Cry Me a River
"Cry me a river."
That's what she told me
Looking right at me
Gazing back into my stoic eyes
As a tear rolled from my eyelid
Drizzling calmly upon my cheek
Splashing down, like into a flower
Always in my memories
Forever and ever...
And so my tear ran
Everywhere I went
Into the pond inside my backyard
Down to the creek upon the school
Through the river along the shoreline
Into the salted sea
Squeezing through the Grand Canyon
Popping up in the Great Lakes
Travelling along The Nile
Back into the Pacific
Passing by the Atlantic
Down through the Indian
Ending in the Arctic
Creeping in every pool
Shower and bath
Filling sinks
Through and along pipes
Into the ground
Back up again
Sprinklers in the garden
Hoses in the dirt
Cold
Mild
Warm
Down Niagara Falls
Crashing into the abyss
Again, in the Amazon River
Travelling with the plants and animals
Snakes and Rats
Monkeys and Lions
Fish and Birds
Passing by in the Mississippi
Up the Congo
Sneaking though the Missouri
Around Japanese Temples
Ponds and Rivers
Droughts and dams
Currents and streams
Waves and storms
Snow and ice
Puddles and rain
Cups and drinks
Into every marina
Coast and Sea
All across the world
Evaporating back up into the sky
And all over again
Because for you...
I have no tears left
