White Woods
Never forget to lock your door, my mom always told me. It didn't matter. Always, my limbs moved on their own accord. Always, they found a way to escape. Only, this time, I wasn't back in bed with sodden socks and cut up skin. When I opened my eyes, all I saw was white.
Was I in heaven?
Impossible.
I was a devil that not even God could save. Perhaps that was why he tortured me so. Perhaps that was why I was in the middle of the woods, surrounded by snow. Beautiful, terrifying snow.I stumbled. My bones gave out, frigid from the cold and brittle from the distance. I laid down on the snow, heavy and tired. Finally, I slept.
