"Are you still in that bloody shower, Bethy" Alice banged on the door, it was 6.30 and I was due on shift at 10pm, plenty of time for a shower.

"Piss off" I washed the shampoo out of my hair and got some in my eyes "Ouch"

"Are you ok, love?"

"Just shampoo in my eye Al, go away!" I finished rinsing off, grabbed a towel and wrapped it round myself tightly. Opening the door a crack "Your mates?"

"Back out the front, your majesty" Alice stepped back and I waddled towards my room.

"How come you never wear a dress or skirt Beth? You know, a bit of pride in yourself"

"How come you don't go flush yourself down the toilet"

"Come on Bethany" Alice coped a glare as I slammed the door in his face "The guys, well they think you're, you're ..."

I opened the door a crack and eyeballed my big brother, he rubbed his nose in worry. He knew he was on thin ice.

"I'm late, I'll see you out the front" Alice turned on his heel and hightailed out of my sight.

Gee, I though I was done with his belly aching about my appearance, he gave up last year before Christmas and now some A-hole has said something stirring him up.

I heard a door slam and sure enough Alice was returning for another round.

"Umm Beth"

"Yes"

"Sorry, I had no right. You look lovely whatever you are wearing. Love you?"

Whenever either one of us says 'love you' the recipient always says it back.

"Love you too. Come in here" I yelled through the door, I needed to see his face.

"What" Alice peaked round the corner.

"Sit" I patted the bed and he slouched over then flopped down sprawled out amongst my pillows and stuffed teddy. "I said sit.....never mind"

"I love you Alice you know that"

"Yea, course, BJ'd. I just worry bout ya, you know. It's not healthy stuck alone all the time with nobody special" Alice punched my shoulder softly and tossed teddy at me.

"So says the daily imbibing Vampire who only comes out at night" I leaned over and grabbed my watch from the table, it was covered in sparkles, it was actually pretty.

"BJ I want. No! I am ordering you. Take the night off. Sit down and enjoy yourself for once. Have some snacks and a laugh"

"Your ordering me and who do you think will work on such short notice, Eden is in New York remember"

"It's all sorted, Alan is coming in to take over your post"

"I could just go out to the movies" I tied my hair in a bun and glanced in the mirror to check for any stray strands floating around my head.

"Oh, but you won't will you. Just sit and listen, you don't even have to talk. And wear some clothes"

I eyeballed him and he stood up, fast "I do wear clothes you nit"

"Girl clothes I mean... just think about it, ok" Alice walked out speedily, no waiting for retorts for him! I love the creep but he was a pain in the arse sometimes. Like now.
