YN POV

So here's what really happens during the last hours, we were on our way to Whitestone, but Mrs Briarwood created and sent zombie wolves after us to retrieve the book. Which contains stuff about Ziggurat and contacting some god call the Whispered One from what Scanlan found. They manage to take it and thats not just the bad news.

    We lost our cart and our supplies to fight against those bastards. And so now we travel on foot to Whitestone. As much I hate to admit it, we still have to focus on our jouney if we are to clear our names.

    But what really concerns me is about Percy. That black smoke stuff he had, it was something dangerous. As if he was being-

Scanlan: YN!

YN: Urgh what!?

Scanlan: Sheesh man you've been quiet ever since we lost our stuff.

YN: I've been writing. Helps to kill time while traveling of course.

Vax: What are you writing?

YN: Just some record on how we fucked up during our quests.

Scanlan: (Scoffs.) Whatever.

Vex: That's far enough for today. Let's make camp.

3rd POV

They stop and rest for the night in a open area. Keyleth created fire with her magic but she accidentally over did it. Causing Vax shoulder to burn but he manage to extinguished it.

Keyleth: Oh my gosh. Oh, sorry! Sorry, sorry, sorry!

Vax: (Smiles.) You're fine. You're fine. No worries.

Vex: Yeah, no worries. You'll probably get your shit together eventually.

Keyleth felt depressed until YN comforts her by placing his hand on her shoulder.

YN: Try not to dwell on those thoughts. You just need practice sometimes. Man, you should've seen my first time trying fire magic.

Vax: (Curious.) How'd that go?

YN: Well...I did accidentally burned my mentor's pants during my training.

This made three of them laugh while Scanlan grabbed the bag from Grog and picks up a scroll.

Scanlan: Okay, let's see what this baby can do.

Grog: (Confused.) You got a baby in that thing?

Scanlan: What? No, Grog, its the scroll I picked up from Brimscythe's cave. Just gotta figure out how to make it work. Okay. (Clears throat.)

Keyleth: This looks more than just a flesh wound.

YN: (Admit.) Okay maybe it is. But better than loosing my hand.

Keyleth: (Chuckles.) Glad that didn't happened.

Keyleth patch YN wound on his forearm where the zombie dog bit. While she does, she notice an owl flying above and sees the stars.

Keyleth: (Softly smiles.) This forest reminds me of home a little.

Once she was done, she use magic to create a vine and wrap it over his bandage. Plus adding a nice flower.

YN: (Chuckles.) Must be nice.

Keyleth: Its beautiful, and big. (Sadden.) And filled with Ashari I'm supposed to lead someday. (Sigh.) Vex is right, maybe I'll never get my shit together.

YN: Try not to listen to her too much, she sometimes can be a bitch, but rarely. I don't really know much about your people or ritual or what you think you're running from. But I know you, you pulled it together like back home against those ghosts, because you care about others.

    Its tough, but even a good leaders before you goes through that responsibility, the best protects their followers. (Smiles.) That's what makes a great leader. I believe in you, kiki.

Keyleth: (Laughs a bit.) Thanks...friend.

They look away from each other as it was getting awkward while Vex looks at them from distance as she's fixing her string bow until Vax sat next to her.

Vax: Huh, they seem to be getting along.

Vex: (Shrugs.) Probably. (Smirk.) For a bitcher of course.

They both chuckle.

Short time skip

Everyone except for Percy were gather around the fire while Scanlan was singing about Pike as they all enjoyed it.

Grog: (Smiles.) How bout, what's the strangest creature you've ever killed?

Vax: (Smirk.) Oh, that's easy.

Vax POV

I face a shirtless tiger humanoid with a sword in the middle of the night.

Tiger: I will return, and I will find you!

As soon as he finished his sentence, I kill him by throwing my knife directly to his head. Causing him to groan before falling through the window. I magical retrieve my knife before walking away.

Vax: Uh-huh. Heard that before.

This made them laugh from my strangest creature I killed before someone else tells theirs.

This left all of us speechless while staring at her.

YN: .....I got nothing for that.

Scanlan: Pretty dark.

Grog: (Smiles.) Okay, this one was awesome.

Grog POV 

I face a giant monster in a middle of the dessert. Holding its jaw as it tried to resist.

Grog: Oh, you....(Mutters.)

I force the creature to open its jaw and I bite and rip off its tongue, killing it before claiming my victory.

Grog: (Laughs.)

Vax: (Smiles.) Oh!

Grog: (Smirks.) That was the best.

YN: (Grin.) Okay, okay. This ones good.

YN POV

After getting my reward from the last quest. I decided to go out fishing by the lake. Things been quiet so far.

YN: ....

Suddenly, my fishing rod caught something and I wasted no time to pull it. But it turns out to be a drowner.

The drowner was about to attack with its claws but I pulled my fishing rod, causing it to fall before I smashed its head with my boot.

YN: Fucken hate fishing....

Grog: (Laughs.) Oh, man.

YN: Not bad huh?

Vax: (Laughs.) Not bad at all.

Scanlan: Okay, I've got one. Hands down, the worst monster I've ever faced.

Scanlan POV

CENSORED!

- - -

Vex: So what?

Vax: Yeah, sounds pretty normal for you.

Scanlan: (Grin.) No, no, no, I haven't gotten to the good part.

CENSORED!

Suddenly I notice another head emerged from her shoulder and it growled. Causing me to yell.

- - -

Everyone except Scanlan back away as they were disgusted from my worst monster I've ever faced.

Vex: Ah!

Vax: Oh!

YN: Fucking hell!

Grog: Oh, what the fuck!?

Keyleth: Oh, no!

Scanlan: (Smirk.) What? I still finished.

3rd POV

They all groan except for Scanlan as they sat back down.

Vax: I'm gonna be sick.

Scanlan: I'm very consistent.

YN: Sometimes I ask myself of how the hell did I even end up with you lot?

Keyleth: Oh, you know, portal, tree monster, and not to mentioned you join us on a dragon killing quest.

YN: Oh, right....

Vax: How bout you, Percy?

Percy was sitting alone away from the group while checking his ammunition, until he heard his name and look back to the group.

Vax: (Curious.) What's the worst monster you've ever faced?

Percy: ....(Looks away.) They're in Whitestone. And we'll all be facing them soon....

This made everyone silent until Grog breaks it.

Grog: (Clears his throat.) Buzzkill.

Short time skip

Vex and Vax were gathering some dry woods for the fire while having conversation together about leaving Syngorn but Vex never like about that place, especially their father. But Vex reminded him that they both stick together and didn't get distracted by things. She also mentioned about careful to trust them.

    Vax just wears it off and ensure her that it'll be fine. Just then, they hear someone singing, this time it was YN singing while borrowing Scanlan lute.

Some of them clap after he finished singing.

Scanlan: Not bad, made that song up?

YN: Nah, some singer called Jaskier been playing that song a lot. Its been stuck in my head ever since, though it can be entertaining sometimes. But I'll stick with being a witcher.

Vex: So being a witcher, was it worth it?

YN didn't say anything until he sigh and sit down while handing the lute back to Scanlan.

YN: When you got nothing else after loosing everything that you love, you do what you gotta do to survive in a unforgivable world. Even if it means to leave your life to start a better one. In the end, it's up to yourselves to survive the rest of the way.

Everyone was silent from hearing YN.

YN: But hey, at least I get to meet you guys. Even though I came from another world.

This comfort them before they call it a night and went to sleep.

Percy POV

I had trouble of sleeping because I couldn't stop thinking about the Briarwood and their trusted followers. I couldn't think nothing else than them while playing with my pepperbox. But no matter who stand in my way, I will have my revenge.

Time skip to morning

We continue traveling to Whitestone through the dead forest.

Percy: Almost home. I never thought I'd see it again.

Keyleth: (Smiles a bit.) What's Whitestone like, Percy?

Vex: Yes, what should we expect?

I couldn't help but smile before telling them about my home of how beautiful it is. Orchard always in the bloom, thanks to the Sun Tree. Everyone believed that it was planted by the Dawnfather a thousand years ago.

    It was even engraved on our family crest. A symbol of De Rolos ties to the city. At least it use to be. I continue to walk until Keyleth comforts me.

Keyleth: We're going to help you get it back.

Vax: All of it.

Grog place his hand on my shoulder and smiles.

YN: We're in this together. Its what friends for.

I nod before we continue onward until we arrive.

Percy: We're here.

We were speechless and shock to see the entire city is foggy and cold. Even the sun tree.

Keyleth: (Worried.) Percy.

Percy: What have they done?

We head towards the entrance to the city and everything was quiet as we were on guard.

Vax: No guards?

YN: Sharp eye everyone, no telling what else is here.

We walk through the street and look around the whole place. There use to be a lot of people all over the place. Now its all empty.

Grog: Where is everyone.

We then see a few people alive, but once they made eye contact, they immediately hide in their homes.

Scanlan: Uh, no offense, Percy, but your town's kind of creepy as shit.

YN: How the hell did they fuck up this place to this point?

Percy: I need to find the Keeper Yennen.

Vax: Who?

Percy: A holy woman here. She'll know what's happened.

Vex: You're sure about her?

Percy: She can be trusted.

YN: Careful who you trust. A lot of people can change, including your close friends after not seeing each other forever.

Percy: I'm aware of that.

Vex: If she's alive.

Just then we see the guard and we hide behind the houses and large wooden boxes until the guards passed by. Suddenly we felt a shake and we saw a zombie giant walking by.

Scanlan: (Stammer.) Uh, b-big thing there. There big thing.

Vex: We're not safe here. Come on.

We follow Vex to find somewhere else is safe until I spotted something that made me stop. It made me froze as my eyes were widen to see as I gasp. 

Keyleth: Percy, are you okay?

Keyleth then sees what I'm seeing that made her frightened. 

YN: What's wrong?

We all look as see people are hanged by the sun tree.
