Lucy's  (POV)

My mother always told me: "Follow the stars, for they will lead you to great adventure."

I never thought about it much as a child... 'What adventures does the future hold?'

Everthing changed when I joined Fairytail. It felt like I found my new family... One that will truly be there for me, always. Also I discovered what true adventure feels like.

Standing by my friends, fighting side by side. I couldn't ask for more.

I've only been with Fairytail for several years. I can hardly call them my family, but I know more than anything that they are important to me.

I sat alone at the bar drinking my strawberry milkshake. Mira walked up to me and whispered. "The Master would like to see you."

It sounded urgent so I stood up quickly and headed to the Masters office. I entered and Makarov motioned for me to sit, so I did.

"Lucy, I'm sorry to say this but you are... No longer a member of Fairytail."

"What?! Why?!"

"Let me finish... The council discovered a Dark Guild that wishes to get a hold of the twelve Zodiac keys. Rumor has it if all twelve keys are gathered it can call forth a process known as 'reforged'."

"The process is simular to that of wich you experienced with Aquarius. When her key broke the Celestial Spirit King aided you in battle. Add eleven more Zodiac keys into the mix then they create a new key. A permanent key that can be used to summon his Spiritual Majesty."

"The council thinks that to make sure this process does not happen you quit being a wizzard for a while. You will be assigned to the task of taking down the Dark Guild: Thirteenth Eye. You will be allowed one partner. Of course they too will become a nomad as well. Choose wisely..."

"And if I wish to do it alone?"

"Unacceptable, you can't do this alone it is dangerous the fate of Fiore depends on your victory. Should you face defeat... The conditions are unthinkable. I suggest Natsu, you two make quite a pair." Master stated.

"No, I can't ask Natsu to quit Fairytail. Not for me. Fairytail means everything to him... And I don't want him to get hurt or worse due to a problem that doesn't concern him. I will do this alone." I stated.

"Lucy, does he know." Master sighed.

I understood what he meant and I shook my head.

"He deserves to know Lucy. And you deserve to know as well. It will only tear you apart. Besides when he sees that your gone, you know that he's just going to search for you."

"Natsu wouldn't understand. Everything is fine the way it is. Make sure he stays put and well Master." I could barely hold back my tears.

"Lucy, I don't want you to be alone in a time like this."

"It's fine Master, it's better this way. In fact it's better when I'm alone... This way no one gets hurt."

The master waved his hand over my insignia. "It will disapear once you step out of the Guild. I wish you luck my child. When all this is over come back to us."

"I will." I bowed then left his office.

He's right Natsu deserves to know... But if I tell him... Then what?

I walked back to the bar and spoke with Mira.

''What did the Master see you for?" She asked.

"He wanted to talk about our last job. We owe 3,000 Jewel." I lied.

"Figures." She disapeared behind the bar.

'I'm gonna miss all of you.' I said mentally.

I made way for the exit. Tears threatened to fall from my eyes. I stopped in my tracks when I heard a familiar voice call my name.

"LUCE!"  I heard him yell.

Natsu's  (POV)

Lucy went up to the masters office. She returned with a sad look.

'Somethings up.'

She spoke with Mira for a moment then started for the exit. I ran after her calling her name.

"LUCE!"

She stopped then slowly turned giving me a fake smile. "Hey Natsu, what's up?"

"Lucy... Are you ok?" I asked.

'Idiot she's definitely not okay. That's not her real smile.'

"Yeah I'm just tired. I was just heading home."

"Oh... I'll walk you home."

"No! Really I'm a big girl." She walked towards the exit.

"OK see yah Luce."

As she exited she waved at me. As the doors closed I noticed the Guild mark on her hand disapeared. I also heard her whisper so quietly even with my Dragon hearing it was barely understandable.

"I'm sorry... Nastu. Good-bye Fairytail."

Those words rang in my ears for a moment.

'Lucy... Why.'

I realised that I stood stationary for too long. I broke out of my trance and ran after her. I headed towards her house like life depended on it. I saw her turn around the corner and yelled for her...

"LUCY!!!"

Lucy's  (POV)

I heard his voice yell to me. I backed up around the corner to see Natsu running toward me at an inhuman speed. He finally stopped five feet away and caught his breath.

"What's the big idea?"

"This..." He stood up straight and walked closer. When he was close enough he snatched my right hand. "What happened." He jestured to my hand with a missing Guild mark.

"Nastu... I... I quit Fairytail." I lied.

"Why?" He asked.

"It's... It's none of your business." I replied.

"Yes it is! Lucy your my partner."

"Correction, was." I said.

It broke my heart to lie, especially to Natsu.

"Luce..." Natsu pulled me into his arms and I couldn't help but melt.

'Master was right. I'm already getting torn up and I haven't even left.'

"I don't understand Lucy... I thought you were happy with us... And with me? Lucy... I've lost so much.... I can't loose you too."

Before I could say anything Natsu lifted me onto his shoulder. He headed back to the guild.

"Natsu let me go!"

"Never In a million years Luce. I'm never Letting you go!" He stated.

He carried me back to the Guild and to avoid the whole Guild he jumped up to the masters window and entered still holding me up on his shoulder.

"Nastu, Lucy?" The Master asked confused.

"You have some explaining to do Gramps. Why did Lucy quit Fairytail?" He asked.

Natsu finally put me down but he held onto my right hand.

"Lucy, I told you something like this would happen. This is just another sign that says to take him with you." Makarov sighed.

"I already told you, no!" I said back.

"Take me where?" Natsu asked.

"Nothing..." I stated.

"Nothing my ass! Spit it out old man." Natsu shouted.

"Lucy's no longer a Fairytail member as of today." The Master stated.

"Yeah I know. But what I want to know is why?" Natsu said sarcastically.

"Forgive me Lucy but this is for your own good."

Before I could stop him the Master explained everything to Natsu. I was expecting for Natsu to yell at the master but what he said only surprised me more.

"I accept." Nastu said.

"Very well." Before the master could remove Natsu's Guild mark I finally stepped in.

"Like hell! Natsu I'm not letting you quit Fairytail. Fairytail means everything to you! Master please, I can do this by myself."

"Fairtail isn't going anywhere. Besides Luce, you mean more to me. Makarov..." His words left me speechless.

'He's quitting Fairytail because of me?'

Makarov removed his Guild mark and smiled. "Well I feel better knowing that she's not alone. Protect her Natsu."

"With my life." Natsu said back. "Luce we should get going." Natsu pulled at my hand and we left the same way we came. On the way back to my apartment there was just silence.

'How could he?'

'This my fault.'

'I'm weak.'

'I'm worthless.'

'But most of all...'

'I'm pissed... He's gonna get it when we get back to my place. Natsu you idiot!'
