April Fools Day

The day kids can't wait for

The day everyone laughs

The day we celebrate humour

Bringing out the camera

Creating amusement to look back on

Jokes that will last forever

Times that cannot be repeated

An international celebration

One that we all engage in

Year after year

Season after season

Memory after memory

It brings us together

Like putting salt in someone's cereal

Spraying down the neighbour with a garden hose

Hiding your lover's keys in the morning

Walking through a cardboard door

Dressing up as a prank

Faking a sickness to get out of school

Claiming the dog ate your homework

Switching an exam date on the teacher

Pretending the car won't start before an important meeting

Ordering the wrong food for a special event

Riding your bike through the drive-through

Trolling your friends by text

Sending a silly email

Wearing another person's glasses

Mowing only half the lawn

Giving a terrible haircut

Leaving an excessive mess before cleaning

Doing a stupid prank call

Giving the wrong address for a pizza delivery

Pulling the cord on a bus every stop

Waking someone up with a horn

Dumping water on them while they nap

Rubbing a feather by their nose

Acting like they stunk up the bathroom

Or even plugged the toilet

Oh, yes...

What a day it is...

Because when my whole life fell apart...

I made a  fool of myself
