Amanda's POV

The last several weeks have flown by and today I am moving into my dorm. Eric is helping me move everything in. I am going to miss him so much while I am here. I know he said I can call him whenever I want and we have video chat and he will come up on the weekends whenever I want, but it's just not the same as seeing him every day whenever I want. This is my dream though and I need to see this through.

"Do you have everything packed?" he asks as he grabs a box to put in his truck.

"Yes, I do. Let me say goodby to dad, before we go."

"Alright, I'll be outside in the truck." He kissed my cheek and headed outside.

I walk over to dad in the kitchen. He looks up from his cup.

"Okay pumpkin, I wish you would let me take you."

"Dad, we had that discussion. It's already hard enough now. I will be home on holidays. I'll call you."

"I know, pumpkin. It's just you are finally leaving the nest and I will miss you."

"I will miss you too daddy, but you know I have to do this."

"I know you do. Now get out of here and make me proud, pumpkin. I love you."

"Love you too, daddy. I'll call you when we get there."
I hug him and then head out to the truck with Eric. He pulls out of the driveway and I see my dad standing in the doorway. I wave and he waves back as we head on our way. It was a two hour drive to campus and was somewhat of a quiet drive. Neither of us wanting to leave each other. I am glad we have this extra time to spend together. We soon arrive on campus and start taking my stuff to my room. I was thankful I got a room by myself. I like my own space and to be able to express myself. It was about an hour or so when we finally got everything in the room and he had helped me unpack. Once everything was done we both flopped on the bed and just cuddled into each other. I was glad that I got into a coed dorm and didn't have to worry about whether I was going to get in trouble with him here or not. We fell asleep in each other's arms for about an hour or so. We wake up and he places a soft kiss on my lips.

"Hey sweetheart, have a nice nap?"

"Yes, I did. I am hungry now, though."

"Okay, then let's go eat then."

We head out and get to a small diner down the street. It seemed like it was geared towards the college kids since it was inexpensive, had a lot of burgers and sandwiches, salads and some fun milkshakes. I think this will be my favorite while I'm here.

"I need to call dad to let him know that we are here and everything is finished. I totally forgot." I quickly pulled out my phone to call and he was already calling.

"Sorry daddy, I totally forgot to call you. Everything is great and unpacked."

"I'm so glad to hear that pumpkin. I got a little worried."

"I'm okay, daddy. I will call you later this week."

"Alright pumpkin, I love you."

"Love you too, daddy." I hang up and we go back to eating and talking.

"So are you going to head back soon?"

"Do you want me to?"
"No, I don't. I would love for you to stay the night. I don't want you to leave yet."

"Okay sweetheart, shall we go back and watch some movies?"

"Let's do that."

We head back to my dorm room. I grab my laptop and pull up Netflix. We ordered pizza and spent a quiet evening together. It was late into the night when we finally decided to get ready for bed. We crawl into bed and I snuggle up to him as he wraps his arms around me and kisses the top of my head.

"Goodnight sweetheart."

"Goodnight, I am so glad you stayed."

"Me too."

We soon fall asleep curled up in each other's arms.

Eric's POV

I woke up the next morning with my girl curled into me. I wish this could be every day, but I need to let her live her dreams. I slowly move and kiss her forehead. She slowly stirs and moves up to kiss me. She stretches and sits up.

"Good morning, sleep okay?"

"Good morning, I slept very well. Even in this small bed, with you I am always good. Are you hungry?"

"I am."
"Let's go get some breakfast before I have to go home."
"Alright"

We headed out to the diner again and had breakfast. After we finish eating we head back to her dorm, and we say our goodbyes. It was so hard to leave her, but I know it's not forever and I will see her again soon. I head back on the road for the couple hours back home, and I head over to my uncle's when I get back. I sent Amanda a quick text that I had arrived home safely and she responded to let me know she was glad and she already missed me. I sent back that I missed her too.

"Hey, nephew, what brings you here?"

"I dropped Amanda off at college and I didn't feel like going home. I kinda miss her already."

"Got it bad don't you?"

"Yeah, I think so."

"How about we head out for a beer and a game of pool?"

"Sounds good to me."
"Hey babe. Do you want to go with us?" He asks my aunt.

"No, you boys go have some fun. Call me if you need me to come get you!" she calls from the other room.

"Will do, love. Let's go nephew. Get your mind off of her for a bit."

We head out to the pool hall and set up a table and order a couple beers. We had been playing for a couple hours and I saw Jenkins walk in and my fists clench. He looks over at me and I see a smirk cross his lips. He is such an arrogant s.o.b. I am so glad that Amanda is away from him. I don't trust him at all. About an hour or so later, I walked up to the bar to get two more beers and Jenkins walked up next to me.

"I hear your girl left for college."

"That's none of your business."
"Hmmm, I might have to take a drive."

"How about a long drive off a short pier?"

"Haha, funny man. Mmm, she smells good doesn't she?"

"Back off, man!"

"I wonder how she would feel wrapped around me?"

I quickly turned to him and got up in his face and my fists clenched. I just want to punch him in the face.

"You touch her and I will kill you."
"Are you threatening an officer?"

I feel my uncle's hand on my shoulder.

"I believe you may have threatened someone else first." He mutters.

"Just stating facts. She will be mine someday and there is nothing you can do about it."
"Back off, or I will have to report you to your supervisor, and isn't that Amanda's father?" My uncle says back and I smirk at this dirt bag. He glares at me and heads out the door.

"I don't trust that guy."

"I don't either. He makes my blood boil."

"Let's get out of here."

We head out to the car and back to his house. He convinces me to spend the night since I have had a lot to drink. Before I fall asleep I text my girl.

Hey sweetheart. Hope your day was good. Just wanted to say goodnight and I miss you."

"Hey baby, my day was boring. I met a few people. Good night and I miss you too, sweet dreams."

"Sweet dreams baby."

I plug in my phone, crawl under the covers and close my eyes falling into dreamland thinking about my girl.
