Chapter One: He's Like Me!?
Chapter One: He's Like Me!?
Aomine woke up to find himself back in his human form, completely naked on his bed. He had done it again. Someone pissed him off while he was out, and he ended up transforming completely into his Black Panther form. For Aomine there was one problem with his transformation, he would occasionally have slight blackouts. An effect that his parents warn him about many times.
"I don't remember getting myself home. Which means, I transformed again and had to sneak in through the window to get in here. Better head downstairs so I can hear another lecture from my parents." Aomine slid on a pair of lose sweatpants and made his way down to the lower level of the Aomine family home.
Sitting at the dining table, were both Aomine's parents. It seemed like they were sitting there waiting for him to come down once he was calm.
"I see you've finally calmed down Daiki. Would you like to explain how and why you totally transformed, again." Mr. Aomine asked while looking down at his newspaper.
"Same old thing. I just couldn't help it, don't worry no one saw me. I was careful not to be spotted be anyone." Aomine smugly explained as he grabbed something to drink and took a seat at the same table as his parents.
"This isn't a laughing matter Daiki! You take too many chances in getting caught. There are those who understand us but there are also those who don't. You put everyone like us in danger with your carelessness." Mrs. Aomine stood up from her seat at the table in anger, her long black tail suddenly swaying behind her.
"Careful mother, loose your temper and you'll end up transforming. If this is all there is to talk about, I'm heading back up to my room for the night." Aomine got up from where he was sitting to make his way back up to his room. As he walked away he could hear his mother and father continuing to talk about their son's unruly behavior.
"What are we going to do about him? He doesn't understand the dangers he's putting everyone like us in." Mrs. Aomine quickly calmed down, making her tail disappear and she sat down.
"He's an arrogant boy how doesn't think before he acts. Until he realizes he's not invincible he'll never change. Being a Werecat can be a lonely path to walk when you're young and stupid." Mr. Aomine calmly stated as he folded up his newspaper. He then suddenly heard the slamming of the door coming from upstairs.
Aomine made it up to his room, as he looked into his room he noticed just how pathetic his life was. Clothes and model magazines were scattered all around his room. He stepped inside and without thinking he slammed his door and broke out into an angry frenzy. Ripping the curtains, sheets and pillows. Better to rip up the furniture then an actual person.
"They don't get it! They had it easy when they were younger. I don't need this. I'll make it on my own." Aomine quickly grabbed a giant duffel bag and packet it full of clothes and a few other things, making sure to grab his Tōō Academy school uniform and basketball jersey and shoes. Just like how he always left, Aomine climbed out the window. "I'll show them." Aomine took one last look behind him before jumping out of his two story window. "Just you guys wait and see who the young and stupid one is."
Somewhere in another district Kagami was out by himself shooting some hoops to help clear his head. He had another close one today at school during his basketball practice with his team at Seirin High School. His ears and tail were just about to pop out when the whistle to end practice suddenly blew. Kagami was saved. His teammate Tetsuya Kuroko noticed that Kagami would often get a bit strange during certain points of practice and in games. With curiosity Kuroko decided to ask Kagami what up.
"Is there something bother you Kagami-kun?"
"It's nothing for you to worry about Kuroko. I'm fine, really." Kagami obviously lied.
"Are you sure Kagami-kun? You've been acting strange for a while."
"I'm seriously fine Kuroko. Anyway, I need to get going, have things to do back at the apartment." Kagami once again lied.
Before heading home Kagami stopped by Maji Burger to get something to eat for dinner. He got his usual order of at least more than a dozen cheeseburgers and a drink. When Kagami finally made it home he kept hearing the conversation he had with his mother earlier that day.
"Don't cause any trouble while your overseas. It would be troublesome for your father and I if we got any calls about an incidents."
"Guess I knew that I wouldn't be able to count on them to understand what I'm going through. I am only the second known person in my family to be like this. The funny thing is, I don't even know what I am."
Kagami arrived back home at his apartment, placing his bag of cheeseburgers and drink on the coffee table that sat in the middle of his living room, he then took his set on the couch and started going through the bag and placing the first cheeseburger on the table.
"Thank you for the meal!" Kagami clapped his hands together to give thanks for his food before unwrapping his first cheeseburger. One by one Kagami consumed his cheeseburgers. When he got to his fifth cheeseburger Kagami suddenly had this feeling that he wanted to take a walk and he was going to take his basketball with him. He went to his bedroom and grabbed his basketball before quickly making his way out the door for his walk.
A strange force was pulling Kagami to the Basketball courts, like something was calling out to him. When Kagami reached the Basketball courts he just started at them with hypnotizing eyes. They were calling to him. He spun the ball in between his hands, the feeling of the texture brought a whole new light to Kagami. He stepped onto the courts, the sound of the ball bouncing next to him echoed in his head. When Kagami reach half court, he took the ball in his hands and took the shot. Swoosh, nothing but net. Before the ball had the chance to hit the ground, Kagami was right there to get it and put it right back up with a bank shot.
Being on the basketball courts at night gave Kagami a feeling of calm. Even if his ears and tail were to come out there wouldn't be anyone around to see them. He felt like he could be himself, in the safety of the night, doing the one thing he loved to do, playing basketball.
"I've never felt so free!"
Aomine had covered some ground since he ran away from home. When he came to the park he decided to take a break. Suddenly, he caught the scent of someone nearby. A scent that didn't smell like a normal human.
"I know that smell! It smells like another Werecat." Aomine quickly and quietly made his way to where the smell was coming from. It didn't take him very long to find the source of the intoxicating scent.
"Someone's at the basketball courts. Is a Werecat playing basketball or something?" Aomine pocked his head out from behind a tree he was hiding behind. That's when he saw Kagami, shooting and rebounding again and again. This kid was someone Aomine had never seen before and he was giving off a Werecat scent like no other. He was surprised that no other Werecats that were most likely in the area hadn't come out and attacked him yet.
"I wonder what kind of species of Werecat this kid is. Nothing beats my Black Panther form, but it would still be cool to know.
As Aomine continued to watch the newly discovered Werecat he could see the stranger's tail start to appear. A long tail started to sway behind him, the colors of orange and black started to appear. Aomine knew what this kid was.
"He's a Tiger!"
Aomine wanted to know more about this Tiger Werecat. Slowly he stepped out from behind the tree, being careful not to surprise the Tiger, not knowing what would happen if the Tiger would be surprised if he would lash out on him.
"Oi, you're pretty good. Mind if I join?"
Kagami quickly turned around, hiding his tail from the stranger that had suddenly appeared.
"That's okay. I'm about to leave anyway. If you want the court you can have it, I'll just go now." Kagami quickly grabbed his ball and went to leave the courts before the stranger could see his tail that was now starting to disappear.
"Oh, I get it. He's one of those nervous Werecats who does everything he can to keep his identity a secret. Come on! Just a short game. First one to make it to three points, alright?"
Kagami suddenly stopped and turned back around. He didn't know why this guy was so adamant about playing against him.
"What do you say? The first one to three points wins."
"Al-alright, but right after I need to get going."
Aomine and Kagami each quickly made their first two points, now all they had to do was to keep the other from scoring and make their own final point. Kagami had just stolen the ball away from Aomine, taking it back to half court and then driving it towards the basket. Aomine was doing all he could to keep Kagami from getting to the basket. Both Kagami and Aomine never before had a feeling like this when facing an opponent.
"This kid, he's not bad, but at the moment I'm not too worried about getting the third point. I want to see him in his Tiger form." Aomine tightened up his defense on Kagami, making it even more difficult for Kagami to score and Kagami was starting to notice.
"What's with this guy? His defense suddenly changed like he's trying to put me in a corner for some reason." Kagami suddenly felt the sensation he always feels when his ears and tail were about to come out. He didn't know what to do. He could throw the game, then he could quickly go home. But that wasn't the way Kagami played. "Damn it! Don't pop out! Don't pop out! Don't pop out!" Kagami kept saying to himself.
A sudden smile made its way across Aomine's face. This is the moment he had been waiting for. "His scent is even stronger. He's trying to fight off the transformation. I just need to give him one last push."
Kagami didn't know what happened, all he knew was that he suddenly found himself on the ground with Aomine laying on top of him. He couldn't keep them in anymore, Kagami's ears and tail popped out.
"I knew it! You let off such a strong scent when you're about to change. I had to make sure I was right."
Kagami looked up terrified that he was found out, but when he looked up at the person on top of him he was surprised at what was looking down at him. The stranger who asked him to play basketball had ears and tail too. A long black tail swayed over Kagami's head and black ears sat on the strangers head.
"He's like me!?"
