Chapter 4: Little Love.
Natsu's (POV)
When I woke up Lucy was gone I followed her scent and we reunited. This isn't the first time she's ran away from me either... I'm not letting it happen again.
"Natsu I'm sorry..." Lucy sobbed.
"Lucy... You've been naughty... As punishment..." I lifted her into my arms. "I'm gonna make you wish you never thought about running away."
"Natsu... "
"Luce... I think it's time we consummate our marriage." I said carrying her back to the cave.
"Natsu..." Lucy whispered.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"Natsu... I want you so much. But we shouldn't... I know we're married but... We should really focus on the mission." She panted.
"You know Luce, your right. I'm sorry I guess I got alittle carried away." I said backing away.
"Believe me Natsu when I say I really want to it's just... I can't fully give myself to you if something this big is on my mind." She frowned. "It wouldn't be fair to you or me..." She said sorrowful.
"I agree. After all of this is... You and me... Alone." I smirked.
"Alright big guy. Let's get some sleep." She chuckled.
My arms wrapped tightly around her waist. "Promise me that when I wake up you'll be by my side." I said.
"I promise Natsu I love you." She whispered into my ear.
"I love you too Luce."
The following morning.
I woke up due to the rays of the sun burning my eyes.
It took me but a moment to realised that Lucy wasn't with me.
'Dammit she promised... When I find her...'
"LUCY! YOU PROMISED!"
I ran to the nearest tree and let out all of my frustration.
"Natsu, calm down I'm right here." I heard a soft piercing voice shout.
"Luce, don't scare me like that." I turned towards the golden goddess and she smirked.
"Well someone had to get breakfast ready." She said handing me a cooked fish on a stick.
"Where's yours?" I asked.
"I already ate mine." She said.
"Luce, I know your lying." I retorted.
"Okay, I could only catch one... Just take it." She said handing it to me.
"Uh-uhn you eat it." I said back.
"Natsu.."
"I mean it Luce... My wife eats before me." I pushed the fish back to her.
"How about we share?" She said with puppy eyes.
'Damn those precious eyes of hers... No dammit Natsu be a man... Your wife needs it more.'
"No dice, Luce eat it I'm fine." I said shaking my head.
"Well if you don't eat then neither will I." She said about to throw the fish away.
"Dammit woman, give me that." I took it from her, took a bite then gave it back. "There, happy?" I pouted.
"Very, I knew that'd work." She smirked taking a bite of the fish.
After we finished our breakfast we made way for the eastern boarders of Fiore. We should be there by late tonight or tommorrow morning.
Luce and I walked in silence for a while. It was still quite awkward between us. We skipped a whole portion of our relationship. We literally went from being friends to being married in a six hour window.
Lucy's (POV)
I'm still alittle nervous around Natsu. He and I were such good friends before but now we are married. What if it doesn't work out... Then I'd loose one of the greatest friends I've ever had.
"What's wrong?" Natsu asked.
"Huh?"
"I know that look. What's cooking in that beautiful head of yours." Natsu smirked.
"I was just thinking... What if it doesn't work out..." I studdered.
"What do you mean?" He asked with a confused look.
"Natsu... You and I have been really good friends for many years and now... We're married. What if it doesn't work out between us..."
"Luce, I chose you to be my one. Your not getting away from me, ever... And in regards to our friendship... It's endless." Natsu interrupted.
"Really?"
"Lucy, sometimes you just... Quit overlooking everything, okay? I love you and only you and that's all you need to know." He said.
"I know but..."
"No buts."
Natsu pulled me into a bone crushing hug and chuckled. "Unless it's your butt." He then squeezed my ass and I punched him in his shoulder.
"Pervert!"
"Only for you Luce. Only for you." He chuckled once more. "Alright let's go or we'll never reach the eastern boarder." He sighed
Natsu and I reached a small village at least a few hours away from our destination. We decided to rest there for the night. We saw a cute little Inn placed atop a hill and decided to rent a room there.
When we reached the Inn we read a sign that said: 'Little Love.' What an adorable name for an Inn. We entered and the lady at the front desk looked at us with an annoyed look.
"We're booked." She stated with cold eyes.
"But the sign outside said vacant." I said.
"We don't rent rooms to people like you..." She said looked at me.
"What do you mean people like her..." Natsu said alittle pissed off.
"Floosies aren't welcome here... We only rent to couples." She said.
"EXCUSE ME, MY WIFE IS NOT A FLOOSIE! APOLOGIZE." Natsu screamed at the woman and her eyes widened.
"Wife?" She asked.
As instinct Natsu and I showed her our rings and she shook her head.
"I apologize, but really young lady you shouldn't dress like that... Your somebody's wife now and someone's future mother perhaps." The woman said.
"What's wrong with the way she dresses?" Natsu asked still alittle angry.
"Natsu calm down... She's right. Excuse me mam but do you have clothes that I could use?"
"Come with me my daughters clothes should work. You look to be the same size. Though her chest was alittle smaller." I followed the lady to a room that looked like it belonged to a teenage girl. She opened the closet and I peeked in.
"Your welcome to take what ever you wish." She said turning away.
"If you don't mind my asking where is your daughter now?" I asked.
"She passed away a few years ago from cancer." She stated.
"I'm sorry for your loss." I said back.
"It's alright she was a strong girl, and a responsible one too... You remind me allot of her." She said back. "So you and that kid in there are married?"
"Yeah, could I maybe talk to you... If it's not a bother." I asked.
"Sure." And she closed the door. "Let me hear yah."
"My husband and I began our long journey as strangers he brought me to Fairytail just as a friend. We were friends for many years and now... Just a few days ago we got married. Trust me I love him with all my heart but I just can't help but feel that something is missing." I said.
"I see... Maybe it's because you skipped the whole part where you two got to understand each other... Not as friends but as lovers. It's not hard to understand each other on a physical level but on an emotional level... It's a whole different thing." She said patting me on the shoulder.
"How did you and your husband get together?"
"Ha, I've never been married... Don't assume things just because I had a child." She chuckled.
"I'm sorry..." I said back with an apologetic tone.
"It's fine... Listen girly he's your man and however you plan to get over this little thing is all up to you..." She sighed heading for the door. "Now get some clothes for your self and meet your husband in the dinning room for some dinner." With those last words she left me alone to get dressed.
'My husband...'
