It was a sweltering summer day, and Leorio and Kurapika were relaxing at their lovely home on the outskirts of Yorknew city. The cozy abode was perfect for their small, intimate lives together. As the sun beamed through their living room window, it cast a radiant glow across the room, making the entire space feel warm and welcoming.
Despite the heat, the couple found comfort in each other's company, spending their days together exploring the city or lounging around their home, enjoying the quieter moments of their life.
Leorio and Kurapika had a beautiful backyard with a large garden, where they spent many mornings tending to their plants and flowers. In addition to the garden, their home also had a spacious attic, big enough to accommodate both Killua and Gon when they came for their frequent visits.
The attic had all the necessary comforts and became a favorite hangout spot for the boys, who would spend hours playing games and talking late into the night.
Leorio and Kurapika led busy lives, with Leorio working long hours as a doctor and Kurapika often focusing on his own work as well. Despite their demanding schedules, they made a conscious effort to spend as much time together as possible.
When they weren't working, they would spend their days together, enjoying their shared moments of relaxation and intimacy. Whether they were exploring the city, cooking meals in their home, or simply sitting on their back porch and watching the sunset, they relished each second they had together.
Such as today, Leorio and Kurapika were enjoying a well deserved day off, simply lounging together on the comfortable couch in their cozy living room. The sound of the air conditioning hummed softly in the background, creating a soothing ambiance as they soaked in each other's presence.
Kurapika was idly looking through his Beetle phone, absently liking random social media posts while he rested his legs on Leorio's lap.
Leorio was content just watching Kurapika, occasionally reaching out to run his hand along Kurapika's calves in a gesture of affection. Despite the mundane activity, there was a certain comfort in the simplicity of the moment.
Leorio was quietly engrossed in studying a medical book, his focus solely on the pages in front of him. Despite the distraction of Kurapika's feet in his lap and Kurapika's own casual scrolling on his phone, Leorio was diligently reading, his mind absorbing the information in the book.
Every now and then, he would stop reading to stroke Kurapika's legs, a sign of his subconscious affection for the man he loved.
Kurapika extended his body over the couch and let out a weary sigh, complaining about the stifling heat. "Leorio, it's so hot, I'm sweating like crazy!" Leorio turned his gaze to Kurapika, a small smile on his face as he observed his partner's discomfort.
Kurapika's bangs were clinging to his forehead, dampened by beads of sweat that had gathered on his skin. The heat had caused his usually clean styled hair to become disheveled, making him look a little less put together than usual.
Kurapika rose from the couch and declared, "I think I'm going to take a shower or something, I feel sticky and gross."
Leorio, so absorbed in his studying, barely registered Kurapika's words. He nodded his head absently, his focus firmly fixed on the book in front of him. Kurapika couldn't help but chuckle at how immersed Leorio was in his studies. Shrugging, he headed off to the bathroom.
Kurapika entered the bathroom and grabbed a fluffy towel from one of the racks. He placed his hair care products and body wash on the edge of the bathtub, preparing for a refreshing shower.
The cool tiles of the bathroom provided a small relief from the heat, and Kurapika couldn't wait to feel the cold water cascading over his heated skin.
Kurapika turned the shower faucet to its coldest setting, wincing a little at the initial chill of the water. He closed his eyes and let the cold water run over his body as he began to wash himself with his pomegranate body wash.
As he bathed, Kurapika's mind wandered to pleasant memories of his time with Leorio. He thought about their lazy mornings spent together, their adventures exploring the city, and their quiet nights in each other's arms.
After spending around ten minutes in the shower pampering himself, Kurapika felt much more refreshed and less affected by the heat.
The cool water had soothed his skin and washed away the sweat that had built up over the day. The smell of pomegranate body wash lingered in the air, adding a fruity, invigorating scent to the bathroom.
Kurapika stepped out of the shower, his body now clean and refreshed. He grabbed the towel he had placed on the edge of the bathtub and began drying himself off, taking care to towel off his hair thoroughly.
Once he was sufficiently dry, he put on a fresh set of clothing, feeling more comfortable and ready to face the day.
As Kurapika was putting his clothes on, his mind began to wander to thoughts of activities he could do with Leorio for the rest of the day. Glancing at the clock and noticing it was around lunch time, Kurapika decided that going out somewhere could be a nice way to spend the afternoon with his lover.
As Kurapika exited the bathroom, his thoughts were still on Leorio and the idea of going out together. However, he remembered how focused Leorio had been on his studies earlier, and Kurapika silently wondered if Leorio would even be available for a day out.
Kurapika descended the stairs and entered the living room, his eyes immediately falling on Leorio, who was now sitting on the couch watching the television instead of reading his book.
A hint of disappointment washed over Kurapika's face, as he had hoped to spend the day with Leorio but feared that his boyfriend would be too engrossed in whatever he was doing for the rest of the day.
Kurapika observed Leorio for a moment, taking in his long, muscular frame and the way his eyes fixed intently on the comedy show playing on the television. It was one of Leorio's favorites after all, and Kurapika knew that his boyfriend always paid close attention to the laughs and jokes on the screen. The sight of Leorio, so immersed in a show that brought him joy, couldn't help but make Kurapika smile fondly.
Kurapika approached Leorio and took a seat next to him on the couch. "Hey," he began, his gaze on his boyfriend, "Do you want to do something today if you're not too busy?"
Leorio looked up at Kurapika, a warm smile spreading across his face. "Of course, Kurapika!" he replied, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "I'd love to spend the day with you."
Leorio moved closer to Kurapika and enveloped him in a warm embrace, a bit apologetically. "Sorry if it seemed like I was ignoring you earlier," he muttered, wrapping his strong arms around the shorter man.
Kurapika sighed, still feeling a pang of loneliness that had taken hold of him before his shower. He knew Leorio had been focused on his studies, but a small part of him had craved attention and connection.
Kurapika reassured Leorio with a gentle squeeze, "It's alright, Leorio. I know you were just busy studying for work." Leorio nodded, "Yeah, that book was long but I finally finished it. I actually learned a lot," he said with a hint of pride. "My boss told me all the workers at the hospital had to read it too," he continued speaking.
Kurapika returned the hug, hugging Leorio tighter, "It's okay, Leorio. At least we have the rest of the day together."
Leorio paused for a moment, mulling over a thought. Then he looked down at Kurapika and broke into a happy smile. "You know what, we can go on a date," he suggested, his eyes glimmering with excitement at the prospect of spending quality time with his boyfriend.
Kurapika's lips curved up into a warm smile, agreeing with Leorio's suggestion.
"Yeah, you're right," he said, realizing how long it had been since they had last had a proper date. "I think it's been a while since we went out together. Let's do it!"
Kurapika gave Leorio a quick peck on the lips and then grasped his hands, their fingers intertwining. "You're right," he noted, "We need to figure out where to go or what to do for our date."
The two fell into a thoughtful silence as they pondered over their options, their minds racing with different possibilities.
Leorio suggested a movie, but Kurapika quickly dismissed the idea, "We've just been to the movies a few weeks ago, and to be honest, there's nothing showing that I really feel like watching," he replied, shrugging his shoulders as he continued to rack his brain for other ideas.
Kurapika's mind flashed with recollection. A few days ago, while sorting through the mail, he had noticed a pamphlet advertising a limited time drink promotion at McDonald's. A smile tugged at his lips, realizing that this could be the perfect destination for their date.
Kurapika suddenly recalled the existence of a new drink at McDonald's, and he mentioned it to Leorio. But as the words left his lips, a hint of doubt crept in. Going to McDonald's for a date suddenly seemed like a foolish idea.
"Actually," he began, his voice laced with a bit of uncertainty, "There's this new drink at McDonald's. We could go and try it out, but... going there for a date sounds kind of silly, doesn't it?"
Leorio's eyes went wide on hearing Kurapika mention the Grimace shake. "You mean the Grimace shake?" he exclaimed. Kurapika's eyes widened in return, "Oh yeah, that's right! But what's a Grimace?"
Leorio quickly launched into a detailed explanation of the origin and history of the purple McDonald's mascot, sharing with Kurapika the lore behind the iconic character.
Leorio continued, "Yeah, he's a popular mascot for McDonald's. Ronald McDonald is the face of the company, and Grimace is one of his closest companions. He's actually this big, purple guy."
Kurapika nodded, absorbing the new information about the fast-food chain's iconic characters, while silently wondering what this Grimace shake he mentioned was all about.
Leorio let out a sigh, reminiscing about his commitment to a healthy lifestyle as a doctor. "You know, I heard this new shake is being released to celebrate Grimace's birthday," he explained. "As a doctor, I typically try not to indulge in fast food anymore."
Leorio's expression shifted from concern to consideration as he looked up at Kurapika. "You know what, one meal won't cause any real harm, and what's the worst that could happen?"
Kurapika nodded, matching Leorio's optimistic sentiment. "Exactly," he concurred, "Having one meal shouldn't be a problem. Plus, it's just a shake, and it's not like anything significant could go wrong over a shake, right?"

Kurapika had already prepared himself for their outing earlier and was now sitting on their bed, tapping his fingers against the soft fabric impatiently. Meanwhile, Leorio had headed to the shower to freshen up a bit, as he had worked up a slight sweat.
As Kurapika waited, he heard the sound of running water from the bathroom, signaling that Leorio was still in the shower. He let out a soft sigh, the wait testing his patience.
Kurapika, growing bored while he waited for Leorio to finish his shower, reached for his beetle phone and decided to make a quick social media update. With nimble fingers, he navigated through his account, selecting his most popular platform.
As the screen lit up, Kurapika began to compose a brief message, keeping it casual and lighthearted to share with his followers.
Kurapika finished preparing his quick update, deciding on a nice picture of his outfit. He captioned the photo, Excited for our McDonald's outing and can't wait to try the Grimace shake with Leorio!
He hit the send button, sharing the picture and the update with his followers, looking forward to the upcoming experience and their special date.
As Kurapika's update hit the social media platform, several comments from friends began to appear. They expressed their excitement for his upcoming outing with Leorio and the Grimace shake, wishing him a fun time together.
Kurapika glanced at the comments, some containing playful emojis or heartfelt good wishes. He smiled, feeling a sense of connection with his friends as he waited patiently for Leorio to finish his shower.
Kurapika was deep into reading the comments on his recent update when he suddenly felt Leorio's body press against him. Startled, Kurapika let out a surprised gasp, "Ah! Leorio? Don't scare me like that again!"
Leorio just chuckled in response, finding Kurapika's reaction amusing. He wrapped his arms around Kurapika, pulling him closer and peppering his neck with affectionate kisses.
Leorio was in nothing but pants, his bare chest glimmering with water from the shower. He looked at Kurapika with a smirk and explained, "Look, I know it's just McDonald's, but I want to dress up and be fancy!" With that, he proceeded to put on his suit and tie, looking sharp and suave in his formal attire.
Kurapika, amused by Leorio's enthusiasm in dressing up for their simple outing, chuckled and shook his head slightly, finding his boyfriend's antics endearing.
Kurapika, his own eagerness growing to embark on their outing, asked Leorio, "Are you all set? I'm pretty hungry, you know." Leorio just nodded in response, grabbing his briefcase like bag and replied enthusiastically, "Yep! Let's go, sunshine!"
Kurapika couldn't help but smile at Leorio's endearing nickname for him, their anticipation building for the simple but special moment of trying out the Grimace shake together.
Leorio and Kurapika stepped outside of their cozy abode, ready to embark on their adventure. Hand in hand, they began walking towards the local McDonald's, their steps imbued with a relaxed yet excited rhythm.
The cool air gently caressed their faces as they made their way towards the fast food restaurant, chatting effortlessly about the simple things in life and the anticipation of the Grimace shake.
The walk was even more delightful as Leorio and Kurapika casually strolled along the sidewalk, enjoying the shade cast by the trees above them. The occasional cool gust of wind would gently ruffle their hair, making their journey to McDonald's a truly pleasant experience.
The couple continued to chat about mundane topics, the simple act of walking side by side enhancing their connection.
As Leorio and Kurapika continued their walk through the city, they suddenly spotted two of their closest friends up ahead, Mereum and Komugi! They were pleasantly surprised to see them and quickly approached the pair, waving and calling out greetings.
"Hey, Mereum and Komugi!" Kurapika called out, his voice filled with cheerful surprise. "What a pleasant surprise to run into you here!"
Leorio and Kurapika had known Mereum and Komugi for some time now. Komugi had crossed paths with Leorio at his workplace on a few occasions, whereas Kurapika had gotten acquainted with Mereum through social media. So, it came as no surprise to the couple when they discovered that Mereum and Komugi were in a romantic relationship.
Mereum, standing with Komugi on his arm, greeted the approaching duo warmly. "Hey, Leorio and Kurapika!" Mereum's voice carried a friendly tone, while Komugi's head perked up at the familiar sound of their voices.
Despite being unable to see, Komugi's right hand held onto a walking stick, guiding her path. She smiled softly in their direction, having memorized their voices and personalities over time.
Komugi's voice carried a soft surprise as she realized that Leorio and Kurapika were there with them now. "Oh, are Leorio and Kurapika here?" she repeated, her tone warm and inviting.
Leorio greeted the pair with a friendly tone, "Hey, you guys!" He then noticed something Mereum was holding and exclaimed, "Hey, you guys got the Grimace shake!"
Mereum responded to Leorio's observation with a smile, "That's right. I saw Kurapika's social media update, and I told Komugi about it. She got really excited," he explained, his tone affectionate as he glanced at Komugi, who stood beside him with a joyful smile on her face.
Komugi spoke up, her tone filled with satisfaction, "Mhm, it's really good! I finished mine already," she chuckled a bit. Meanwhile, Mereum took another sip of his drink, which was almost empty, and added, "I've nearly finished mine as well. It's quite tasty!"
"Indeed," Leorio chimed in with a smile, "Today is Grimace's birthday! Happy birthday to him!"
Komugi seemed to light up even more with Leorio's words. Her voice filled with excitement and cheerful energy, she exclaimed, "Yes, yes! Happy birthday to Mr. Grimace!"
Mereum turned to Leorio and Kurapika, genuinely interested in how they'd been. He asked, "How have you two been? It's been a while since we last saw you."
Leorio let out a sigh, looking a bit tired as he replied, "Yeah, it has been a while. I've been so swamped with work lately, but I'm off today, lucky me!"
They all sat down on a nearby bench, the four of them engaging in conversation, catching up on each other's lives. Kurapika smiled happily, taking pleasure in listening to their light banter and laughter. He felt incredibly fortunate to have such wonderful friends and a supportive boyfriend by his side.
Komugi interjected after a few moments of conversation, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. "We should hang out more often!" she suggested, and then added, "Would you like to come over to our place after your McDonald's date?"
Both Leorio and Kurapika smiled and nodded in agreement, Leorio's hand intertwining with Kurapika's as they stood up. "Yeah, sure thing!" Leorio replied. "Sounds like a lot of fun," Kurapika chimed in, his eagerness evident.
After exchanging affectionate farewells, Leorio and Kurapika continued on their way to McDonald's once more, excited about the promise of a second get together with Mereum and Komugi later. They were eager to savor their Grimace shake and a quick meal at the fast food restaurant before heading to the couple's house for more fun and quality time with the four of them.
After a few more minutes of walking, Leorio and Kurapika spotted the recognizable golden arches of the McDonald's ahead. Their steps quickened in anticipation as the fast food restaurant drew closer. The smell of fries and the sight of the iconic menu signs signaled they were almost there.
Leorio's eyes widened in surprise as he recognized the young person behind the counter. "Killua?" he exclaimed, his voice filled with a mixture of shock and confusion.
The white haired kid behind the counter, Killua, offered a polite smile. "Hello, how can I take your order today?" he asked, seemingly unfazed by Leorio's reaction.
Kurapika's shock was shared by Leorio, who also chimed in. "What the heck? When did you start working here?" Leorio inquired, his voice filled with surprise. Kurapika added to Leorio's question, "And what about Gon? Where is he?"
Killua responded to their questions, his tone casual. "No need to ask questions," he said, "I just need some money for more chocolate." Leorio couldn't help but roll his eyes at the teenager's statement.
Killua then repeated his earlier question with a hint of forced cheerfulness. "Now, how can I take your order?"
"We'll have two grimace shakes! And um, what do you want to eat Kurapika?" Leorio looked over at Kurapika, who was studying the menu. "What do you want to eat?" Leorio inquired politely. "I'll take a regular cheeseburger and some chicken McNuggets," Kurapika replied with a thoughtful look, making his selection from the menu.
Leorio continued, "I'll have a Big Mac with extra cheese, but hold the pickles, please!" Killua rolled his eyes at Leorio's order but nodded nonetheless. "Alright, and is that all?" he asked. Leorio smiled happily, confirming, "Yep, that's all!"
After placing their order and paying, Leorio and Kurapika began searching for a suitable table to enjoy their meal at. They soon found an available table and settled into their seats, ready to dig into their recently purchased Grimace shakes and quick meal.
Kurapika's mind couldn't help but notice something unusual. With a puzzled expression, he thought to himself, Why is there no one else here? He brushed off the strange feeling, focusing on his partner instead. Turning to Leorio, he planted a quick and affectionate kiss on his lips.
Leorio and Kurapika remained hand in hand as they sat across from each other. Their stomachs growled with anticipation, eager for the food and beverages they had just ordered. Kurapika glanced around the restaurant once more, taking in the empty surroundings, a sense of unease still lingering in the back of his mind.
Leorio couldn't help but smile as he watched Kurapika's face flush with a mix of embarrassment and affection. With a sly smirk, he teased, "This date is going to be beautiful, but it'll be even more so because you're here, sunshine."
Kurapika playfully spoke back to him, his cheeks growing even pink. "Leorio, stop being so sappy!" he protested, though his flustered expression betrayed his true feelings.
After a few minutes, a short green haired boy approached their table, tray in hand. The kid, whom they recognized as Gon, spoke up cheerfully, "Here are your orders, Mister Leorio and Mister Kurapika!"
Kurapika's eyebrows shot up in surprise, and he exchanged a bewildered glance with Leorio. "Gon?" he repeated, his gaze shifting between Leorio and the boy standing before them.
Gon responded with his usual cheerful demeanor, "Yes, Kurapika?"
Leorio recovered from his initial shock and spoke up, "Hey, Gon! Why are you working here? Is it for chocolate too?" Leorio's tone was tinged with disbelief, the sight of his friend's younger companion in a McDonald's uniform taking him by surprise.
Gon chuckled sheepishly and replied, "Actually, Killua just suggested I work with him! I think it's a pretty good idea though, that way I can keep him from getting mad at the customers." Gon's laughter filled the air, his sheepish demeanor belying his sincere intentions.
Gon placed their orders on the table with a smile. "Here are your orders! Enjoy!" he said before walking away. Leorio and Kurapika looked down at the food and drinks before them, still in a state of surprise at the unexpected sight of Gon working at the McDonald's.
They each took a sip of their Grimace shakes, the purple drink pleasantly cool and refreshing. Kurapika's eyes widened in surprise, and he commented, "Hey, Leorio, this is actually pretty good!" Leorio agreed heartily, nodding his head. "Yeah, it's delicious! It feels like there's confetti in my stomach, haha!" He chuckled, enjoying the unexpected flavors of the limited edition beverage.
Kurapika whipped out his Beetle phone, suggesting something to Leorio, "Let's take a picture for social media!"
Leorio chuckled and positioned himself beside Kurapika. Together, they posed adorably with their Grimace shakes, capturing a cute selfie on Kurapika's Beetle phone.
After Kurapika snapped the picture, he immediately uploaded it to his social media account. He typed out the caption, Happy Birthday Grimace! and hit the share button.
Leorio chuckled as he watched Kurapika's joyous expression, a laugh escaping the normally reserved blonde. It was a pleasant sight to see
Kurapika so cheerful.
Leorio gazed at Kurapika, eyes filled with affection, and spoke fondly, "I'm so happy to be here with you, Kurapika." Kurapika smiled back, equally content.
"Me too, Leorio," Kurapika replied warmly. "How about we eat?" Kurapika suggested. Leorio nodded in agreement, their moment of affection quickly replaced by hunger for the food before them.
Leorio dug into his Big Mac, eager to devour the burger. However, as soon as he took a bite, his expression twisted into one of distaste. "Hey Kurapika!" he exclaimed, "They put pickles on my burger!"
Clearly displeased by the addition of pickles, Leorio carefully picked them off his burger, muttering under his breath about the importance of remembering special requests.
Leorio continued to grumble, expressing his frustration. "I told them no pickles!" he complained.
Kurapika took a closer look at the burger and confirmed Leorio's complaint. "You're right," Kurapika agreed. "I'll go talk to the cooks about this." He stood up, ready to confront the kitchen staff about the mistake.
Kurapika swiftly rose from his seat, eager to address the issue. Leorio's mild protest fell on deaf ears as Kurapika made his way to the front cashier, which happened to be Killua still.
"Hey!" Kurapika raised his voice, "He asked for no pickles!" His stern expression mirrored his irritation over the cooking mishap.
Killua couldn't help but roll his eyes in response, his patience already running thin. "Kurapika, they're pickles," he retorted dismissively. "He's a grown man! Just tell him to get over it!"
Before Kurapika could counter, Gon popped up, his cheerful demeanor at odds with the growing tension between the two.
"Killua, we talked about this!" insisted Gon, his voice firm but kind. "The customer is always right, well maybe not always, but let's just have the cooks remake Leorio's burger with no pickles since he very clearly asked for none."
Killua couldn't help but nod at Gon's wise words, his usual sarcastic demeanor going away to a moment of agreement.
Gon beamed at Killua's admission, his cheerful enthusiasm earning him an acknowledging nod.
"You're right, Gon," Killua agreed, his sharp features softening momentarily. Turning back to Kurapika, he addressed him with, "Alright, we'll have your burgers ready soon, just hold tight." Kurapika smiled appreciatively, the situation smoothly resolved thanks to Gon's intervention.
Kurapika offered Gon a heartfelt thank you and returned to his table, a sense of relief washing over him. He slid back into his seat across from Leorio, who sat pouting, still displeased by the unwanted pickle incident.
Leorio gazed at Kurapika, a hint of gratitude in his eyes. "You didn't have to do that for me, sunshine," he mumbled, his voice gentle.
Kurapika shrugged it off with a smile. "It's no big deal, Leorio," he assured his boyfriend. "You know I would do anything for you!" Kurapika's affectionate words warmed Leorio's heart, his pouting expression slowly fading away.
Just as they were about to continue their conversation, Gon sprinted over to their table, carrying freshly prepared hamburgers.
"Here you go!" he announced, placing the burgers down. "And so sorry, Leorio! I promise we'll do better to get all orders correct from here on now!" Gon's cheerful demeanor and hasty apology made it difficult for Leorio to stay upset.
With the crisis averted, Gon scurried back into the kitchen, leaving Kurapika and Leorio once again alone to enjoy their burgers and each other's company.
A sense of contentment settled over them, the earlier tension now a distant memory.

Following a quiet, content meal together, Leorio and Kurapika left the McDonald's, hands linked together. They each held remnants of their Grimace shakes, the purple drink slowly going down into their happy bellies.
As they strolled hand in hand towards Mereum and Komugi's house, Leorio and Kurapika continued to savor the last bits of their Grimace shakes, their tongues relishing the sweetness of the purple dyed beverage.
As Leorio and Kurapika walked down the lovely sidewalks of the town, they took in the sites and sounds around them. A crisp, pleasant breeze blew through the air, the scent of wildflowers
filling their nose.
After approximately half an hour, they finally arrived at Mereum and Komugi's house. The home before them was absolutely beautiful, its charming wooden facade contrasted by a colorful garden in the front. Various roses and daisies bloomed amidst the greenery, their bright colors filling the space with life.
They approached the front porch of Mereum and Komugi's house, their Grimace shakes now nearing their end, the ice slowly melting due to the relentless summer heat and their extended walking through Yorknew City.
Kurapika let out a sigh of satisfaction and tossed the remainder of his Grimace shake into the garbage can conveniently placed at the side of the house. The satisfying sound of the cup falling into the bin echoed through the air.
Leorio knocked on the front door, the soft claps of his knuckles against the wood echoing through the open air. Kurapika returned to Leorio's side, his Grimace shake cup discarded in the bin, "Want me to throw yours away for you?"
Leorio, still holding onto his own cup, replied to the blonde's offer, "No, thanks! I'll just have the rest," before adding, "But I've been knocking, and no one is answering." Leorio continued knocking on the door, the sound growing increasingly urgent with each tap.
Meanwhile, Kurapika turned his attention to trying the doorbell, pressing the button and hearing its chime fill the air. However, just as with the knocking, there was no response.
As the time passed, their initial worry started to grow into concern, puzzled by the lack of any response to their attempts to get Komugi and Mereums attentions.
Leorio scratched his head, considering the possibilities of why there is no answer. "Maybe they're not home," he thought aloud, but quickly dismissed the idea, "that can't be, I can see their living room light is on!"
Kurapika exhaled, attempting to reassure his partner. "It could just mean they left it on and went to lay down or something," he suggested, a hint of uncertainty in his tone. Leorio expressed his unease once more, his head firmly shaking back and forth. "You don't understand, Kurapika!" he asserted, "I'm having this really bad feeling about this! "
The doctor's growing anxiety was evident, the feeling of dread seeping through his usually optimistic and carefree demeanor.
As Leorio reached towards the doorknob and began to gently turn it, Kurapika protested, "Leorio! Why are you opening their door? That's an invasion of privacy and breaking and entering!"
Ignoring Kurapika's warnings, Leorio continued to slowly push the door open, allowing only a small gap initially, just large enough to peek inside.
Leorio was conscious of his actions, aware of the breach of trust that came with entering someone's home without permission. However, the thought of Komugi's excitement for visitors and their own prior agreement to visit stirred a sense of urgency within him.
"I know this isn't right, but I just can't shake this feeling," Leorio murmured quietly. "Something's not right. They can't have forgotten about us, especially Komugi."
As the door slowly opened wider, a scene of horror met Leorio and Kurapika's gaze. Shock and disbelief washed over their faces in an instant, making them momentarily speechless as they struggled to comprehend what they were witnessing.
Lying motionless on the floor of the couple's entryway were the lifeless bodies of Mereum and Komugi. The sight was gruesome and horrifying, the bodies still and unresponsive.
As Leorio and Kurapika took in the sight of Mereum and Komugi, they noted the pale complexion of the two bodies. However, there was an absence of any blood on the floor or any apparent signs of wounds on their bodies.
The absence of visible injuries or blood only heightened the mystery surrounding their deaths, leaving Leorio and Kurapika even more confused.
Upon closer inspection, Leorio and Kurapika discovered something odd, a sticky, purple substance spread across Mereum and Komugi's faces and bodies, even splattered on the floor around them. The vivid and unusual color of the unknown substance only added to the growing confusion.
Leorio's cry of terror echoed in the room, his voice cracking with fear and anguish. Kurapika, standing nearby, struggled to make sense of the situation.
"What's going on! What happened to them?!" Kurapika shouted, his voice filled with a mix of horror and confusion. As he approached the lifeless bodies, his eyes caught sight of something in Komugi's clutching hand.
His eyes widening as realization dawned on him, Kurapika turned to face Leorio, who was still clinging to the cup of Grimace shake.
"Leorio... The Grimace shake!" Kurapika exclaimed. "It's on their faces, their hands, it's all over the floor!"
"And..." Kurapika's voice trembled as he noticed something else. "Komugi, She's holding an empty Grimace shake cup!" The cup clutched in Komugi's hand sent chills down Kurapika's spine, the sight of it adding a new layer of terror to the already horrifying scene in front of them.
The evidence laid out before them was too obvious, the connection too strong to ignore. There was no way it could be a mere coincidence.
"It couldn't be..." Leorio murmured through his clenched jaw. "They were fine on the way home, so how and why did this happen?" The questions weighed heavily on both their minds, the uncertainty and fear gripping tighter with each passing moment.
Leorio's heart pounded in his chest as Kurapika approached his side, a chill running down his spine as the words hit him. "Leorio," Kurapika repeated urgently, "I think the shake did something bad to them!"
Leorio's eyes widened in horror, the cup in his hand falling from his grasp and smashing against the hardwood floor. The remaining liquid spilled out, pooling onto the wood in a sticky purple mess, as Leorio's tears began to stream down his face.
Kurapika's voice shook as he spoke, his hand holding onto his stomach as he felt a sudden wave of nausea wash over him. "Leorio I don't feel so good," he managed to say before his body suddenly went weak. He collapsed to the floor, his body now lying next to the two lifeless figures before them.
Leorio, paralyzed by the sudden turn of events, managed to find himself and quickly knelt down by Kurapika's side, his heart racing with fear and disbelief.
"Kurapika," he gasped, his voice choked with worry. "No, no, no. This can't be happening. Wake up, please!"
As Kurapika's vision came into focus, the gravity of the situation hit him like a ton of bricks. He had been through so much, seen so many horrors, survived against all odds. But this, this was different.
His eyes widened as the realization struck him brutally, those Grimace shakes had been poisoned, and both him and leorio had consumed them all.
Leorio's voice filled the room, his plea desperate and filled with panic. "Kurapika, please!" His body trembled as he stumbled and collapsed onto the floor, a low grunt escaping his lips as the sickness began to overtake him. He locked eyes with Kurapika, the fear evident in his gaze as he lay beside the blonde man.
Kurapika's once bright eyes now stared lifelessly at the ceiling, his body still and motionless. Leorio's scream echoed through the room, a desperate cry of disbelief and despair, but it was too late.
As the horrors of death began to claim Leorio, his last thought was a shocked realization, Kurapika was gone, and he was soon to follow.
The once room full of lively people now lay still, the silence taking over as the group now lay motionless on the floor, their bodies a grim reminder of the tragedy that had unfolded. Their faces and bodies were splattered in the purple substance, the evidence of the Grimace shake's sinister presence.
An evil laugh filled the room, the sound chilling and sinister, as a towering purple figure entered the room. Grimace, the culprit behind the horrifying scene, looked over the lifeless bodies, a twisted smirk on his face.
With a smug grin, the purple monster reached behind his back and pulled the zipper of the mascot costume, the sound a stark contrast to the quiet room. Slowly, he removed the head of the costume, revealing his own face as the mascot body collapsed to the floor.
"Surprise," Chrollo said, his smirk growing wider.
Chrollo walked towards the lifeless bodies, his smirk growing wider with every step. A sense of dark satisfaction washed over him as he took in the sight before him. "Finally, after all these years," he cackled. "I can finally complete my collection!"
Turning around, Chrollo cast a glance at his partner in crime, a sly smile on his face as he acknowledged their part in the sinister plot. "And all thanks to you!" he exclaimed, his voice laced with an undeniable hint of satisfaction.
From within the shadows, the identity of Chrollo's accomplice became clear as they stepped into the light.
As the clownish figure emerged from the shadows, the realization hit like a ton of bricks, no it wasn't Hisoka, but Ronald McDonald himself.
The infamous mascot of McDonald's, long associated with the joyful meals and happy commercials, now stood before Chrollo, a sinister grin plastered on its face.
Ronald McDonald and Chrollo cackled together, the sound of their sinister laughter filling the air. Their grand plan unfolded as they discussed spreading the Grimace shake, poisoned and deadly, across the globe.
