Leorio and Kurapila go to the movies to try and get Leorio to relax
while having a sweet and wholesome date!

Leorio let out a frustrated sigh, grumbling to himself, "Damn, why is this so difficult?" He was sprawled out on his couch, his long legs splayed out in front of him.

Leorio was currently engrossed in a random crossword puzzle game that he had downloaded on the app store, thinking it would boost his brainpower and intelligence.

Leorio continued to struggle with the game, realizing that it was a clever ploy to trick him into downloading it. Frustrated, he also came to the conclusion that he was utterly terrible at crossword puzzles. The characters, hints, and words on his phone's screen blurred together, leaving him more crazed than ever.

Leorio's annoyed groans filled the air, and he couldn't help but think that Killua, one his friends for the past few years, was right; he was indeed getting old. Suddenly, the sound of the door opening caused him to glance up, and his eyes fell on a familiar sight: a shorter blonde male entering the room.

Leorio's face softened as Kurapika stood before him, a quizzical expression on his face. "Seriously, Leorio, what the heck are you getting so mad about?" Kurapika inquired, arms folded as he looked down at the man lounging on the couch.

Leorio and Kurapika currently shared a cozy apartment together in York New. However, there were times when the blonde struggled to comprehend the inner workings of Leorio's mind. Living together had certainly allowed them to get close, but it had also revealed some of Leorio's more crazy side.

Kurapika had quickly become acquainted with the unique experience of living with Leorio.

His romantic relationship with the taller man was a whole new level of challenge, considering it was Kurapika's first serious relationship ever. Navigating their differences and also living together brought both joy and frustration to the blondes life.

Kurapika had indeed taken a significant amount of time to adjust to living with Leorio on a daily basis, especially after being alone for so long.

While he had become somewhat accustomed to the doctor's presence and quirks, he still found himself occasionally surprised by certain behaviors. One such instance involved his current irritation as he stood in front of Leorio, who was groaning and whining over a supposedly calming app on his phone.

Despite Kurapika's occasional irritation at Leorio's actions, he silently admitted to himself that he found these moments somewhat endearing.

Deep down, he knew he loved Leorio, and he knew the feeling was mutual. In truth, these minor annoyances were a part of what made their relationship unique and special. Kurapika recognized that he wouldn't trade these moments with Leorio for anything else, as they were an essential part of the love they shared.

Leorio wrapped his arms around Kurapika, a weary sigh escaping his lips. "Kurapika," he began, his voice tinged with exhaustion, "I just want to be smarter, but sometimes I think I just need a break." He paused as he shut off his phone, continuing, "The work at the hospital has been too much lately, and as satisfying as it is to see others getting healthier..." His words trailed off as he let out another exhausted sigh.

Leorio was physically and mentally drained after a long, intensive week of work at the hospital. While he felt immense joy and pride in fulfilling his dream of helping others, the responsibilities and late hours at the hospital had taken a toll on him.

Even strong hunter doctors needed time to rest and have time to themselves, and now Leorio's fatigue and exhaustion were starting to show.

Leorio spoke, his voice weary and filled with a mix of determination and exhaustion. "I've been working nonstop for days now, but it feels like it's never enough. I just want to help everyone and make them healthy and happy," he confessed.

Kurapika, listening to the doctor's words, could sense the depth of his fatigue. In response, Kurapika gently patted Leorio on the back, acknowledging the heavy weight upon the doctor's shoulders.

Kurapika pulled back briefly, gazing up into Leorio's weary eyes. "Leorio," he said firmly, "you're putting too much stress on yourself. I understand that you want to help everyone, but even doctors need a break!" Kurapika's tone was filled with a mixture of concern and understanding.

He knew that Leorio's desire to help others often led him to push himself to the brink, sacrificing his own well being in the process.

Leorio nodded in agreement, a tired smirk playing on his lips. "Yeah, yeah, I know," he acknowledged.

His expression softened as he continued, "But I'm just glad I have my sunshine here to wake me up in the mornings with a smile on his face!" Kurapika internally cringed at Leorio's attempt at cheesiness, but he managed to maintain his reassuring smile.

After a moment of awkward silence, Kurapika decided to break it, suggesting, "Hey, Leorio, how about we go to the movies? It'll be fun!" Kurapika's smile widened as he waited for Leorio's response, hoping that the idea of a movie night would lift his spirits.

Leorio paused for a moment, considering Kurapika's suggestion. He knew he desperately needed a break, and spending time with his boyfriend sounded like a great idea. After a few seconds, a smile spread across his face.

"Alright, then!" Leorio smiled at Kurapika and replied, "You know I can never say no to you. So, which movie do you want to watch? Or should we just pick one at random?" Leorio silently prayed that they wouldn't end up watching a horror movie, but a moment later, he regretted asking Kurapika the question when the shorter man perked up with excessive enthusiasm.

Kurapika loves horror films, but Leorio has quite the opposite feelings for them.

Horror movies are just too intense for Leorio to handle, his mind can't keep up with the suspense, gore, and jump scares. Unlike Kurapika, who embraces the thrill of the horror genre, Leorio prefers to steer clear of anything that might give him nightmares.

Leorio groans sarcastically as Kurapika grins mischievously. The blonde rolls his eyes, knowing full well what his partner has in mind. "You know I can't stand horror movies," he grumbles, but Kurapika's grin only widens. "Oh, Leorio, you're in for a real treat," Kurapika says slyly.

"I'll pick out the perfect movie for us. You just go and get ready." Before Leorio can protest further, Kurapika pushes him into the bathroom with surprising strength.

Leorio feels a mixture of dread and anticipation as he enters the bathroom and shuts the door before him.

He knows that Kurapika has already decided which movie they're going to watch, and he knows it won't be anything pleasant like a romantic comedy or an action film. Leorio sighs and starts getting ready, knowing there's no use in trying to argue or change Kurapika's mind.

As he gets ready, he can't help but wonder how bad the movie is going to be, and whether he'll make it through the night without having nightmares.

Meanwhile, in the other bathroom Kurapika stands in the shower, letting the warm water run over his body.

He runs his hands through his hair, feeling the strands loosen and become smoother. As he soaps up his body, he thinks to himself about the movie he had initially planned to watch with Leorio. He knows that horror films aren't Leorio's cup of tea, and he doesn't want to make his boyfriend uncomfortable or scared. Maybe I should pick a different genre tonight, he thinks to himself. After all, it's more important that we have a good time together.

Kurapika closes his eyes, savoring the scent of the apple shampoo and conditioner as he lathers his hair with them. He pictures the upcoming evening in his mind, a cozy night spent with Leorio, enjoying a great movie and each other's company. A small smile tugs at the corners of his mouth, and he feels a sense of relaxation wash over him.

Yes, tonight will be a wonderful evening, he thinks to himself as he rinses off the shampoo and conditioner.

Kurapika lingered in the shower, luxuriating in the warmth and the scent of almonds from his body wash. As he rinsed the suds from his body, he realized that he had to get ready for their movie night. "Leorio!" he called out loudly, his voice echoing through their apartment.

Footsteps could be heard, "yes Kurapika? Are you all ready?" The blonde sighed, "no not yet but i really need a towel, so throw one in here!"

Leorio chuckled, "Sure thing, coming right up!" He grabbed a towel from the bathroom and quickly folded it into a neat square. "Catch!" he yelled, throwing it under the gap at the bottom of the door with perfect aim.

Leorio adjusted his striped tie for the umpteenth time, smoothing out the front of his dark navy blue suit. His fingers tapped against his knee impatiently.

Half an hour had passed, and his boyfriend was still in the bathroom, blow drying his hair and changing into his own outfit. Leorio glanced at the clock again, the seconds hand seeming to mockingly tick by. He sighed, standing up from the edge of the bed and pacing across the room.

Leorio stopped pacing and looked at Kurapika as the blonde entered the room. Kurapika raised an eyebrow in confusion, noticing Leorio's attire. "Why are you dressed in a suit and tie to the movies?" he asked. Leorio shrugged, scratching the back of his head sheepishly.

While Leorio made it an effort to dress up for the occasion, Kurapika opted for a more casual look, sporting a cozy sweater and a pair of dark brown pants. Leorio flashed a wide smile as he stood up from the couch and said, "Why, of course I have to look my best! And you look absolutely stunning without your usual Kurta attire."

Kurapika shrugged nonchalantly, replying, "I just felt like dressing like this today. It was a whim, really."

Underneath his casual demeanor, Kurapika couldn't help but feel a warm sense of contentment whenever Leorio showered him with praise and affection. He basked in the joy of their relationship, grateful for all the beautiful moments they shared.

Although they faced their fair share of obstacles, Kurapika knew deep down that they were always able to work through any issues that arose. Leorio's unwavering support made Kurapika feel loved and secure, and he cherished every moment they spent together.

Leorio took a moment to assess their collective readiness, then grinned and said, "Well, since we're both all set, what do you say we get going?" He paused for a moment before adding, "By the way, have you decided on what movie we should watch?" With a keen eye, Kurapika noticed the hint of trepidation in Leorio's eyes.

Kurapika's smile broadened as he answered confidently, "Indeed, I have made my decision, and I can assure you that you will surely enjoy it."

Leorio exhaled deeply, preparing to make his way downstairs to flick all the lights off and collect his keys and wallet. Meanwhile, Kurapika stepped outside, patiently waiting for Leorio to ensure that everything was in order before they left. Leorio finally emerged, having made sure all was safe and sound.

He gave Kurapika a weary smile, saying, "All set to go, my love? It's getting rather late, you know."

"Ready and waiting!" Kurapika declared with a grin, while Leorio chuckled heartily in response. "Alright, I've triple checked that everything's in order, sunshine," Leorio declared as he locked the front door. The two ambled down the steps of their apartment complex, eventually reaching their car.

Being the designated driver was something Leorio had grown accustomed to, as Kurapika had never learned and had opted against learning, deeming it unnecessary.

Nonetheless, Kurapika didn't mind; he had the wonderful Leorio to chauffeur him around town, and he never minded taking public transportation or walking as an alternative.

The drive was quiet at first, until Kurapika turned on the radio. He gazed out of the window at the stunning sunset, admiring its beauty. With a soft voice, Kurapika declared, "It really is lovely, isn't it Leorio? I want you to know that I truly do love you, even though I don't say it very often."

Leorio's face turned bright red at Kurapika's affectionate words, and he quickly glanced over at his boyfriend before replying, "Kurapika! You're too sweet. I love you too!"

After a few moments, they reached the movie theater, and Leorio swiftly exited the vehicle, promptly hastening over to open the door for Kurapika.

"After you, sunshine!" Leorio beamed, holding his hand out for Kurapika to take. However, Kurapika simply rolled his eyes in response. "You're such a sap, Leorio," he said, but there was a hint of affection in his voice.

Nonetheless, he took Leorio's hand, and together they walked towards the theater doors.

Kurapika instructed Leorio to wait near the entrance while he rushed off to buy their tickets. "Alright, Leorio, you stay right there, and don't even think about peeking or eavesdropping!" Kurapika warned. "I want the movie to be a complete surprise, so no cheating!" With that, Kurapika dashed off to purchase the tickets.

Leorio took a seat at one of the tables in the cinema's bar area and glanced around, taking in the scenery of the theater lobby.

The walls in the lobby were impressively high, and the area was bustling with a significant number of people. On one side of the walls, there were arcade games specifically designed for the younger children, while the other side featured high resolution movie posters that showcased the currently showing movies.

Leorio chuckled softly as he scanned the various movie posters on display. His eyes darted from one title to another, contemplating each one, and wondering which one his boyfriend could have possibly picked out for them to see.

"My Little Pony: The Movie? How childish," he muttered to himself, looking at the poster next to that one, "Saw X? I really hope it's not that!" "Inside Out 2? It's cute, but why would Kurapika choose a Pixar film?"

Then his eyes darted to one that took him completely out of surprise, "Hunter x Hunter: The Last Mission? Why are there movies about us? I should seriously consider suing them for copyright!"

Leorio found himself at a loss, realizing that guessing what movie Kurapika had in mind was an impossible task. The man's mind was utterly unpredictable.

He let out an audible sigh and spotted Kurapika making his way back towards him.

Kurapika returned to Leorio's side with a pleased expression, holding a large bucket of popcorn, two sizable drinks, and a selection of sweets. "Hey, Leorio! I got us snacks!" he announced happily.

Leorio's eyes lit up with excitement at the sight of the snacks that Kurapika had brought over. "Looks delicious! Thank you, my beautiful sunshine," he said and planted a gentle kiss on his cheek. Kurapika's face blushed fiercely in response.

"LEORIO! We're in public, so no funny business!" Kurapika protested, but Leorio simply rolled his eyes at his boyfriend's shyness.

Leorio raised his hands innocently, laughing softly. "Alright, alright. So, did you get the tickets?" he inquired, relieving Kurapika of some of the snack items to help lighten the load.

"Yep, I did," Kurapika replied with a smile. "Now, follow me!"

They eventually located their seats yet Leorio was struck by an odd observation as they settled into their seats. Ordinarily, when Kurapika chose the movie for their cinema visit, the audience would typically consist of adults, drawn by a horror theme. However, today, the demographic seemed notably different.

Leorio's mind raced to understand the unusual crowd at the theater. It was a mix of adults and young children, a stark contrast to their usual experience.

Well, Killua does enjoy watching scary movies, Leorio observed quietly, trying to discern why the audience composition had changed so significantly, since he was very sure Kurapika picked out a horror movie, per usual.

Kurapika unwrapped a small bag of sweets and began to munch on them as the trailers for upcoming films played on the big screen, casting the entire theater in a soft glow. Everyone in the audience grew silent as they focused their attention on the movie previews.

Leorio couldn't help but pay attention to the trailers, and his confusion grew with every clip that appeared on the screen. Each one featured a children's movie, an unexpected selection that left him baffled.

"What's going on here?" he whispered to himself, his mind racing with thoughts. "Is Kurapika pulling a prank on me?"

Leorio's surprise escalated even further when the main feature finally started rolling on the screen. His expression turned into one of shock and disbelief.

"I can't even believe it ..." he muttered, struggling to comprehend the unfolding scene.

Leorio's eyes widened as the vibrant colors and loud, cheery songs of the My Little Pony: The Movie danced across the screen.

"No way... is it really the..." he mumbled, feeling absolutely dumbfounded at the unexpected choice.

Leorio's disbelief grew as the realization sank in, Kurapika had picked the My Little Pony: The Movie as their film. He was completely dumbfounded and speechless.

Leorio let out a mixture of laughter and a sigh of relief, amused by the choice of movie. Despite the potential strangeness of two adult men watching a children's movie, he was genuinely glad it wasn't a horror film.

Leorio glanced to his side, a broad smile forming on his face as he looked at Kurapika. He couldn't help but feel happy and giddy, realizing that his boyfriend had selected a movie that both of them could enjoy without any fear of nightmares afterwards.

Leorio's smile widened as he wrapped his arm around Kurapika's shoulders, feeling a warm sense of appreciation towards his thoughtful boyfriend. Kurapika had selected a light hearted film to help Leorio relax and unwind, considering how stressed the doctor had been feeling. It was such a considerate gesture that only made Leorio's affection for him deepen.

Leorio and Kurapika continued to watch the movie, stealing glances at each other and occasionally intertwining their fingers. It was a delightful experience, made even better by the fact that they were sharing it together. They continued to munch on the assortment of treats they had bought, enjoying the sweetness of the snacks as well as each other's presence.

As the credits rolled and the movie concluded, Leorio found himself pleasantly surprised. He had actually enjoyed the experience more than he had initially anticipated. The songs and visuals were delightful, and the film had brought back a sense of childlike wonder.

Leorio realized it had been a while since they had visited the movie theater. Between their busy schedules and the few times they had managed to squeeze in a movie night with Killua, Gon, and Alluka, they hadn't had much opportunity to go out just the two of them.

Leorio chuckled, standing up from their seats as the credits continued to play. "You know what, Kurapika? That movie was really great! I think I should trust your taste in films more often."

He grinned, jokingly adding, "But then again, maybe I'll regret saying that because you just might take me to some horrific movie next time."

Kurapika let out a soft giggle at Leorio's comment, enjoying the playful banter. As they walked out of the theater, it was now completely dark outside. They made their way back to their car, climbed inside, and began the drive home.

—— ★ ——

Upon returning home, Kurapika stepped up on his toes and planted a little kiss on Leorio's lips, expressing his affection and signifying that, regrettably, the magic of their movie night was coming to an end. It was time to face reality once again.

Kurapika spoke to Leorio from the foot of the stairs, suggesting, "Why don't we change into our pajamas and then have dinner?" Leorio nodded in agreement.
Kurapika headed upstairs to their shared bedroom, with Leorio following closely behind.

Leorio and Kurapika changed into their comfortable pajamas and washed their faces, feeling fresh and relaxed. Leorio settled onto the living room couch and turned on the television, idly watching a random program.

Meanwhile, Kurapika busied himself in the kitchen, preparing a simple and delicious dinner for them to enjoy.

Kurapika's voice echoed through the air as he called out to Leorio, signaling that dinner was ready. "Leorio, dinner's ready!"

The doctor quickly turned off the television and headed towards the dining table. There, he saw a delectable plate of pasta accompanied by a side of vegetables, set out for them to share.

Leorio thoroughly adored the times when Kurapia cooked for him, savoring every bite of the home cooked meal. They ate in comfortable silence, enjoying each other's company and the delicious food, until their plates were empty.

moments later Leorio was now settled into the comfort of their bed, snuggled under the covers. Meanwhile, Kurapika was downstairs in the kitchen, preparing a soothing cup of tea for the both of them to enjoy before going to sleep.

Leorio let out a contented sigh as he lay in the cozy and inviting bed. The comfort of the blankets and the warmth of the room seemed to wash away all his worries and troubles.

Kurapika entered the bedroom, holding a steaming cup of tea in each hand. He set his tea down on the bedside table and handed a cup to Leorio, who gratefully accepted it. The two then settled into the bed, wrapping their arms around each other and snuggling close.

Leorio took a few sips of his tea, relishing the warm and soothing drink. Kurapika was engrossed in reading a book, his eyes scanning the pages as he immersed himself in the story.

Leorio couldn't help but watch his boyfriend with a content smile on his face, finding comfort in the peaceful domesticity of their evening routine.

The tea had done its job, and Leorio found himself feeling more relaxed and at ease. His worries about work and self-improvement seemed to fade away, replaced by a sense of contentment.

With Kurapika by his side, and the support of his friends, he knew that he could face any challenge life threw at him.

With the tea cups emptied and the book set aside on the bedside table, both Leorio and Kurapika
slipped under the covers, ready to drift into a peaceful sleep.

Leorio shifted to face Kurapika in bed, a smile on his face as he started to speak. "Hey sunshine, I really loved the movie today." He knew that Kurapika always appreciated the pet names he called him, especially sunshine, after that first day in the hunter exam, he had always called him that.

Kurapika turned on his side to face Leorio, locking eyes with him and giving him a radiant smile. "I'm glad you enjoyed it, dear," he said. "Whenever you need a break from work and feel like unwinding, we should definitely visit the movies again."

Leorio beamed with happiness at Kurapika's words, elated at the prospect of spending more quality time with his lovely boyfriend. He cherished every moment they spent together, and the idea of more movie nights sounded like a dream come true.

Kurapika nestled closer to Leorio, snuggling into his chest and finding comfort in his embrace. As they cuddled together, the two of them drifted off into a peaceful sleep, feeling safe and secure in each other's arms.

The next two weeks had flown by rapidly, and the day had come for another movie night. Leorio had finally found a break from the flurry of activity at the hospital, and he was ready to unwind with a fun movie night with Kurapika.

Kurapika looked at Leorio with a sly grin, knowing that his boyfriend had been handling stress better lately. He said excitedly, "Hey Leorio, I've got a great movie picked out for us this time! You're going to absolutely love it!"

By the time they arrived at the theater, it was already well into the evening. Leorio was brimming with anticipation for the movie, his excitement clear on his face.

Leorio and Kurapika had not been to the movies since that day two weeks ago, so it was a given that new movies would have been released. However, Leorio was not prepared for the unexpected choice of

film his partner had made this time.
As they entered the theater, Leorio noticed that the movie listed on the schedule was a horror film, and a shiver of dread ran down his spine. Despite his usual dislike for horror movies, he hoped that perhaps Kurapika wouldn't have picked any of the scary movies.

unfortunately it was indeed a horror movie, the latest installment in the terrifying Saw franchise. Time flew by and before they knew it, the movie was over. Leorio was left petrified, his heart pounding from fright as he let out a panicked shout in the parking lot. "KURAPIKA!" he cried out, racing after his boyfriend towards their car.

Leorio was shaking with fear and anger as they reached their car. "Kurapika, my love," he exclaimed, his voice filled with frustration. "Why did you bring me to watch SAW?! SAW X, of all things!!" His cheeks were flushed with anger and his body trembled with fear.

Leorio continued his outburst, ranting about the horror and terror he had just endured in the movie. As they both got into the car, Kurapika couldn't help but roll his eyes and let out a sly, almost devilish smile. His plan had worked perfectly, although he had to admit he loved seeing Leorio all riled up.

Kurapika's face was practically sparkling with excitement as he spoke, "Oh, come on, Leorio!" He explained, "There's a new Saw movie out, and when we went to see the My Little Pony movie last time, I saw the new Saw movie's poster!"

Kurapika knew that horror movies weren't Leorio's favorite, but he couldn't help but be drawn to the Saw series, and this latest installment was too enticing to pass up.

Kurapika continued defending his choice to watch the Saw movie, looking at Leorio with a hopeful expression. "I just had to see what happened in it," he explained, "You know I'm a big fan of the series. Plus, wasn't there a cute and wholesome scene at the end?"

Kurapika knew that adding that tidbit at the end might soften the blow for his boyfriend, hoping it would soothe his anger slightly.

Leorio's expression changed to one of skepticism and confusion as he pondered what could possibly be considered cute and wholesome in a series as dark and horrifying as Saw. He looked at Kurapika with a raised eyebrow, his doubt evident on his face.

"Wait, wait, wait," Leorio interjected, clearly still unconvinced by Kurapika's description of the cute and wholesome moment.

"You mean the part where that John guy, or whatever his name is, tried to save some kid from being suffocated in blood?" Leorio raised his eyebrow but then quickly remembered he needed to focus on driving and refocused his attention on the road.

Kurapika burst out laughing, his cheerful giggles filling the car. Leorio knew at that moment that he couldn't trust Kurapika's movie recommendations ever again, especially with his penchant for horrors. Nevertheless, he secretly appreciated his boyfriend's mischievous streak and found his laughter infectious.

As Kurapika's laughter faded, Leorio, pretending to be annoyed, couldn't help but let out a small chuckle in response. He shot Kurapika a fond smile before focusing his attention back on the road.

"Alright, alright," he said good naturedly, "I'm never letting you pick the movie again."

Kurapika, still grinning, playfully retorted, "Oh, come on, you should trust my taste. It's not my fault you can't handle a little bit of fear."

"Yeah, fear that feels like it's gonna give me heart failure," Leorio grumbled, but there was no real irritation in his voice. He glanced over at his boyfriend, who seemed completely unremorseful about the scary movie they just watched.

Leorio shook his head in mock annoyance, secretly finding Kurapika's unapologetic demeanor endearing.

"You know, you could have warned me it was gonna be a horror movie," Leorio continued, his tone becoming more lighthearted. Kurapika simply smirked, "But where's the fun in that? I wanted to see the look on your face when you were screaming."

Leorio tried to maintain a grumpy expression but couldn't hold it for long. He shot a playful glare at Kurapika, who was still smugly grinning.

"You're terrible, you know that?" he said, but the warmth in his voice gave him away. Kurapika just chuckled, "Well, you love me anyway."
Leorio sighed dramatically, "Yeah, guess I do."

They shared a smile, the tension of the movie fading away as their love shined through. As they drove home together, Leorio decided he could forgive Kurapika for the unexpected scare.
