Jin had found out that Jungkook's birthday was coming up. It had almost been a year since they met. He still had not accepted him on his offer for them to date.

During the almost year time that he knew him, it just never felt right to him. His ex-husband had just passed away, and his wounds were still open. As much as Jimin wanted Jungkook apart of his life, Jin couldn't make it happen. He needed to get himself together first. He trusts that he would make the right decision when the time was right. He was not trying to rush things. He had learned from his past.

He made a vow that the next person he accepts in his and Jimin's life he would need to be one hundred percent certain of.

Jimin had turn four and Jin with the help of Jungkook had placed the younger into pre-school. Jimin being as advanced as he was and with Jungkook's teachings was way above the pre-school level. However, Jin did not want him moving onto kindergarten until he was five. He wanted Jimin to have the experience of being a child all the way.

With some guidance and counseling from Jungkook, he had gotten himself a job at the local bookstore/digital reading lab where he only worked part-time. In working there, he met Jung Hoseok his co-worker and now a good friend of Jin's.

Jin was starting to have some normalcy back in his life. Jungkook was a big help for him. He is exceptionally patient, and as much as he wants to date Jin, he doesn't push the boundaries. He is waiting patiently for Jin to give him the okay. Even though he struggles, especially when he sees how Jin's boss Kim Taehyung smiles at him.

He knows Jin is not interested, but it still annoys him. Therefore he makes up excuses to always try and have lunch with Jin whenever he has to work a full day at work.

One day while at the supermarket he saw Taehyung and pretended to be on the phone with Jin and spoke as though Jimin was their son. In his defense, he wasn't acting, and he was professing the things of the future. He was a man who believed greatly that one day he was going to get that chance and marry Jin and become a parent to Jimin.

Unbeknownst to him, Jin was planning a special birthday dinner for just the two of them so he could let Jungkook know he was ready to give him a chance that he was seeking.

As Jungkook pulled up to the driveway of Jin's house, which had become the norm for him. As he rarely went to his house first anymore. He always stopped by Jin's home first before heading to his house.

He noticed that there was a lot of lightings shining from the inside. He assumed maybe Jin was working on something new with Jimin. As he got on the porch and was ready to knock, Jin opened the door and smiled at him.

The first thing he noticed besides Jin's smile was the nervousness within his eyes. Second, the way he was dressed. He was dressed as though he was going on a date. Which caused a sudden pain in his chest.

"You look nice," Jungkook said to Jin.

Jin reached out and gave Jungkook a hug which shock the younger even more. This was so unlike Jin.

"Well, it's your birthday, silly," Jin said as he pulled away and smiled once more.

Jungkook looked around for the camera that would pop out and tell him that he's being pranked. No way this was Jin, and he knew it was his birthday. Jungkook didn't make a big deal about his birthday so the fact that Jin remembered meant something to him. He was only coming by to spend the day with Jimin and Jin in quiet.

"Please come in," Jin said after he realized Jungkook was not saying anything.

Jungkook walked into the home and was about to ask why all the lights. Until he notices two little feet's weren't running towards him. He wasn't being called Kookie either. Something was off.

"Where's Jimin, is he sleeping?" Jungkook asked as he looked around the room. His eyes stopped when it came in contact with the table filled with candlelights and plates with wine glasses.

"Jimin is with Hoseok. Today is your birthday, and I thought it would be nice if we celebrated it together as well as celebrate us official being a
c-couple?" Jin said, biting his lower lip as he looked at Jungkook.

Jungkook eyes went wide, "wait, us being a couple?!" He didn't care about the birthday celebration. All he cared about was Jin finally accepting him.

"I mean that's only if you still want to. I-I thought we are beyond the point of dating so...I mean mayb-" he was cut off by Jungkook's lips against his own.
