Nightmare Fuel: X Reader Edition (April Fools 2015)

Hey there, guys! I thought it was about time I branched out and did things other than boring first person Skyrim fanfics, so here we are with my first attempts at X Readers! :D I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoyed writing them~ ^w^  I put my heart and soul into these one-shots, and I really hope that they turned out all right! None of them are very long, so I decided to compact them into one chapter for ease of reading, just so you know.

Well, that's enough from me! On to the stories! :333

Nazeem X Reader: Getting to the Cloud District

(A/N: This is an AU where he's not married. Otherwise that might make things realllllly awkward.)

 Nazeem's POV

There she was, standing in the middle of the Plains District marketplace on a sunny Middas afternoon, her (hair color) hair glinting like precious metal in the sunlight and her (eye color) eyes shining with amusement as she conversed with Carlotta about some trivial topic as I made my way down the poorly cobbled road. Gods, she was beautiful in every sense of the word; not only did she look like a goddess, she had a sweet personality that could melt even the iciest heart and a voice I was sure was more heavenly than Mara's herself.

There was absolutely no way I could deny it, I was hopelessly enamored with (Y/n).

And today, I'd decided I was going to finally do something about my infatuation. Taking a deep breath, I made my way over to where she was standing, and, luckily, she'd wrapped up her conversation with Carlotta, giving the woman a parting wave as she turned to leave. My approach was wonderfully timed, it seemed, as she immediately noticed me walking towards her, and, with a gesture of my hand for her to wait, she stopped, head tilted slightly in question as she waited for me to speak. My heartbeat quickened as I opened my mouth to speak, and, for a terrifying second, no sound came out. Come on, Nazeem, you can do this, I thought to myself determinedly, and, trying again, I said the first thing that came into my mind, "Do you get to the Cloud District very often? Oh, what am I saying, of course you don't."

Mortified by my unthinking and very snide comment, I froze in embarrassment as I waited for (Y/n)'s reaction, terrified that I'd ruined my chances with her forever. However, (Y/n) let out an unoffended laugh at my horribly rude comment, replying with a small grin, "What a silly thing to say! Nazeem, you know I'm a thane; I've seen you up at Dragonsreach several times!"

"I-I know," I replied, cursing myself for stuttering as I tried to come up with some way to apologize, or at least try and salvage our shipwreck of a conversation, "I didn't mean to actually say that-"

"Well, there's no harm done," (Y/n) interrupted with a reassuring, friendly smile, her expression filling me with newfound confidence I hadn't felt until just then. Suddenly, I knew just how to redeem my current situation.

"What I meant to say is... well..."

"...Yes?"

"I guess now's as good as any time to tell you this. I must confess, you've caught my attention since the day you showed up in Dragonsreach, when you were a figurative 'nobody' with no claims to your name, and since my feelings for you have continued to grow until they've consumed me. Everything about you is sheer perfection to me, I cannot stand by idly any longer for fear some other man may confess before I have the chance. I... I don't know if you even feel remotely the same way for me, but, if you do not reciprocate my affections, I at least hope you understand that I just had to confess mine..."

I trailed off, my burst of courage now quite spent as I spent a few agonizing moments waiting for (Y/n)'s reply, praying to any Divine that might listen that I might be so lucky that she would have feelings for me too. Relief washed over me as a charming grin appeared on her face, her eyes lighting up as she responded animatedly, "You have no idea how long I've been waiting to hear you say that, Nazeem! I... I really like you too," she continued, blushing lightly as she spoke, "I'd been meaning to tell you sooner, but I never really got the chance, with everything that's been going on here lately, between dragons attacking and all that business with the Jarl's son. I'm just so glad to hear that you feel the same."

"As am I."

Like I was in some kind of trance, I moved somewhat hesitantly closer to her, not quite sure what I was doing until my hands rested gently on her shoulders and our lips met. I saw (Y/n)'s eyes widen in surprise at my rash actions, but as I was about to pull away and apologize, I noticed that her expression was joyful and not in the least offended. I relaxed and closed my eyes, pulling (Y/n) even closer to me as I got lost in that glorious moment.

It felt as if I was on fire - not the burning into ash and cinders kind of burning, but one filled with passion and triumph raced through my being, filling me with a kind of ardor I'd never felt the likes of before. I couldn't form a single coherent thought, yet my mind was racing at the same pace as my heart as I kissed the woman of my dreams.

However, I was brought quite harshly back into reality by the sound of someone clearing their throat. "Would you mind doing... that... elsewhere?"

(Y/n) and I broke away awkwardly, and I turned to glare at the person who'd interrupted our moment, who turned out to be a Whiterun Guard at his post, who seemed somewhat flustered by what he'd just witnessed. Once he'd realized he'd gotten my full attention, he continued in a heavily accented voice, "You do realize you're in the middle of the Plains District marketplace."

"I think it probably would be best for us to find a more... private place," (Y/n) admitted, embarrassment coloring her cheeks as she gave the guard an apologetic look before turning to me, a devious smile suddenly appearing on her face as she added in a suggestive tone, "... Why don't we go to the "Cloud District" together, Nazeem? After all, according to you I've never been there before."

I couldn't help but laugh at her statement, ignoring the guard's expression of disgust and consternation as I replied, "I think that is an excellent idea, my dear."

Extended Ending -

3rd Person, Guard's POV

The two lovers walked away towards Nazeem's house as the guard stared after them, his mouth opened slightly in horror as the meaning behind what (Y/n) had said registered in his mind. After a few seconds of disgusted disbelief, the disgruntled guard let out a repulsed-sounding noise, only barely managing to repress his desire to scream aloud. Gods, I really do not get paid enough to deal with this, he thought to himself regretfully.

Ancano X Altmer!Reader: The True Power of the Eye of Magnus

3rd Person, Ancano's POV

She intrigued him, and he both loved and loathed her for it.

He, Ancano, had a very demanding, taxing role as the advisor to the Arch-Mage, as, not only did Savos Aren often disregard his advice and refuse to inform him on many things he thought he ought to know about, he was far from popular with the other residents of the College. To be honest with himself, Ancano hated his job with all his heart, though he knew that the Dominion needed him there, and he'd be a fool to throw away his relatively high position amongst the Thalmor for something as trivial as being popular among his inferiors. It was easy to return the disdain and hatred most of the members of the College showed to him, and he was perfectly fine with things remaining that way. He'd had everything under control until he'd met her

She'd only joined the College of Winterhold a few weeks ago, and, at first, she had barely caught the Thalmor's notice, as, aside from having a pleasant-looking face and figure, she didn't seem like anything much. Yet she proved to be so much more. Though it shouldn't have surprised him - she was a fellow Altmer, after all -, she proved to be remarkably talented in the school of Illusion magic, and, despite not being well practiced in the art, which the Thalmor agent found rather upsetting, she seemed to show even more aptitude for it than the elite Illusion scholar, that degenerate heathen Dunmer Drevis Neloren. This alone wasn't enough to spark his interest in her, however. It was her attitude towards him that affected his mindset towards him the most. For once, someone at the College actually respected him, and didn't just use respect as a cover to flirt with him, like that obnoxious wench Nirya who seemed so unfortunately enamoured with him. She spoke with him as a near equal, which she was, but she held proper respect for his station and didn't join in with the others in jeering at him to his face, which was something he appreciated greatly. Though she never stepped in to stop the others from pulling off one of their aggravating schemes, Ancano knew it would be unwise of her to attempt such a thing on her own, and he would not wish for her to be ostracized the same way he was. Although their conversations were brief, whenever he spoke with her they rarely had an unpleasant conversation, and both parties often parted company in a better mood than they had before they'd interacted. The Thalmor agent had found this quite puzzling, but somewhat pleasant, and decided not to put too much thought into why he enjoyed spending so much time around (Y/n).  It seemed that fate had other plans, however.

To the mer's slight frustration, he noticed that he was spending more and more time with (Y/n) - or attempting to, at least - than he was attending to his duties as advisor. He knew he shouldn't let himself be distracted by some simple mage; he had a job to be doing, after all, but he found himself unable to distance himself from her, and even the thought made him feel nauseated. At the same time, speaking with her grew increasingly awkward for him; he found himself easily flustered when speaking with her and would often forget what he was going to say, which was an alarming experience for him. At least, it was until he realized that he felt something towards the female Altmer who'd become his... friend.

And, since that realization, his life has been somewhere between a living hell and heaven on earth. He's found it difficult to focus on anything but her; even when she wasn't around him some part of his mind was always thinking about her. . He finds himself unthinkingly walking towards the arcanaeum more and more frequently, as that's the location where they almost always go to speak in, and it's becoming increasingly difficult for him to force himself to focus on even the most menial and thoughtless of tasks.

One day, he knew he would have to do something about all of this and might have to choose his duty over her, especially with the orders from the Dominion he'd been issued about a week before now, but now was not that time. And the Thalmor wizard was going to do his utmost to enjoy whatever time he might have with (Y/n). Even if he never found out about how she felt about him, he could at least have fond memories of her before he'd have to act on the Aldmeri Dominion's behest.

Ancano was so busy angsting internally about his love life (or lack thereof), he didn't notice the large-sized rock hurtling towards his skull until it was too late. It connected with his head sharply, making an awful sound as the Thalmor wizard collapsed on the ground, his ears ringing and his vision fading. His last conscious thought was of (Y/n), and his regret of not being able to see her one last time.

(This one is unfinished, but I just wanted to get it posted today! :D I'll be changing and adding some to it soon. But woah it became unexpected angst because I didn't finish it >:3 Maybe I won't then.)

(Happy April first, everyone! :D But, in all seriousness, I am so incredibly sorry for any mental or emotional scarring this stuff may have caused. Though I must say I do have a few good ideas for a Sheogorath X Reader, should anybody be interested... >:DDD Also, this is "deadicated" to Solienna. She knows exactly why. XDDDD)
