Escaping With The Enemy
"What do you mean they'll kill you? They're supposed to protect Crypts." You asked.
She shook her head.
"They do. But not people like me. I need to get out of here." She pleaded.
You shook your head.
"Sorry but I can't do that. You are committing a crime and i need to stop you." You pointed out.
She shook her head.
"What crime?" She asked.
You were about to say robbery before you noticed that, besides the large hole in the roof, the bank was untouched.
"Uh, good point. If you aren't robbing the bank, why are you here?"
She showed you the tattoo again.
"So I can escape from them. They will kill me if they catch me. You have to help me. That's what you do right? Help people." She begged.
You could tell she was scared. You looked out past the window and saw that the Crypt agents were loading rounds into their guns. You turned back to the girl and sighed.
"Damnit. This'll look bad on my part." You told yourself.
You shot a hook to the roof and turned to the girl.
"Hang on tight and don't let go."
She hesitanted before grabbing hold of your arm. You rolled your eyes and threw your arm around her before pulling the two of you on to the roof.
"Cool. Give me a sec." You said.
You pulled out the burner phone Matt made you and dialed a number. Eventually someone picked up.
"Is there a reason you have the criminal on the roof with you or are you just turning evil now?" The voice asked.
"Good to hear from you to Shepard. She didn't take anything. I'm helping her get away from the CCU." You explained.
There was a groan from the other line.
"Fine. I didn't know about this though." He agreed.
"You're the reason I still believe in the law Commissioner." You said before hanging up.
You turned to Emily who was looking at you curious. You just shrugged and looked around for a place to escape.
"Ok let's see here. If I was the CCU where would I have my people?" You thought out loud.
Suddenly a bullet laned about a foot away from you.
"Ok there's one. Let's not wait for another!"
You got Emily's attention and signaled for her to follow. You reached the edge of the roof and leaped down into the back alley. You caught Emily as well before the two of you ran towards the exit. Suddenly you stopped.
"Wait a sec. We can't go out like this." You realized.
You looked around before noticing a line of laundry above the two of you. You smiled as you pulled out your sticky notes. When the woman checked on her laundry she only found a small yellow paper.
Will return eventually
-GHOST :)
You now wore a denim jacket over a black hoodie which you used the hood to cover your head. You also wore a pair of slightly loose jeans. Emily had on a red shirt under a blue jacket which had New Marrow High's logo and some leggings. You still had your face mask but it was turned inside out so the decal was hidden.
"Keep an eye out. We don't want anyone sneaking up on us." You warned.
Emily nodded and followed closely to you. The two of you reached the morning rush hour in the city's main plaza. Emily wrapped her arm around yours in a attempt to not get separated.
"Where can we go?" You asked yourself.
"Don't you have a hideout?" She asked.
You thought about it a bit.
"Uh, it's complicated. You see my hideout is just my house." You explained.
Before she could say anything else there was a loud commotion which grabbed your attention. Two white Swat style vans with the CCU logo hazardously parked before 8 soldiers stormed out the back.
"Shit."
You and Emily turned the other way. You began to push through the crowd before a hand grabbed your shoulder.
"We need to see your IDs." The soldier commanded.
You spun around and tried to think but Emily beat you to it by placing her hand on the soldier's chest. Her hand began to glow before the soldier passed out. His chest had smoke coming from it but he was breathing.
"What was that?" You asked.
"My power. I can control pure energy. I just took some of his." She explained.
You looked around and found a exit point. You grabbed Emily and began to walk through until there was gun fire.
"The hell?"
You and Emily ran towards the sound as you turned your mask to normal. You finally reached a clearing where you saw 5 soldiers surrounding a girl and boy.
"And my day just keeps getting better." You said aloud.
The CCU opened fire once more but the girl effortlessly dodged them before pointing at a soldier and shooting out a beam of some kind. The soldier fell to the ground now lifeless.
The boy then picked up a sewer grate and threw it at another soldier which cracked his helmet, and his skull. You and Emily looked at each other before you launched into the fray. Their attention was now on you.
"Holy shit! It's Ghost!" The boy said impressed.
The girl just gave you the side eye. She was definitely creepy. Just standing here you could feel their power. It was something else.
"Who are you and why are you fighting in my city?" You asked.
The boy stepped forward.
"You can call me Tartarus. This is my sister Virgo. We're part of the Zodiacs." The boy explained.
You scratched your chin.
"Zodiacs? Like those things white girls use to justify their rudeness?" You questioned.
The boy's eyes twitched a bit and Virgo, smiled? Did she find that amusing. Tartarus shook his head.
"It doesn't matter. We got what we came for. We're leaving." He ordered.
Virgo nodded in agreement and shot out another beam at a nearby crane causing it to fall over. You looked to see two civilians in the way and quickly shot out a line to grab them. When you pulled them to safety the cane collided and caused the street to crack and crumble.
You looked back to the siblings only to find that they were gone. The soldiers were too distracted so you grabbed Emily and ran.
"Where are we going?" She asked.
You gritted your teeth.
"My hideout."
