3: Bad News

Holding the teenage girl's body in his arms, Seth carried her to where his boss and friend told him he'd be.

"Man, this is some movie type shit," Dean started walking alongside Seth and the currently unconscious girl in his hands, "I just hope, little miss sleeping White, isn't annoying."

Seth rolled his eyes at his brother in crime, pausing after going over Dean's words. "Did you mean Sleeping Beauty?" He asked, giving Dean incredulous looks.

Dean shrugged, popping a strip of gum in his mouth. "Same thing," the man with lunatic tendencies at times said. His brows knitting, "Then who is White?" He asked.

Nearing Roman's door, nudging his head to tell the guards to open the door one time, Seth replied," Snow White. How the hell did you get the two confused?"

"Well, they all end up with a prince anyway. Why care? See, if one had ended up with a mass murder, now that would have been a great story," Dean told and Seth rolled his eyes walking in, seeing Roman waiting patiently behind his desk.

"Man, it's for kids," Seth argued as he set Brie down on the big, comfy, red leather couch Roman had in his office.

"Kids are boring." Shaking his head, Seth decided not to reply to Dean but turn to Roman who gave them both lost looks, getting up to walk over to the girl he picked.

"The hell were you guys talking about?" Roman asked though his attention was on the girl as checked her neck for a pulse, getting a healthy one, he looked to his friends.

"Fairy tales," Seth told as if grown men without children talking about fairytales is normal, Dean nodding besides him, hands tucked in his black pockets. Roman often wonders why he kept those two around, much less consider them his brothers.

"Did she show any signs of waking?" Roman ignored Seth's answer, not even wanting to know what the hell they meant.

"No, she didn't stir or anything. That shit really did its number on her. I think this is longest I've ever seen -well heard it keep someone out cold," Dean answered, sticking a next strip of gum into his mouth, head tilted, watching her.

"Well, Stephanie was behind it. Won't be surprised if she added extra just to make sure it kept her out."

"I'm glad that I've captured your attentions," Stephanie told. All the students and teachers alike where gathered in the school's auditorium, due to Stephanie's request. They were a bit more unsettled today so it took about thirty seconds to calm them all down (strict school).

"I'm sure, you are all wondering why I've gathered you here today," she stopped and looked around and saw the agreeing eyes of the clueless students (as of the moment), and the gloomy ones of the teachers who knew. The headmistress inhaled, continuing, "Tragedy, struck our walls. It has reached its ugly hands in and took two of our own." Gasping were heard, as students send curious and questioning looks to each other    -knowing better than to talk when Stephanie talks. "Now, I know few of you may have been aware that Brianna Colace had fell sick today and was immediately rushed to hospital."

Alicia and Emma looked at each other, fearing the worst. Others who knew Brie listened in, hoping the best for the girl.

"We don't exactly know the cost of Brie's illness but it seemed bad, so bad we had to rush her to the hospital," Stephanie lied. Her mind playing the events that took place this morning.

▪️🔹🔹🔹🔹▪️ Reality (FlashBack)

After days of going mad trying to think of a plan Stephanie had found one. She wouldn't call it perfect, because they were faults, but it worked the best. Calling Roman, she had informed him of the plan and after bickering they came to an agreement.

Stephanie couldn't execute her plan alone, she needed help. Help that she can trust to keep their mouth shut for long enough.

She was going to poison Brianna. Not to a point of death of course, but to a point where she is sick enough  to be taken to the hospital. And she knows the perfect item to do so.

Miss James was the school's dean, meaning she is in charge of keeping order and roaming the halls for any misconduct. And she was strict....not the strictest dean, but strict all the same. Her job went beyond roaming the halls for misconduct, since the school is also home for all its students, she (and eight others)  did room check-ups.

And of course, Stephanie knew that. She assigned her after all.

It was as if the plan was meant to be, because that day was routine student check ups on Brie's floor. And that was when Stephanie approached miss James.

"I need you to add poison in Brie's water or any liquid." Stephanie whispered to the dean but also teacher, as she stood like they were merely conducting school work business. And of course Mickie (ms James) was confused. Because why? Brie was the school's poster child. And she was actually sweet and didn't deserve any harm. At all.

Seeing the panic in Mickie' eyes, Stephanie spoke again. "Just two drops, it won't kill her but it will make her feel quite sick. Sick enough to be rushed to hospital," the boss ordered, smiling at the passing security guard.

"Why? I can't. That makes no sense. I'm sorry but I'm not doing it," Mickie stood her ground.

Stephanie laughed and shook her head humorlessly. She was humored by Mickie. Humored by Mickie thinking she had a choice. See, Stephanie didn't just pick Mickie because she was in charge of searching Brie's and company rooms, no. She could have easily swapped. She did so, because she had dirt on Mickie.

"You will," the boss's voice dark and her eyes darken as she threatened, without a glimmer of mercy. "Because if you don't, I'd tell everyone about the time when you took a shit load of heroine and coke -shit, I might even let the naked picture of you with coke around your nose 'leak."'

And like that the rules have been laid. Mickie's features harden when she finished looking around for any listening ears. She should have expected that. "Why?" Was all the brunette asked.

"That's for me to know. And for you to get your hands dirty for," Stephanie told, loving the position of power she was in.

"This isn't right. Brie doesn't deserve this for what ever your sick little game may be," Mickie spat but Stephanie rolled her eyes, bored. She knew that. But Brie is her punchline to save her ass. "And I don't deserve this. I've right my wrongs. I don't want to add anymore. I don't want that to be hung over my head." Mickie was fired up. Her emotions showed crystal clear; angered and betrayed.....she also felt guilty.

Stephanie smiled graciously (fake, of course). "Do this for me and I promise, promise, I'd never use that over your head again. Ever," and Stephanie meant her words. Mickie's face was a wind whirl of emotions. She was contemplating.

"Fine," Mickie started, "Are you sure it won't kill her?" Stephanie nodded, she didn't want Brie dead. "Okay, what do I use?"

Stephanie smiled brightly. "Eye drops, only two drops. She should vomit and get a fever, probably feel dizzy," Stephanie informed, Mickie taking it all in, "The eye drops are in your bag already," Stephanie smiled, "Have a good day Miss James, please report any wrongful things to me." She said loudly as teachers walked by, she left with them.

Mickie was left behind, trying to fake a smile, like all is right. She dreaded it. But felt better knowing it won't kill the girl, she (Mickie) has come to love.

Stephanie saddened, "Now, this school is one who take care of their students beyond the walls, and with this in mind we also send Miss James with her." Miss James was one of Brie's favorite teachers. Stephanie, breathe in. "And unfortunately, on the way to the hospital, tragedy struck."

Stephanie allowed that to settle in, watching over them with a sad but strong look. She swallowed for effect, before beginning, feeling like the five second pause was enough time for the students to digress the information. "On the way to the hospital, I've been told by the police, the ambulance was held up. Now, the police think it may have been more than one -presumably, male- person responsible," Stephanie looked over to everyone. "This took place, according to the report-," she looked down at paper where she had the details written, "- Elite street, cornering Deaton lane at lunch, twelve sixteen pm, today."

Inhaling deeply, she looked even more sadden. "The ambulance workers were shot and killed," gasps were heard as she saw the even more worried faces, "And so was, our very own, Miss James."

Sobs and sharp inhaling, let out by students. Many students covered their mouths. Some shook their heads, some stood still, a few, like Stephanie, was feigning to care. Alicia felt her heart pounding, rapidly, as bad as felt that Miss James had died, she was way more curious to know what happened to Brie. Tearing up, she hugged Emma, who hugged her back, she too needed comfort. She was worried about Brie. Others saw the two girls and the girls closest to the two stroke their back or patted their arms to show sympathy.

Noticing all of this, Stephanie exhaled. "Now, there was no trace of Brianna. Police have suspected she may either be kidnapped or killed at a further location. However we are hoping for the best, we are hoping she is alive. And police have send searches out for, our student, our friend, our roommate. Our school's very own angel."

Alicia and Emma looked at each other, confused. They didn't know how to feel. Relieved or not. Hopeful or not. But one thing was certain, they felt frightened.

"So, in this moment, I ask everyone to bow their heads, as Miss Elizabeth, lead the way in prayers," Stephanie announced, stepping away from the podium on the high, wooden stage. The teacher dressed in a simple pants suit, stepped forward, giving Stephanie a gracious nod and a sad smile, as she took the forth.

"Okay, students and everyone alike please bow your heads and close your eyes," when everyone listened, Stephanie included, the teacher began the prayer.

(A/n: this was supposed to be released, a while back but my device kept acting up when I was trying to it, one. Then, I was a bit lost on how to format the chapter, two.

Anyway, next chapter will feature a whole lot more or Brie and Roman. And we'd get more insight of what took place in that whole hold up to trade Brie over to Roman.

I hope you enjoyed it. Like and comment, your thoughts. Ps, I know this chapter was a bit too much Stephanie but we need her to tell the story. Plus, it's in its early stages, so like, side characters like Stephanie would be more needed, until we dive in deeper to Roman and Brie's story. Which may, funky kick off, like chapter six or something.

All the love, 💞)
