Astigma
Your first impression of Astigma was that he was ugly. He was red, wrinkly, and soaked in bodily fluids. His cry was loud and annoying too. But in that moment, you couldn't have been happier with him. He was your ugly baby. Yours that you cradled in your arms as you leaned back on the pillows given to you. You heard Papyrus say something to you, but you didn't really hear it. You kinda just gave him an exhausted smile and drifted off. Papyrus gave a lighthearted scoff as he carefully picked up the also sleeping baby, likely sleeping off his first meal. Papyrus swaddled Astigma and laid him down in his crib before he cleaned up the birthing mess. Or tried to without waking you up. He was probably going to have to get a new mattress all together now. With one final check on you and the baby, he left the room to wash up himself. He acknowledged Sans with a simple nod, though he couldn't hide the joy he felt knowing that his son was born. Sans grinned back, patting his shoulder to display his joy for the younger.

You both learned quickly that parenting was a lot harder than you'd realized. Babies were demanding little shits and since crying was the only way they could express themselves, it was a whole lot worse on the household. Luckily, you and Papyrus had an expert in the house. And an expert Sans was indeed. Human babies and skeleton young weren't too different. Having raised Papyrus, Sans found that out immediately as he coached you and Papyrus through the different meanings behind a baby's cry. Long low wails meant he was tired. Loud, sharp cries meant he was hungry or had a rash. You and Papyrus were good at preventing those though. Regularly paced cries meant that he pissed or shit himself. Etc, etc. It was nice having Sans around if either of you were confused, because there were some things you simply couldn't learn from the books. Astigma wasn't all bad. If you and Papyrus did things right, he was actually a rather happy little boy. He wasn't so red or wrinkly either. He looked like a normal human baby with dark [H/C] hair and deep blue eyes. The books said they'd change to their real eye color over time. He was actually a pretty cute baby after all.

Eventually Papyrus had to go back to his duties as a sentry and had Sans laid off so someone could stay home to protect you and Astigma. Papyrus was positive that Astigma had caught the attention of monsters outside and he didn't want them trying anything while they were out. Likewise Papyrus had heard that Undyne had been over, so he was now trying to keep his mentor as far as possible from the house. Undyne was the major threat now. If Undyne couldn't get you, she'd tell the king, and nobody could come close to beating the king in battle. Sans, Papyrus, Astigma, and yourself would all be slaughtered in an instant, your and Astigma's souls would be absorbed and the barrier would be broken. A lot was riding on Sans and Papyrus to keep their favorite humans alive and well. Only time would tell if they would succeed in their efforts...
