Ch. 4 Fifty Shades of Blue

^^Ha ha see what I did there^^ (Don't worry, 1) This won't be a quarter as seductive and 2) I haven't read the book or watched the movie and don't plan to. I just watched the trailer and heard people talk about it) Enjoy!

I'm kind of an impatient person. So I get a bit excited/anxious when waiting for something, depending what it is of course. So I have to wait an hour before the driver arrives at the closest bus stop (that I know of) to the Zeyu and Vega mansion (yes I said mansion) in Columbus, Ohio. Great so it took an hour to get here. An hour. I grab my phone out of my purse and check the time, 10:38. Great. Just great. The party starts at five-thirty but there is a lot to do. Food preparation, decorations, tables, chairs, setting the tables with dishes and silverware, setting up the microphone and speakers for the Zeyu and/or Vega to speak tonight, the sorting of the blood types so people know where to get their drinks, the band (they usually ask for a human band so they can kidnap one of their members but they didn't want people to get suspicious so this time it's a vampire band) and their instruments, etc. There is so much to do and I have to be there at 11:15 at most.

If everyone that offered to help is there (which I highly doubt) then we should be done a couple hours before the party starts. There were about ten people who offered to help, I'm guessing around seven of them will show. Three out of my four friends being; Kaitlyn Murray, Edith Wells, and Nicolas Kane. The fourth is Brian Wesley. The jock, the quarterback, the hot guy, the bully, the popular dude, the Ken doll, boy I could go on forever. He keeps up his reputation during school and sometimes in public but when he's not he's a complete nerd. Comic books, books, glasses (well...when his contacts irritate him), video games (mainly Minecraft, COD black-ops, and GTA 5), superhero movies, Harry Potter movies, he's the whole package. We grew up together, only a few houses away from eachother. He was always an immature goofball, then he hit puberty and...Well he was still am immature goofball but he changed. He went from hopeless invisible geek to a completely noticeable hottie in less than two weeks! But I don't like him in that way I swear, he's like a brother to me. It would make things awkward if we dated.

I've been walking for half an hour and have no idea where I am. And I don't have a GPS on my phone. Passing houses and gas stations and more houses and stores. I pass by a shop without realizing what it was. I turn around and read the sign; Sherwood Watch Repair Shop. Awesomesauce! I'll stop in to drop off my alarm clock then come back later to pick it up!

I walk inside the door and it chimes. I'm guessing there are more rooms but the one I walked into is kind of small. Wooden shelves along the walls holding books and watches and clocks, a counter that wraps around the back corner of the room, a cash register on it, more shelves on the other side of the room holding knick knacks and what not. The walls are a cheerful blue color. There's a couple chairs leaning against the wall to my right facing the back of the room, I sit and wait for someone to come out. A minute or two passes and I grow impatient. The sign in the door said OPEN. Maybe they left it flipped by accident? No the door was unlocked. Did they not hear me come in? I then realize there's a bell on the counter. Those little round bells with the buttons on top, you know? I go over and tap the button twice. A few moments pass and a guy walks into the room. He's tall, has short brown hair, and...what color are his eyes? I can't really tell... oh wait! They look blue! I might be wrong though. He looks around my age. He walks over and stand behind the counter with a warm welcoming smile.

"Hi, can I help you with something?" He placed his hands on the counter. Yep definitely blue.
" What was that?" Oh god I said that out loud!

"Oh um, nothing." He raises an eye brow "Uhh...I have an alarm clock that needs fixed, one second." I pull out my purse and rummage through it 'til I finally come across it. I pull it out and place it in front of him. He picks it up and examines it, turning it different directions.

"How the hell...What'd you do? Get it run over by a car?" He's being sarcastic.

"Well no...I...threw it at my wall." The corners of his mouth raise a bit in amusement.

"You play baseball?"

I shrug, "No, I'm not a big fan of sports." At this his eyes twitched for a second and his expression went from playful to a bit serious.

"Quite a throw for a small girl like you. Don't you think?" Small? I'm 5"3! Okay nevermind, that is small. And he's about 6 feet so...yep I'm small.

"People underestimate me, I guess." His expression doesn't change. Kind of makes me nervous.

"Well, I wouldn't want to be the one to wake you up in the morning." I laugh. "I will definitely have this fixed up for you." His face warms again. "But it will take a couple hours miss...?" He gestures towards me.

"Garuci...Rosalind Garuci. I'll be back around 6:30 if that's alright."

"That's perfectly fine."

"Thank you." I start to walk towards the door but spin back around remembering I'm lost. "Um, one more thing, can you give me directions to Crimson Road?"

"Not from around here huh?"

"No I'm actually from Toledo." I usually go along with my family but my sister Adeline is sick so my parents are going to stay with her until the party. Someone will come to look after her then. She's 13 with the same color hair but her eyes are actually hazel and her waves go down to her waist. When we get sick it hits us like a truck, unlike normal humans, because new blood goes into our system each day.

"Well, I'll give you something better," he walks around the counter, passes me and grabs a folded up paper. He walks back to me. "I'm Mason by the way. Here's a map." When he hands it to me our fingers slightly touch, all warmth leaves his face as well as all color. My eyes widen a bit.

" Oh my god. Are you okay? You look like you've just seen a ghost." He grabs my arm and leads me to the door.

"I'm fine." He opens the door and let's go of me, I step out.

"I-I'm sorry if I upse-"

"See you at 6:30." He says this in a stern tone and doesn't even face me, before I could respond he closes the door in my face. Leaving me in a wtfjh moment.
Guys wtfjh means what the fuck just happened.

"Wow, okay bye! 10 outta 10 costumer service." I say the last part quietly hoping he doesn't hear me. I scoff and walk away opening the map. I find where I am and get out my pen to trace the way to Crimson Road. Takes me an extra hour and a half to get there but hey, I made it. 45 minutes late.

Okay so this chapter was a bit longer, but shorter than I wanted it to be. I thought that was a good place to stop it though so...yeah.

Question time!: What do you guys think of Mason? Who do you think is going to play him? Eh? EH??

Idk if you guys can tell but I feel more confident in expressing myself in the authors notes and my writing as well. Even though right now there aren't really anyone here to encourage me along the way, I have hope that soon people will notice my book. And that motivates me to keep writing.

Another thing; if you haven't checked my profile I'll tell you now that I am 14. I'll be 15 in February. So for 1) I'm not as good a writer as a lot of other wattpadians out there and 2) I know cursing isn't lady like (LOL) and not really appropriate for my age but I feel like it's appropriate for my characters ages. So please forgive and bare with me if any of this seems inappropriate to you.

P.s. Also my mom tells me that I have a way with words when the topic is serious or I'm just writing in general. That it's a mature way of writing that makes me seem older...? Is this true guys???

Anyways it's Saturday, spring like weather today in December...in Ohio (which means that when winter comes it's going to hit us hard) Imma go make some popcorn, sit on the couch and watch 100 on Netflix (I've grown obsessed).

Oh! And before I forget, I want to apologize, I'm sure Crimson Road exists somewhere in America but I have no idea if it exists in Columbus Ohio. Just know that the majority of places I set there will be completely fictional. I live in Toledo though (Which I probably shouldn't have said...don't go all stalker on me now...) so most things I set there will actually exist. Again I'm sorry. I say sorry a lot....is that annoying.....OKAY STOP RAMBLING *slaps myself in the face* SNAP OUT OF IT!!!
