Legends never die
Thalia grace sighed. She hugged her knees close to her face. After a long time of being alive, Percy and Annabeth had died. She had known their children and grandchildren. They also passed on and she was left with only a few memories of her friends. It was surprising really- that she was able to say their names at all. For the first few years of their death, she had been sullen, and whenever she thought about them, she used their pronouns.
THALIA WAS FAMILIAR WITH DEATH.
The pain of the wars with the people she was closest with had got her sad- much more than war now could. It was clearly because nowadays she did not let anyone in. She'd built up walls, just like many more huntresses before her. The pain in seeing someone close to you leave the world, leave you alone was too much to handle. She'd never been one to want to scream and cry freely without judgment, but nowadays that was all she wanted to do. Just scream, and express her pain instead of hiding away. But, she could not get close to anyone, not again.
THALIA WAS UP TO BURSTING POINT, THE PAIN WAS UNBEARABLE.
The wars passed and Thalia Grace went through them all. She was still the punk she was before though she did not celebrate her birthday. Who cared about your age if you were a hunter of Artemis always passed through her head. Endless age- it might have made most people excited to be immortal but having it- even partial immortality hurt more than people expected. Seeing your friends, leave you alone left, right and center felt like her heart shattered and there was no glue strong enough to stick it back.
THALIA FELT LIKE THE PAIN WAS KILLING HER FROM THE INSIDE.
Day after day Thalia appeared as a fearless lieutenant of the Hunters with no emotions. Every time she went to Camp half-blood Thalia felt a pang of sadness in her heart due to remembering her cousins and brother. She hid it well though. She would not let anyone in there was one thing that agitated her the most when huntresses died even if they joined years after her.
THALIA HATED LIFE, SHE WANTED DEATH TO TAKE HER AWAY FROM THIS MESS.
Thalia remembered Annabeth's last words to her, they ended with Annabeth calling Thalia her sister. That made her cry every time she thought about it. The way Percy told her that she should not hide the pain made her feel guilty. Then she laughed like a psycho as Percy would have said fondly that she was being the same old pinecone face not listening to others. Then he would dramatically gasp and exclaim how she managed to feel guilty. Then, as quick as lightning, her face went back to being emotionless.
THALIA HAD TO HIDE HER EMOTIONS.
She knew she had to be brave, for everyone but there was a reason every old hunter of Artemis was usually depressed even if they hid it well. They knew there was no point in getting attached. There was a reason that people who held the sky needed either the strength of mind or muscles. The mind being strong was the only reason people could survive.
BUT WAS THALIA'S MIND STRONG ENOUGH?
There was development in the English language, Everybody used different words and thought Thalia was weird for using you and your. It gave her serious Deja vu to how she treated Zoe. She had even stopped feeling giddy every time a new girl joined. It was normal now.
THALIA WAS LOSING HER OLD SPIRIT. SHE WAS BEST FRIENDS WITH SADNESS.
So, as Thalia Grace daughter of Zeus bled out on the battlefield, Artemis kneeling over her with a sad expression she smiled and asked," have I served you well, have I reached the honor of my predecessor?" Artemis smiled and nodded," I hope Elysium serves you well my huntress". Thalia smiled and her eyes went glassy.
THALIA SMILED, SHE WOULD FINALLY MEET THEM AGAIN. DEATH GREETED HER AND SHE WENT ALONG- WILLINGLY.
Everyone knew about Thalia Grace even after she died, her story being repeated and everyone called Thalia hero, the title she rightfully deserved.
Nobody forgot because,
LEGENDS NEVER DIE!
