Chapter 10

Horror shifted his car into park, they'd finally arrived back to the Book and Bakery after their long and eventful day, they both really wanted to go home and lay down. Horror's shift had long since ended. Error, of course didn't have to worry about that as he had the rest of the day off thanks to the deal Error and Blue had struck.

Horror turned to his fellow skeleton sitting in the passenger seat. Their entire ride home had been quiet, not the kind of quiet that seeped of discomfort that Horror was used to from others, but a quiet that seemed to come from a place of someone being too mentally tired to conversate.

"Well, today was action-packed, yeah?" Horror said staring at the Book and Bakery's wall that was in front of his current parking spot.

"You could say that again." Error moaned, slightly sliding down in his seat for further emphasis. Horror gave a deep chuckle and leaned on his steering wheel. "That darn lemon boy, there's hardly any more light left in the day. The day's basically over with!" Error continued to moan and groan, finally sitting up in his seat, while turning his attention to Horror.

"You do realize that there's still," Horror stopped short to look at the digital clock, "about 3 hours left until it gets dark out."

"Yeah, but I ride my bike home, by the time I get home I'll be exhausted." Error explained.

"You could load your bike into my car and I can take you home." Horror offered. Error paused to think, but ended up shaking his head. "Really? Are you sure?"

"Yeah, besides it's nice out." Error explained.

"Okay then." Horror replied as Error unbuckled his seat belt and got out of his car.

Horror shifted his car into reverse, readying to back out of his parking space when he saw a small blur of blue running towards his car. Blue was racing to the car, waving his arms to catch Horror's attention. He calmly tapped the window to Horror's driver side door and waited until Horror rolled the window down before he spoke.

"Sorry Horror, I just wanted to make sure the delivery went okay. You and Error were gone for hours." Blue explained himself worriedly while ringing his hands. He knew he probably shouldn't be worrying about Ink, but he had promised to call him after work so they could talk, and its been an hour and a half since closing.

"Ah, yes, that," Horror mumbled while shifting his car back into park. Seems like he'll have to explain what had happened. "Error and I are okay, the uh- Lemon guy, that always gets lemon stuff wasn't doing so well, though."

"Wh-, Ink? What do you mean he wasn't doing well?" Blue asked worriedly, his hand ringing continued and became more intense.

"Ah, well first it seemed Error and him weren't getting along too well and then, next thing I knew, his gaster dragons escaped. Me and Error helped him chase them down, then he became really winded and his dragons helped him. I carried him home and made sure he was fine before we left." Horror explained placidly. However, Blue seemed to become visibly more stressed at his words and wore a uncomfortable frown.

Blue sighed and took a deep breathe, then let it out slowly. "Okay, thanks Horror," Blue thought for a moment and said, "I have something for Dust if you don't mind. I believe you said you were going to drop by his place to check up on him?" Blue said  handing Horror a delivery with Dust's name scrawled out neatly on the top. "I know Dust is feeling a little under the weather." Horror nodded and gratefully took the sweet smelling box into his hands. Horror told Blue his thanks and put his car into reverse, backing out of his spot. Before he could shift it into drive, Blue shouted: "Tell Dust that I hope he feels better." Blue waved cheerily as Horror drove away.

Horror parked outside of his apartment complex and hurriedly made his way to his apartment door. Dust, his boyfriend, was off of work with a terrible cold. He felt horrible leaving his partner alone by himself but Dust had convinced him to go despite his anxious worry. He felt sorry to say that; during todays roller-coaster, that he'd forgotten about him until the 'lemon guy', (or was it boy?) had started wheezing. In that moment he felt worried not only for him, but for his partner who was home alone with no one there. So before leaving he made extra sure 'lemon guy' was okay, because he'll probably be left alone for far much longer than Dust will, seeing as he lives alone.

When he opened the door he was greeted with a hoarse cough from his boyfriend, the hand not being used to cover his cough waved at Horror. Horror frowned deeply when he saw that Dust hadn't moved from his position on the couch all day. He hurriedly locked the door and made his way over to Dust.

"Did you get up at all today?" Horror asked as he placed the gift from Blue onto the stand near the couch.

"No. Not really, only got up to grab more tissues." Dust said nasally.

"Not even to eat?" Horror asked with a small concerned glare.

"Wasn't hungry." Dust answered coolly. Horror stiffened slightly beside him.

"I'm making supper." Horror declared as he quickly stood. Before Dust could retort and reiterate that he wasn't hungry Horror opened Blue's 'get well pastries' -as he liked to call them- and stuffed one into his lovers mouth.

"These should bide you over until supper is ready, don't eat too many." Horror said, walking triumphantly to the kitchen when he saw Dust practically scarfing down the sweet pastry.

They sat snuggled on the couch as they watched a movie, Horror was going to get sick without a doubt, but he couldn't find it in himself to care.

As they watched the movie Horror went into detail about his day, explaining the days events as well as he could between scenes. When he explained to Dust how he and Error got along, how he might have made one of his first work friends (Other than Blue and Dust of course.) Dust directed all of his attention to his boyfriend, hanging on to his every word. Dust felt so happy for Horror, so proud, but also a little jealous, seeing how happy Horror was. He wasn't all that upset though, because the expression Horror had made when he got home was so full of relief and joy.

Relief and joy Horror had felt when just laying his eyelights on him, and only him.
Besides, making friends was hard for Horror, all things considered, he could understand why Horror reacted like that. He knew his boyfriend too well to let himself become upset over Horror being happy because he was making friends. He was happy if Horror was happy.

But, make no mistake... If Dust heard even a whisper, a rumor, or anything of the kind about Error hurting his boyfriend. Dust would destroy him, in every aspect of the word. Well, there he went again; getting protective of his already protective boyfriend. They were really made for each other, weren't they?
