Eric's POV

I had just woken up and I heard commotion out in the hall and the door opened as her father came in. He rushes over to her and takes her hand as he kisses her forehead.

"Oh pumpkin, what happened?" He stands back and looks at me.

"I'm not sure Matt called me from the office and said he found her at the bottom of the stairs. I didn't understand. She usually didn't go near stairs by herself lately. She was unsteady on them." I answer with tears threatening to fall.

"No, it doesn't sound right. Did she have any enemies?"

"Not really, she got along well with her coworkers, except for the new receptionist who seemed to have a thing for me. I wouldn't think she would do anything to harm Amanda though."

"Hmm, jealousy can make people do evil things."

"I guess we need to ask Amanda when she wakes up, if she remembers."

"I hope it is soon. I don't like to see her like this."
"How long are you staying?"

"As long as I need to."

It had been a couple days and the doctor decided to take Amanda off her beds to wake her up. They also brought the baby in to stay with us. The nurses helped me with feeding and changing her. I just wish that Amanda was awake to hold her little girl.

"May I hold her?" Jordan asks.

"Absolutely, grandpa." I hand her over and he holds her to his chest as he bounces her. I can see the love in his eyes.

"My little granddaughter, you are so beautiful. You have your mother's eyes. I wish she were awake to see you."

"So do I."

The doctor comes in to check on her again.

"Hello, gentleman. How is our girl doing?"

"The same as yesterday." I answer.

"Well, her vitals are all normal. It is all up to her when she will wake up."

"Do you know how long it could be?" I ask.

"It all depends. It could be tomorrow or next month. She has to want to wake up." Dr. Adams says with a small smile.

"Thank you doctor."

She leaves and we sit and talk for a couple hours. Soon Matt and Kyle come in. They immediately swoop in and pick up the baby.

"OOoo, let me see my niece." Matt cooed as he picked her up.

"Oh my cosh, she is adorable! You are right she looks just like her mother." Kyle gushes.

"How is our girl? Any update?" Matt asks as he sits down with her.

"They have taken her off the medication, so it is now up to her to wake up."

"She will soon. She can't stay away from you for too long." Kyle says, trying to console me.

The guys stay around until visiting hours are over. I gave my keys to her dad and told him to go back to my house and get some sleep. I told him if anything changed I would call him. I don't think he would get much sleep in that chair. He argued with me for a moment, until I finally convinced him. I sat next to her with our baby in my arms as I talked to her for a while until I decided to lay down and try to get some sleep. I fed our girl and snuggled with her until I fell asleep. The next morning I get up and put my little girl back into her bassinet and walk back over to Amanda. I sit down next to her and lay my head on her stomach.

"My love, please come back to me. Our little girl needs her momma. She needs a name. I can't do it without you. I know you are strong. I miss you and I love you so much. Please fight and come back to me."

I close my eyes as the tears start falling. I lay there for a while with my eyes closed as I prayed to anyone that would listen. Soon I feel a hand stroke my hair and I look up and see those beautiful eyes staring back at me. I sit up and kiss her lips.

"Oh my love, I have missed you so much. How are you feeling?"

She quickly looks at her stomach and both hands fly there and she begins to cry.

"The baby, what happened?"

She is okay. She is just over there. Let me get her for you. First let's sit you up."

I help her sit the bed up and I go pick up our girl and bring her over. I place her in Amanda's arms and she begins to cry.

"She's beautiful, she has your nose. Is she okay?"

"She is perfect. Are you ready to give her a name?"

"You haven't told them her name?"

"I wanted to wait for you. Let me call everyone so they know you're awake."

I call everyone and they arrive very quickly. The first to come in is her dad followed by Matt and Kyle.

"Hey pumpkin, so glad to see you awake."

"Hey dad."

"Hey bunny, you had us worried."

"Good to see you, A. So tell us her name."

Amanda looks at me and I smile back at her. "I would like everyone to meet Madison Taylor Stoltz.

Her dad instantly starts to tear up. "You gave her your mom's name?"

"Yes, I wanted to honor mom. She will never get to see her granddaughter grow up so we thought she could carry on the name."

"That's beautiful, pumpkin. She has some big shoes to fill."

"She will make her own way and I know mom will be proud of her."

"Yes, she will and I know she is super proud of you."
"Thank you, dad."

"On another note, why were you on the stairs at work. Eric says you usually stay away from them?"

"I usually do. Stacy asked me to help her and then I felt her push me down. She tried to kill me or the baby or both."

"That stupid bitch!" I yelled. I can't believe she tried to kill my girl.

"Calm down son. I will call the police department and have them come here and take Amanda's statement and then we go get Stacy."
"I knew she wasn't any good. I just never thought she would stoop to cause bodily harm."
"She's bat crap crazy." Matt says, shaking his head.

Jordan calls the local police and gives them all the details. They send over two police officers and Amanda tells them everything that happened that day. They took down the statements from her and Matt and left to arrest Stacy. She was found at home claiming she knew nothing about it. She said she had left early because she wasn't feeling well. After a while they called and told us she was in custody and would be charged. The doctor comes to check on Amanda and see she is awake.

"Nice to see you awake, Amanda. How are you feeling?"

"I'm okay. My stomach hurts though."

"Let me just check everything." She checks her incision and all her vitals. She said that everything was good and if she keeps doing well she should be able to go home in a couple days.

"Oh my gosh, I haven't called Uncle Troy or Aunt Tonya yet. They're gonna kill me!" I step outside and give them a call.

"Hey son, haven't heard from you in a while. How are things?"

"They are better now. Amanda is in the hospital."
"Is she okay? How is the baby?" Aunt Tonya asks. They put me on speaker so they could both hear me.

"They are both fine. She fell down the stairs with a little help from a crazy coworker and had to have an emergency c-section and they had to stop some bleeding due to her anemia. They are both fine and awake now."

"That's great son. You two always seem to find trouble don't you?"

"Hahaha, yeah I guess we do."

"Listen, we are gonna fly out to see everyone in a couple days." Aunt Tonya adds.

"That would be good. She should be home by then."

"What's her name?"

"Madison Taylor"

"That's so pretty. Give Amanda and Madison our love and we will see you in a couple days."

"I will. You be careful."

I walk back in and I see Amanda cuddled with Madison and the guys sitting around talking. I never would have thought that this would ever be my life, a dad. Now that she is here and I have held that tiny body in my arms i would never trade it for the world.

"How are my girls doing?"

"We are fine, daddy."

I walk over and sit next to them on the bed. Leaning over I kiss her temple as I look down at our little girl.

"Such a beautiful family." Kyle smiles.

"I agree." Matt says as he kisses Kyle's cheek.

The guys visit for a little while longer before they head out. It's just us and her dad.

"I am so glad you are doing well, pumpkin. You had me worried for a bit."

"Me too, I don't know how I would have done this without her."

Madison becomes fussy and I pick her up from Amanda's arms and take her to change her diaper. I pick up a bottle and hand her back. She settles in eating and Amanda looks up at me with a smile on her face.

It's been a few days and the girls can finally go home. Her dad would be flying out this afternoon. He wanted to be there when she came home. My aunt and uncle would be flying in and said they would get an uber to the house and not to worry about picking them up. I told them it was no problem but they insisted.

"Are you ready, my love?"

"More than ready. Let's get out of here."

I grab the wheelchair and Amanda sits down with Madison and we all head out to the car. I place little Maddy on her seat and help her mother into the seat next to her. Her dad and I climb in the front and we head home. Once we get there I help her into our bed and place Madison in the bassinet.

"Alright pumpkin, I have got to go. I am so glad you are doing okay. You have a beautiful family and congratulations."
I walk him out as the uber pulls up. He pulls me into a hug.

"I know we got off to a bad start. I am so sorry for how I treated you. I see how much you love my daughter and how much you will protect the both of them."

"Thank you, it means a lot."

We stood outside and talked for a few more minutes before he climbed in and headed off to the airport. I headed back inside to make dinner for my love. When it was done I took it upstairs to her.

"Thank you baby, I am starving."

We sit and eat as we watch a movie as little pea sleeps next to us. After a few hours I hear a knock at the door. I head down and open it and there stands my aunt and uncle.

"Hey son, it is so good to see you."

"My boy, where is that baby? I need to see her."

"Hahaha, nice to see you too. Follow me, she is sleeping at the moment."

We head up to the bedroom and Amanda sits up with a huge smile on her face.

"Hey guys, so good to see you."

"How's our girls doing?" Aunt Tonya asks.

"Much better now that we are home."

"Can I see her?"

"Absolutely, you can pick her up. She is a heavy sleeper."

She walks over and carefully picks Madison up, and comes over with her.

"She is absolutely beautiful. Eric, she has your nose."

"Good thing that is all she got. Hahahah!" My uncle laughs.

"I agree. I wouldn't want to saddle her with this ugly mug."

"Aww baby, that is a handsome face, and I like it."

I walk over and kiss her lips. "Thank you baby."

We sit and talk for a bit and I show them the guest room. I could tell Amanda was getting tired and it was time for Madison to eat. Aunt Tonya handed her over and we walked out. After they get settled in their room, we head downstairs for a little while longer and catch up on things. I soon started yawning.

"Son, go get some sleep. We can handle it from here. You need your rest and should get it while you can. We will be fine."

"Thanks uncle, see you in the morning."

"Good night sweety, see you in the morning. We will be heading up soon."

I head upstairs and see Amanda asleep with Madison cuddled up into her. I quietly picked up Maddy and placed her in her bassinet. I undress and crawl in behind her as I wrap my arms around her.

"I love you sweetheart."

I quickly fall asleep.
