A/N: so I'm writing this one for myself! Because my birthday is coming up, 29th of may if yah want to know, i personally have really bad memories of my birthday as every year something horrible always happens around my birthday, to the point that this isn't a coincidence, I'm honestly convinced i was cursed or something as a kid but who knows anyway enjoy this Redson oneshot!

Plot: Readers Birthday is coming up and Redson wants to make the event special just like his significant other but the reader doesn't actually celebrate their own birthday.

-Author's POV-
Redson grins as the preparations for y/n's birthday party, he booked out her favourite restaurant for the event and had begrudgingly gotten Noodle boy and Dragon Horse girl to help him set up the place for the event "this is looking good Red Boi!" Mei cheers as she slide next to Redson "it's Redson and of course it looks good! I wouldn't have it any less for y/n!" Redson says with a confident smile, MK turns around to look at the two "hey uh Redson doesn't y/n normally not celebrate her birthday?" MK asks "well yes, she normally doesn't celebrate her birthday but i want to do something special for her anyway! She may not think it but she is the most amazing person i know! Now you better not mess up those decorations peasants!" Redson says, shouting at the end making MK salute before running off to continue decorating, Redson lets out a huff before he turns to Mei "I'm trusting you to make sure things go well here while i go out and distract y/n long enough for you both to finish up here got it?" Redson says, Mei nods and runs off to help MK while Redson leaves to go find his significant other.

-your POV-

You let out a soft hum as you continue to draw away at your desk as you listen to your favourite songs, today had gone relatively uneventful and was decently peaceful much to your relief, you had planned to hopefully finish your drawing then head out with Redson, maybe go to your favourite place to eat before a nice walk in the park, something small and nice, as you finish up the drawing you hear the familiar whoosh of fire from you boyfriend using his Pyroportation to apparate into your home "y/n? Are you home?" You hear Redson call out "yeah! I'm in my art room!" You call back, hearing him run up the stairs of your home you fold up the drawing and place it in your pocket just in time for Redson to peek his head into your art room "hello Starlight! Happy birthday!" Redson greets as he enters and moves over to give you a hug and a kiss to your forehead "awe thank you, but you know I'm not to fond of my birthday hun" you replied giving his cheek a kiss "I know but that doesn't mean I can't still love that you were born" he hums out "how cheesy" you giggle as he huffs "you really had to say that?" Redson hums "yeah, oh! I was thinking we could go to my favourite restaurant and have lunch together and then maybe go for a walk through the park?" You say, a look of panic flickers to Redson's face "uh well I thought maybe you and me could take a walk around the park first!" Redson says a little fast "ok then? You aren't planning anything are you?" You ask with a small smirk "what?! No! I Redson promise you that I am not planning a thing!" Redson says, you smile and give his cheek a peck "alright then, lets head out to the park" you say and head down the stairs to the front door leaving Redson to follow behind with a smirk and a blush.
You and Redson had actually taken a longer walk then you normally would go on, you had stopped to get some drinks and even found some wild flowers, Redson personally didn't like this park but he new you liked to roam the aria as it inspired a lot of your art so he didn't mind walking with you, if anything he at least got to see that goofy smile he loves so much on your face, but now you and Redson are headed for your favourite restaurant to get some dinner, the walk there was peaceful, Redson would occasionally text someone and as you both got closer he seemed to get nervous, you figured out why when you both entered the restaurant, MK and Mei both cheer out "happy birthday y/n" as Pigsy and Sandy let off party poppers, Tang trys to pop a party popper but it seems to be a dud popper, you turn to Redson who has a smirk on his face "so you did plan something hmm" you grin at Redson "yes I did, you deserve to have something nice, though I know you aren't fond of big events so I made it just us and your friends" Redson says "you know they think of you as a friend too right" you hum out "they can think that all they like but these peasants are your friends only" Redson huffs stubbornly, though you know he doesn't entirely mean it, you all have a nice evening of eating food and opening your presents from them, Sandy got you a tea set with a ocean design on the sides, Pigsy got you a apron with your name hand sewn into it, Tang got you a book you had told him about that you missed out on getting, MK got you a letterman jacket that had similar details to Redson's and Mei got you a motor bike, much to everyone's shock.

After the small party ends you and Redson head back to your home where you both cuddle up on the couch to watch some shows together, a few shows in Redson gets up saying he needs to get something and when he gets back he has a small wrapped box "now I did plan to originally give this at the party but if I know horses girl and Noodle boy is they would make to big of a scene over it" Redson says as he hands you the box, you smile up at him and open the gift up, the gift was a small box with a small ring inside, you look up to see Redson with a blush on his cheeks "it's a promise ring, I know currently you do not wish to marry me but I thought that until the time it be a reminder of how much I love you" Redson confess his blush growing darker "Redson that is the sweetest!" You say as you move to hug him "thank you so much for today, i love you" you say, Redson smiles and pulls you closer to himself, the to of you spend the rest of the night cuddled up on the couch enjoying each others company.
