Blood Test
You sat on the bed like you were instructed to and waited for the tester to come in. You were currently wearing the grey sweats and shirt that Jason had loaned him. On the back of the shirt was Nightshade in white lettering with the numbers 05 on the sleeve. You were still beyond sore from the fight against the Crypt back at New Marrow. The flight to San Francisco didn't help much either.
Your hair was still a mess thanks to a mix of the fight and your new costume. You made a mental note to work on a new design when you had the chance. You still stank of sweat and blood since you hadn't been able to take a shower since you had arrived. Your eyes were bloodshot and tired looking due to the lack of sleep from the last three days. You were, for the lack of better words, a mess.
You had called Sanders and explained everything to which he was ok with. He knew the headmaster well and assured your safety and Locke had swore to keep your identity hidden. Headmaster Locke had called as well and explain the full story.
You had made a quick call to Emily and explained that you had to stay for a few days and she understood. She had told you to come back as soon as possible so you can go watch a new movie she was interested in. You happily agreed. It was good that she was trying to get back into society.
Your head popped up to the sound of the door opening and spotted not one, not two, but three people walk in. Your guard was now up. You were waiting for a tester, as in one. You began to calm down when you noticed that one of them was Jason. The second one was the girl from the fight who had called you a idiot for jumping head first at the Crypt. The third was someone new. His hair was slick back and was almost as dark as the night sky. His skin was pale and his eyes had a dead look to him.
You quickly determined that he was part of the Vampire house. Jason walked over to the desk and began to look through the drawers for something. The girl walked over to you while the pale boy watched. The girl reached into her pocket and handed you a small blue ball.
“What's that?” You asked.
You took the ball and looked over it.
“Bite down on it. It’ll help with pain.” She explained.
You smirked and handed it back to her.
“I get hit by heavy hitters on the daily basis. I can handle a needle.” You said.
Jason came back with some bandage wrap and began to check over neck and jawline much to your confusion.
“Ok. Do your thing Bret.” Jason said.
The pale boy, Bret, stepped forward and, with no warning, opened his mouth. His fangs showed and you saw the red in his eyes. Bret quickly bit down on your neck causing you to open your mouth to let out a scream. The girl reacted quickly and placed the ball into your mouth. You bit down hard and screamed through it all.
You felt the blood in your veins get sucked out. Your skin was getting tighter and tighter and your whole body began to tighten. You felt tears come up but soon those were gone as well. When Bret finally stopped it was as if someone was pulling out a fish hook from your neck. Jason quickly got to work with cleaning the wound and wrapped it. Bret wiped the extra blood from his mouth yet his eyes stayed red. His skin was no longer pale but now with color.
You opened your mouth and the ball fell out along with some saliva. Your eyes felt like they were on fire and your body refused to loosen. As everyone watched as you began to calm down and Bret began to process the blood. Your muscles finally began to calm down and you finally calmed your breath. You finally recovered and reached up to your neck. It itched.
“Don't touch it. The itching will go away in a bit.” The girl explained.
You just looked at her.
“So what can you tell us Bret?” Jason asked.
Bret finally opened his eyes, still red, and he looked at you. He never took his eyes off of you.
“He doesn't have crypt blood. He's not a beast.” He concluded.
“What about power. Maybe he's like me or perhaps Jason?” The girl asked.
“No. There's nothing special in his blood like any one.” Bret explained.
Jason placed a hand on his chin and began to think.
“However,”
Everyone looked at Bret.
“I've never tasted blood like his before. He has no powers yet, he's different.” Bret finished.
All eyes were on you now. You looked back at all of them and yawned. Jason shook his head and turned to Bret.
“Thank you. Can you get Nathaniel for me please. I need him to show Y/N where he can stay.”
The girl quickly spoke up.
“Actually Nate is busy with looking in to that case down in New Orleans.”
“Ok then. What about Yennefer?” Jackson asked.
“Japan with Taylor. Some kind of dragon clan report or something.”
Your eyes grew.
“Dragon? Dragons are real?!” You asked.
“Not the dragon you're thinking of. I'll explain later.” Jason turned back to the girl, “Is there anyone here?”
The girl thought about it and shrugged.
“I can show him to the showers and to the guest room.” She offered.
Jason finally agreed and allowed you to leave. He told you to rest and that he'll send someone to get you for dinner. You followed the girl through the halls and a thought came to mind.
“Hey, uh, I'm sorry but I don't know your name.” You shamefully admitted.
The girl looked at you over her shoulder. She smiled and introduced herself.
“My name is Lacy.”
“Oh. I'm sorry. I fought alongside you and I didn't even know your name.” You apologized.
“It's fine. I'm not as famous as Jason or Nathaniel. Everyone knows Nightshade and Alucard along with the others. I've only been out on a few missions. I'm still kinda new” She explained.
You nodded and another question came to you.
“Are you a crypt?” You asked.
She thought about it before shaking her head.
“Not really. It's kinda hard to explain but I'm more like the Warriors. It's kinda a long story.”
You didn't push. You already knew the story with the Warriors and how they got their powers and you knew that if it was the same story, it was one she didn't want to talk about.
“Right. So what can you do?” You asked.
“Why do you get all the questions? Why can't I get one or two?” She asked humorously.
“R-right. Sorry. Ask away.”
She thought of a question and finally asked.
“How'd you get your powers?” She asked.
The question caught you off guard.
“I don't have powers. I'm just your average Joe. Well slightly above average.” You corrected.
Lacy gave you a odd look and stopped walking. You stopped as well and your eyes met.
“You mean to tell me, you took down an A class Crypt that the Warriors, as a team, couldn't take care of by yourself with no powers?” She asked.
“You were there weren't you? I've been doing this hero stuff for about 3 years. I guess I'm just use to it.” You explained.
“3 years? I guess you're a veteran at this stuff huh?”
You nodded and Lacy continued her mini tour. She showed you the showers and gave you a fresh set of clothes. After which she showed you to the guest room which was just like the dorm rooms except it was bare from the usual decorations. There were only two books about the history of the Crypts and the campus and a bed. Lacy told you to rest and left after telling you that dinner was at 6:00. You laid on the bed and a small smile formed on your face. And just like that you were asleep.

Meanwhile Back At New Marrow...
Emily sat on Y/N's bed as she stared out the window. She didn't have anything to do for the next few days and she was beginning to get bored. It was to the point that she was willing to throw on Y/N's old costume and fight crime. She knew your routes already so how hard could it possibly be?
BZZ BZZ
She looked down to see her phone ringing. She looked at the contact to see it was a unknown number.
"Hello?" She answered.
"Hello? Is this Emily Sanders?"
It was a girl.
"It is. Who is this?" She asked.
There was a giggle.
"This is Lisa. We have third hour together. I got your number from Carrie. She wanted to see if you wanted to join us at the mall tomorrow. Go shopping and whatnot." Lisa explained.
Emily gave it some thought before shrugging.
"Sure. Why not?"
