- 7: Power -
"Azuki, are you in there?" I heard Lunala's voice from behind the door. "Yeah, give me a sec." I said, setting the book down on my nightstand and walking towards the door.
"Everyone left." She said, as I nodded and walked down the stairs. She followed me. "I've noticed that you like reading." She said, as I sat down on the couch. "Yeah, it's one of my favorite things to do." I smiled at her.
"I do have a book that you might like. A friend of mine gave it to me as a gift, but I feel like it would be in better hands with you." She said, smiling. "What is it about?" I asked.
"Oh, just a few magical spells for legendary Pokemon. Although, they don't exist anymore due to the legendaries who used them have been gone for quite a while. And the spells won't work unless there has been any special interaction between man or that person's family, and said legendaries." She informed.
"They are interesting, as I have skimmed through the book once before." A small, sparkling purple portal appeared before Lunala. She pulled a navy blue book out of it, and then it disappeared.
"Here. Consider this a gift, I suppose." She said, as I eagerly received an old book. "Thanks!" I grinned, as she nodded.
"....?" Lunala held a finger to the side of her head, then nodded. "...Understood." She spoke, turning to me. "I must attend an emergency meeting. Please excuse me." She said, as I nodded. She vanished right then and there.
"..." I instantly stood up, and ran to my bedroom. I sat on my bed, and opened the book. Once I had opened it up to the title page, a glowing purple seal appeared. "Maybe if I...." I said, tapping it. Unexpectedly, it had broken. 'Too easy...!' I thought, grinning.
<Lunala's POV>
I walked down the halls of the Celestial Council, the place where meetings are usually held. Just then I had remembered something important. 'I forgot to tell her about the seal!' I thought, mentally groaning at my forgetfulness.
The seal can only be opened by legendaries themselves or people who have had relatives who had been chosen of Dialga, Palkia, Arceus, or Giratina in the past...
The book contains powerful spells that can harm the user if they didn't have proper training in the past.
I would've had opened it for her if I had knew...
<Azuki's POV>
I continued to read through the ancient book. I was still curious as to why there was such a weak seal... But whatever. "Wait...." I said, reading the title of a familiar looking spell. "Omen of Time...?" I asked myself, trying to figure out why it sounded so familiar.
Then it hit me. "That's the spell Grandma always showed me when I was a kid!" I shouted, happy to remember. Grandma used to show me various magic tricks that she learned from an old friend of hers!
<10 years ago...>
"Another one! Another one!" I shouted eagerly, as I jumped in excitement. "I suppose one more wouldn't hurt, now would it?" My grandmother chuckled as she made a specific motion with her arms, then she thrusted her hand out in front of her, causing a few small beams of light to emerge out of the ground.
"Hey gramma, why were those laser spike thingies so small?" I asked, a bit confused. "Well, as you age, magic gets weaker." She smiled, ruffling my hair.
"That one was one of my favorites." She laughed slightly. I tried to make the motion with my arms that she had, but I had failed miserably. "You're a silly girl, this is how it's done." She said, doing the odd arm movement again, as I followed along. "That's it." She smiled, as I cheered.
<Present Day...>
<An Hour Later...>
I had walked to the large temple where I first encountered Lunala, and stood in the center of the large, circular stone platform. In the exact place she stood.
I've got this.
Grandma showed me how to use it, right?
I only need magic power.
I memorized the spell before I came to the temple, so I knew what I was doing. I performed the motion with my arms, and then thrusted my hand forward.
Five large spikes shot up from the ground. They were so big and bright that you could see them from a few miles away!
Finally, I can help the others!
I was ecstatic, and happy!
...?!
I fell to my knees as I grasped at my chest.
