i. A Brief Intermission

Hello there! I'll be honest with you, I don't know whether this can be considered an actual extra, especially considering it's not at all Mage-related. It might've been more practical for me to make another book for this particular idea of mine, as it's something I've never tried before and I suppose it might 'distract' from the purpose of my current one-shot book. Nevertheless, I feel that I should at least start it somewhere it might be seen.

If you've come here from Mage, you probably already know I'm more than a little swamped with responsibilities at the moment. If not, well, now you know, I suppose. With no end in sight until at least late October, I'm unsure of how many 'high stress' chapters I'll be able to put out (I consider 'high stress' chapters ones having to do with the continuation of a story's plot, as it requires planning and sometimes redrafts/completely scrapping what I have and starting over from a more fitting beginning). Consequently, as the main story I've been working on for this site, Mage, has a plotline that's currently gearing up for some action-packed, heavier stuff, I don't feel like I'd be able to write for it adequately until I'm getting at least 6-7 hours of sleep on a regular basis.

In the meantime, however, I've come up with a way to still try and keep myself active, in order to try to keep my writing from decreasing in quality from lack of practice. Considering how long it's been taking me to write Mage, there have been plenty of characters I've come up with for the Elder Scrolls universe that just never quite fit anywhere within the story-and ones made for entirely different ones that have yet to be written, or that I may never get the chance to write. I do want to give them some time in the sun, however, and that's why this 'extra' exists. I'd like to share the 'shelved' characters I've drafted up with you, and, if enough people show interest in a particular character, I'd be more than happy to write up some short story or one shot featuring them, and if you have any particular ideas in mind for a plot involving them, I'd be happy to hear it. I'll write anything from bits of backstory to their actions while involved in a certain part of a questline they've done, angst, fluff, you name it, there's an almost definite chance I'll do it. (I draw the line at requests for 'mature' romance scenes, however. I have no desire to write that and would simply rather not have anything of that nature on my account.)

The characters that will be available to request have all been listed below, I'll probably add to / organize them at some point in the future but for now this is the neatest and most concise list I can manage. I hope that you all find at least one you find interesting, and hope to hear from you on the matter.

Riminel the Vindictive

Summary of Character: An absolutely terrible altmer with very few morals and will flirt with nearly anything that moves. Very self-centered, vain, and far more sadistic than he initially appears to be, Riminel could easily be considered somewhat of a sociopath considering the ways he acts and thinks. He joined the Dark Brotherhood after the main events of the Skyrim questline, but previously used to be an unaffiliated killer. While he could care less about the religious aspect, is glad to have somewhere to stay where he's not wanted by the guard. (He may or may not have a hefty bounty in each of the nine Holds.) He isn't a particularly tragic figure or anything... honestly, he's just an ass. But lucky for him, he happens to be a very entertaining and somewhat good-looking one, and he's gotten far on those two things alone. Currently not paired with any characters.

Corvina Laelius

Summary of Character: Corvina is a no-nonsense and somewhat cynical young Imperial woman, one who could be considered wise beyond her years. Like Riminel, she too joined the Dark Brotherhood post-relocation to Dawnstar, but is nothing like him in terms of personality and preferences. While she is desensitized to killing, she is still capable of forming meaningful relationships with other individuals, although she is very careful about whom she allows herself to become invested in. She is also far less arrogant and showy, preferring to stick to the shadows in order to get the job done rather than flaunting her prowess carelessly. She is very loyal to her new 'brothers' and 'sisters', and actually considers them a family, of a sort, and while not being a zealot, does have some faith in the Night Mother and Sithis. As is the case with some less than upstanding individuals, Corvina does have a bit of an unpleasant past, one that most certainly helped her become the cold-blooded murderer she is at present. Currently paired with a canon character.

Lanre

Summary of Character: For someone without much of a past or, until recently, much of a future, Lanre has managed to keep a remarkably cheerful disposition. He's a charming and optimistic sort of fellow with a knack for problem-solving, all of which are quite helpful where his less than benign profession is concerned. He also happens to be a rather good liar, and is gifted at decelerating verbal and even physical conflicts when given the chance to. Lanre generally pays great attention to detail, and very little that is said around him ever escapes his notice. He has a sense of humor, too, although it's rather awful as it tends to manifest itself in the form of harmless dad jokes or inappropriately timed puns, to the utter aggravation of those that speak to him. Although initially unaffiliated with any groups, he eventually finds his way into the Riften Thieves' Guild, although when he joins, it's clear to him it's seen better days. However, he feels that there's more than meets the eye as to the reasons why things have been so rough. He just can't quite tell what. Eventual Guildmaster; Currently paired with a canon character.

Celsus Talanian

Summary of Character: Despite being a relatively seasoned warrior not unused to killing for a living, Celsus tries avoid violence when possible, unless as a means of self-defense-or in order to protect the Emperor or his subjects. As a member of the Penitus Oculatus of lower-middling importance, he is experienced enough to know how to handle fair fights with ease, and his talent at improvisation has saved him more than once in ones that weren't, and he has a sort of simple, honest charisma about him. He's not particularly 'book smart' or quick-witted, but what he lacks in scholarly intellect he makes up for in common sense and being a good judge of character. He is a modest man of plain tastes, and is relatively soft-spoken, which oft surprises strangers considering his commanding and somewhat intimidating appearance. Celsus also happens to have a soft spot for animals, and happened to 'adopt' a wolfhound, Meeko, on his way back from an assignment. Little does he realize that the world has greater plans for him than he could ever imagine, although it will doubtless come at a high cost. Unrealised Dragonborn; Currently paired with Umatta, TheBlackMask's rad OC.

Honestly, I'm definitely going to be adding more characters to this (currently planning on tossing in a Forsworn raider, an Orsimer scholar, and a Dunmer wrongfully exiled from their Great House), but I wanted to get something posted tonight as I did promise that I'd be updating. But I hope there's at least one out of the current list of miscellaneous OCs that you'd find interesting to read about, haha.

Thank you guys so much for reading, and I hope to be posting a new one-shot soon!
