A long, long time ago, there was a huge war. A war so big, that it changed earth as we knew it. Back then, people called it World War III but, nowadays, we refer to it as the Catalyst War.

You see, this war began around the time overpopulation was so bad that even the richest of the old countries could not provide for their people. After some time, this became a huge problem and all countries severed ties and decided to try and restore their own wealth. The smaller countries, who could not afford to survive on their own, were taken over by those who had the resources. Nevertheless, it was all in vain.

Some people called them visionaries, some people called them mad but, by the end of it, everyone would agree the mass genocide that followed was not the solution. The nuclear attacks carried out by the most powerful of leaders reduced world population by up to 75% and those who survived were left to fight through the catastrophic aftermath. Another 10% of the population died due to the complications related to the so called 'mutations'. Those who survived the mutations, however, found themselves developing new 'abilities'.

As the centuries continued to fly by, the old technology was replaced by the newfound Magik, made possible by the new abilities. The people who originally mutated married and had children and, generation after generation, the number of people with abilities decreased significantly. Nowadays, rarely anyone presents any sort of mutation hence why the mutant bloodlines are treasured in our society.

Pure families, those who managed to pass down their abilities to an extent, are now the wealthy Lords and Ladies. The unity of mankind, The Legion, otherwise known as the Kingdom of Talathe is ruled by the most powerful and purest of bloodlines, who managed to keep their lineage clean throughout all these centuries and display a number of powerful abilities.

In order to keep their linage pure, the royals hold a selection which shall only be attended by all of the rightful heirs of the Lords and Ladies. The selected are tested for mutation and purity of blood and, if they pass the test, they shall be allowed to compete for the love of the royal heirs. The selected will not only have to win over the royal heirs but also have to prove their abilities through a series of tests to prove they are worthy of the title.

Now that the youngest princess has come of age, the King and Queen are sending out the forms to all those who meet the requirements. Most importantly, the selection will determine the next heir as only one of the twins can ascend to the throne one day.
