2. Strange Place To Visit

Hayden Collins just woke up. She goes to shower, dresses ; a light white dress with flowers and a white waistcoat with barefoot, and goes to the kitchen to have her coffee.

She lives in a nice little apartment in Boston, alone with her cat. As she quietly drinks her coffee, he rubs her arm, demanding hugs. She smiles at him and caresses his head, the cat begins to purr.

It may sound strange, a woman living alone with her cat. But Hayden had chosen this way of life. Since she was a young girl, she always learned to get by on her own. She doesn't like to depend on anyone. And especially not a man. Although she didn't have many stories in her life.

Hayden looks at her watch, it's already time to go to the library. She caresses her cat one last time, takes her bag and she walks to the door, lighting a cigarette.

The day at the library was pretty quiet. There were a few regular customers, but Hayden hadn't been overwhelmed. She is sorting out books she plans to give to Briarcliff's asylum. The old bookseller has always donated some books for this asylum. And Hayden plans to do the same. She assembled her things, and closed the library at the end of the afternoon. Hayden drives to the asylum, a few miles from Boston, near a large forest. She arrived a few minutes later and parked in the parking lot. She climbs the large steps that leathe entrance of the building and then she enters inside, a large cardboard in her arms.

A nun with long blond hair heads towards Hayden, a big smile on her lips.

"Hello, I'm Sister Mary Eunice, can I help you?" She asks in a soft voice, her beautiful blue eyes warm.

"Uh yes, I come to bring you books for the common room," Hayden answers with a shy smile."I'm the new bookseller, my name is Hayden."

"Oh how nice of you!" Sister Mary Eunice said, a big smile on her lips. She takes the cardboard that Hayden holds in her arms.

"I still have a lot to bring, I can come back on the weekend if you want?" Hayden asked. Sister Mary Eunice agrees, always smiling, the cardboard in her arms.

"Of course, thank you again. May God bless you!" She answers with a warm smile. Then she goes to the big spiral staircase.

Hayden decides to go outside. As she pushes the big door that leads out, this last bumps into someone. Hayden raises her head and sees Dr. Thredson holding his forehead, laughing slightly.

"Oh, I'm really sorry..." Hayden apologizes, ashamed. She goes outside and closes the door behind her. He's smoking a cigarette. Always impeccably dressed.

"It's nothing, don't worry," Thredson answers, smiling. "But what a surprise to see you here, Miss Collins."

"You smoke?" He asks, handing his pack of cigarettes to Hayden. Hayden nods, she places a strand of hair behind her ear and takes a cigarette.

"Thank you," she said, lighting it. "Are you working here?"

Thredson takes a puff from his cigarette. "Indeed, I'm here for the case of Kit Walker aka BloodyFace."

"Yes, I read in the newspaper that they finally found him, it's reassuring." Said Hayden, relieved.

"And you, what are you doing here? It's a strange place to visit." He asks, a questioning look.

"Oh, I was just bringing a few books," Hayden answers. She took advantage of this moment of silence to observe Dr. Thredson.

She didn't realize yesterday at the library how beautiful he was. Tall, brown hair, black eyes, big eyebrows. His glasses make him look even more perfect. A beautiful face, perfectly shaved. And his work suit gray with a red tie.

He looks at his watch and then looks at Hayden. "My day's work is over, you want to join me for a coffee?"

Hayden looks at her watch and smiles at Thredson. "Of course, the library is closed and I have nothing planned." She replies gently.

They each head to their cars and Thredson proposes that they meet in a cafe in Boston.
