see the person's face and he recognized it to be the same person that they forced to drink that purple position. The son of Thomas, the Prince of Honesty who was now corrupted, Deceit. His black and tattered wings were spread out behind him which caused the yellow underside of his short cape to be revealed. Virgil could almost see all of his memories. They were fuzzy but he could tell how the corrupted prince felt in them, he was depressed and lonely. Virgil didn't know why but he took a hold of Deceit's limp hand. The memories became clear and he could hear them. He saw all of them. They were awful. Tears trickled down Virgil's face and he began to shake.

"Virgie? Are you okay?" Patton asked worriedly.

Virgil suddenly let go of his hand. He shook his head, "We have to help him. He messed up really bad but he needs to see the joys of life." Virgil held the snake side of Deceit's face and his hand began to glow. "He's deserves happiness, everyone does." Virgil and Patton couldn't see it as Deceit's eyes were closed but his yellow eye returned to it's natural caramel color. Virgil took a deep breath, "Let's go." As they exited Virgil kept his eyes on Deceit until he couldn't anymore. Once they were back in there room they fell asleep only to wake up on Earth.

They didn't know what to do after breakfast so they decided to just take Bear out for a walk and clear their thoughts. Virgil zipped up his patch work hoodie and cringed at how uncomfortable his wings felt beneath it as they were pressed into his skin. Up in heaven you could have your wings out and Virgil hadn't really payed attention but he assumed there were holes in the shirts in heaven and he wasn't going to even try that. Patton tried to hide his wings in his shirt but they stuck out and it was way too obvious that they were there. Virgil grabbed his MCR hoodie from the closet, "Here, try this." Patton slipped the hoodie over his head and it worked perfectly at covering up Patton's wings. Patton turned around with a smile on his face. Virgil admired how cute his boyfriend looked with that smile in his hoodie. They put Bear's leash on and headed out. They were walking around the neighborhood and eventually they came up to the cemetery. They were met with an uncomfortable feeling of remembering when they had been buried here not too long ago. So much can happen in a week when you die then come back to life and are now an angel. They were about to pass by but then Patton noticed something.

"Is that my mom's car?" Patton questioned. Virgil looked to where Patton was faced.

"I think it is," Virgil said. They walked closer and saw the bumper sticker that Patton's mom had put on her car when Patton came out to her as panromantic.

I'm a proud LGBTQ+ ally

The text was black and the background was rainbow. Virgil and Patton smiled at the sticker, Ms. Sanders was always so accepting and was an amazing mom.

"P-Patton? Virgil?" A shaky voice called. The two turned their heads and saw Ms. Sanders.

"Mom!" Patton excitedly yelled and ran up to his mom. He wrapped the old lady in a tight hug.

"I was at your funeral, how are you alive?" Ms. Sanders asked between sobs, "I came here to place flowers at your grave but it was gone. I didn't know what they had done with you!"

Patton rubbed circles into his mom's back, "Sh it's okay, I'm not dead. Basically heaven is real, god is gay and he ships Virgil and I, god's son is my murderer and we're kinda still angels."

Ms. Sanders gave her son a confused look but it seemed that she accepted it. Her eyes glanced behind Patton and was reminded that Virgil was here too. She smiled and pulled away from her son to hold out her arm, "Come on Virgil, you know you want a hug. It won't damage your reputation."

Virgil rolled his eyes and smiled as he walked over, "I'm not concerned about my reputation as the badest boy in town anymore." He hugged Patton's mom and pulled back to hold Patton's hand.

"Good because I think Patton might steal your place," Ms. Sanders said as she motioned to Virgil's hoodie that Patton was wearing.

"Um excuse me? First off, that's my hoodie and second of all he wears puppy print pajamas to bed," Virgil defended.

"You like to wear kitten pajamas," Patton mentioned.

"They're yours," Virgil reminded.

"You still looked cute in them!"

Ms. Sanders smiled at the two, "I'm so glad you two got together. I always knew you would but you make each other so happy."

"How'd you always know?" Virgil questioned, "My coming out to you was basically when Patton told you that we were dating."

"It was obvious when I came into Patton's room to give you two cookies while you were teens and saw you jump out of Patton's closet with a rainbow flag as a cape and yelled out 'I'm gay'."

Virgil nodded, "Okay yeah that does make it very obvious and I thought you hadn't seen that."

Patton grinned and pressed a quick kiss to Virgil's cheek, "My little gay bean."

Virgil smiled but looked down, "We should probably not kiss in a grave yard."

"Yeah maybe," Patton agreed. "Do you want to come over and talk?" Patton asked his mother.

"Of course! I'm still confused on what's happening so you'll have to explain it to me more."
