Chapter 3: Friday
A few days have passed by, making today Friday. Toast was happy that the weekend was near, but disappointed at the fact that this meant he wouldn't see Ghost for some time. The two had been talking more everyday during lunch, and it had been a lot of fun for him. Though he couldn't help but think it wasn't real, that when Friday goes by and Toast returns to school the next week, Ghost would be gone like he's never even existed.
Toast sighed, clearing his thoughts and walking into the cafeteria, heading to his usual table where Ghost was already sitting. Ghost looked up at Toast as he sat down, shooting him a big grin. "Hey there, Toast."
Toast smiled back and greeted him, getting out his lunch as Ghost started talking about something at random. The two talked for a while, when suddenly Ghost seemed to light up as he remembered something.
"Oh, yeah! I was going to ask, since it's Friday and we don't have any homework to do or anything, if you'd like to hang out after class. Just us, I was thinking we could go walk around somewhere and maybe even find someone to prank." Ghost offered, a grin still on his lips as Toast's eyes widened, freezing as he thought of an answer.
"I-I'd be happy to hang out, but.. I'm not really a prankster like you are." He chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of his neck.
"That's cool, you could be my lookout. As long as you're not too easily distracted by my good looks." He winked, and Toast glared at him.
"I don't see anything to be distracted by. B-but still, I.. Don't know about pranking people, I prefer to stay out of trouble." He looked at the ground awkwardly, and Ghost gave a kind smile.
"Well, that's alright then. I can save my amazing prank ideas for later, me and you can just hang out." He offered, and Toast nodded, smiling at him. "How about we both meet up after class ends?"
"That sounds good." Toast grinned back at Ghost.
The two carried on with normal conversations, before lunch was eventually over and the two went their separate ways for class.
The day dragged on unbearably slow as Toast grew more and more excited about later that day. It seemed silly for him to be so excited to hang out with someone, everyone has friends they meet up with after school. For Toast though, it felt different as he'd never had a friend to hang out with before. Acquaintances maybe, but nobody too close to him.
When classes finally did come to an end, Toast sent a text message to his parents, saying he'd be out for longer that day so they wouldn't worry. He waited outside of the school for Ghost, watching the school doors for him to exit.
He was suddenly startled by someone grabbing him from behind, turning him around to face them suddenly and leaning close to his face. Toast's eyes were shut tightly in shocked fear, not knowing who had grabbed him.
"Boo.." An all to familiar voice whispered directly next to his ear, sending shivers down his spine before he shoved said person back, opening his eyes and pouting at him.
"Was scaring me really necessary?" Toast questioned Ghost, who shrugged and chuckled at him expression.
"It sure was fun. And you're pretty cute when you pout like that." He grinned, tapping him on the nose and laughing when Toast just pouted some more. "Oh come on, Johnny. We're supposed to be having fun~"
Toast stuck his tongue out at Ghost, but stopped pouting and smiled at him, Ghost smiling widely back at him. "So, is there anything in particular you'd like to do?" Toast asked.
"I was thinking we could go to the park, and I could show you my favorite thing to do when I have spare time." He laughed, and Toast frowned. "Don't worry, it's not pranking people. Trust me a little more, will ya?"
Toast relaxed at that, and was caught off guard when Ghost grabbed his arm and tugged him along, running in a random direction with Toast close behind him.
Toast asked Ghost where they were running to, but his only reply was, "you'll see!" As Ghost picked up his pace. Toast did his best to keep up, looking around only to find he didn't really recognize the streets they passed through.
Finally, the pair of them came to a stop, Ghost excitedly tugging off his book bag and opening it up as Toast took a moment to look around. "A.. skate park?" He questioned, turning to look at Ghost in confusion.
"Yup!" Ghost held his own skateboard that he pulled out of his bag, showing it off to Toast proudly before he set it on the ground, one foot on the board and the other kicking off so he began to move forward, right towards a big hole in the cement that covered the park. "Watch this!" He called over his shoulder as he fell right into it, Toast's eyes going wide as he scampered over to the side to peer in cautiously, seeing Ghost landed safely inside as he let out a breath he only just realized he'd been holding.
"You scared me! What if you fell and got hurt in there!" Toast called down to him, and Ghost shrugged.
"I'm fine though, aren't I? I've practiced skateboarding a while now! Don't be worried, I wouldn't dream of falling and messing up this pretty face." Ghost laughed, while Toast simply frowned.
"But-you should be careful." Toast mumbled, and then spoke louder. "Cause if you break your leg, don't expect me to carry your butt home."
Ghost laughed loudly, and Toast had to admit when Ghost laughed it was very nice. He sounded so genuine and happy, even when Toast had just said something rude.
"Well, then I won't expect it. But that's not gonna stop me from skateboarding." He chuckled, and Toast found himself smiling even as he shook his head at the other boy in front of him. It was really nice to have someone to talk with like this, that made him smile and laugh. He hoped they would be friends for a while.

The two hung out the rest of the day, until the sun was beginning to set and Toast checked his phone for the time. "It's only six-thirty.. I'm still not used to it getting dark so early."
"Yeah, it seems like it should be way later." Ghost laughed. "But we should probably get home, before it gets too dark out to see. I can walk you back to your place, if you'd like?"
"Unless it's out of your way, you really don't have to." Toast answered, frowning a bit. Ghost asked him his address, revealing that he lived in the neighborhood right next to Toast's.
"Well, that's convenient." Toast laughed, Ghost joining in as they began their trek back home.
I'm sosososososososo sorry this is so late I know please don't hate me
I have my reasons!
Mostly I went on vacation for a while to visit my family in Florida, which was pretty fun(minus a few things which are also why it's been so long). I.. have not been very mentally well recently, and it's been bothering me quite a bit, to the point that I don't have much motivation to do anything, and I can't even write to make myself feel better.
I hope that you all will understand, and I will do my best to continue updating this on a schedule and have extra chapters already written up and ready to upload, but I just can't say that I will be able to do this until the stories over. If things continue to get worse for me, I may disappear again. I apologize again for disappearing, and in advance in case something does happen.
In all honesty, there were times when I felt so awful I wanted to give up writing completely, but I couldn't let you guys down. ^-^ you guys all make me so happy, thank you all so so much for reading my stories and leaving your feedback on them, you're all so kind and you really motivated me to continue on. I just recently got 300 followers, and I'm so happy that many people out there have liked something about my books and decided to follow and see more.
Thank you all so so so so so much, and I will do my best to see you soon with a new chapter. I hope that you've enjoyed so far. Bye!-Bob
