♟Chapter 30♟
X A N T H O S
I smashed the table beside me causing it to shatter in pieces.
The physical pain was nothing compared to the pain I was feeling right now. The pain of losing her again. It hurts to know I couldn't protect her well.
She was taken away from me just under my nose. I wasn't a good mate like the deserved to have.
Luciano and Vlaxin stayed quite which further aggravated me.
'Tell me something, you fuckers!' I shouted in my mind before breaking the glass window with my fist.
'What do you want us to tell you?' Luciano asked with a hint of anger in his voice. Vlaxin reminded silent but I could feel his anger and sadness.
'Will our mate be okay?'
'How would I know, arse? Am I psyche or something?' He yelled.
The door of my room creaked open and I saw Mason walking towards me.
"Calm down, Alpha Xanthos. The entire pack link is getting heated up by their stupid discussion as to why the shattering noises are coming. Please do it for the sake of Bella and think calmly. Think about the next move to reach her." Mason had a pleading look in his eyes.
I ran my hand through my hair and looked at myself on a broken mirror.
I need my mate in my arms and have her scent wrapped around me.
I closed my eyes shut and tried to mind-link with Bella again.
The barriers in the underworld are quite strong and can't be broken easily. Bella was a human too because of which it was more difficult to communicate with her.
I shook my head and opened my eyes.
"Alpha Xanthos--"
"Stop calling me Alpha, Mason."
I wasn't worthy to be called an Alpha when I slipped my Luna in someone else's hands.
His eyes widened before it came back to his original size.
"Alpha," he emphasised. I didn't mind him defying my orders right now as the only thought in my mind was my mate. "She's with Anna. You do remember her, right? The small half-witch blooded girl." I nodded my head.
I did remember Annalisa by her seven-year-old physique as I last saw her when she was small. She was the only creature who gave respect to humans even though she knew what they actually were in the eyes of supernatural beings.
She and Amanda were pretty much close with each other. So, I tried to convince myself and my inner beasts that Anna wouldn't let anything happen to Bella.
"Alpha," a familiar female voice reached my ears.
I twirled my heart towards the direction and saw Kathy who was sluggishly moving towards me.
"What do you want?" Luciano almost came to the surface as soon as he noticed her presence and wanted to smack her head against the wall of this now shattered room.
"What's going on?" She asked with a happy look on her face as she stared around the room.
"None of your business--" Mason got cut off by another screeching voice.
"Alpha," Natasha and Edrala entered the room. "Did you find where's Bella?" Natasha fiddled with the hem of her shirt and had worry written on her face.
My heart pained when her name passed from my ear.
Would she be fine?
'Of course not!' Luciano whined in my mind.
"Underworld," I whispered.
"Underworld?!" Kathy screeched. "Does it even exist?" She grinned.
"Dammit! Could you keep your rubber mouth shut? Stop screeching like a Cat, Kathy." Natasha huffed.
I didn't bother to see Kathy's expression.
All stood in silence with me lost in my own thoughts.
How could I lose her? I should have been with her. I shouldn't have left her alone.
"Why can't we go to the underworld. Even if she's with the half-blooded witch, she could still get in trouble as she is a human."
My head snapped towards the person who suggested that idea and saw Edrala standing there with a grim look.
"No!" Natasha immediately yelled. "I-I mean we can, but then...how would we go? I have heard there are many monster looking creatures who would eat anyone raw." She stuttered.
Mason raised an eyebrow. "From where did you hear? I have never heard anyone talking about underworld till this day."
"Umm, my granny told many things about it." Natasha smoothened her hair.
"I wanna see wonderla, wonderla, wonderlala!" Kathy squealed excitedly.
I didn't dwell on about her sudden change of behaviour.
All looked at her with annoyance written on their faces whereas I was contemplating the idea of going to the underworld. The world of power and greed.
The place where all the creatures fight for gaining their desire. The place which was once merged along with the human's world. The place where I met my mate and died along with my mate.
Adding to that is the supernatural union.
I sighed.
They'll use Bella against me if I don't get her back.
"Anna is a witch. She may betray my naive mate. She was seven when I last met her and now, she might not be the same girl anymore." Mason blinked. "Prepare everything. We would be leaving tonight."
"We're going to wonderla, wonderla, wonderla..." Kathy jumped happily and left the room.
All shook their head in annoyance.
"Is she drunk?" Natasha whispered.
"I guess so," Edrala answered.
"Stop talking irreverently!" I said slowly in a low voice making them bow their head.
"Pardon us, Alpha." They straightened themselves up.
"I'll prepare everything in a few more minutes, Alpha," Mason said and bowed his head before leaving the room.
I leaned against the wall beside me and closed my eyes in frustration and grief of not knowing what Bella going through.
A tear slipped my eyes as Bella's face clouded my imagination.
A hand came in contact with my cheek causing me to jerk away from it.
I opened my eyes and looked down at Natasha with a raised eyebrow.
"What?" I asked coldly and straightened myself up. I didn't want to be rude as she was one of my mate's friends.
"I just wanted to tell you to loosen up. What is bound to happen is supposed to happen."
Edrala walked inside the room towards me with a smile on her face which made me glare at her. I wanted to strangle her for smiling while my mate wasn't there but then I forced myself to stay calm.
"Xanthos," My jaw clenched in anger but then I thought of Bella which made me feel calm.
The words that she said next made me get baffled.
"The cycle of struggle for untangling the tangles is bound to complete."
Before I could stop them, they walked out of the room.

Heyo!
I apologize for giving a small chapter.
Is my plot having many holes? Is my story not good?
